Great location - we chose it as we were visiting Longleat Safari for the day & wanted to stay nearby. The Cornerhouse is 10 min drive from there. Has onsite free parking for guests, and family rooms. We travelled with our 3 children aged 13, 11 and 8 and struggle to find hotels that can accommodate us in one single room. Cornerhouse provides family rooms - we stayed in room 8. Was huge! A room with a double bed for us then a separate bigger room down a flight of 3 stairs that had another double bed and 2 single beds in for the kids. Room had all the facilities we needed - toiletries, hairdryer, tea/coffee, plenty of towels for the 5 of us. Room was super clean & comfortable and didn’t feel crowded at all. Staff were all super welcoming & friendly. Laid a table up for us for both dinner and breakfast without us having to ask. Food was lovely - small menu (essentially it’s a pie n mash place) but they do have kids options which they were more than happy to change chips for mash or chips for skin on chips. Breakfast was really good too - again they were happy to accommodate the kids and what they wanted. Would definitely stay again and recommend The Cornerhouse to anyone travelling with kids and wanting somewhere family friendly and near Longleat.

Nothing - comfortable stay, lovely staff!

In a central location for our needs. Our needs were met fully when asked for items that were missing from our room, ie clothes hangers. Towels were changed daily for us which was a pleasant touch. Breakfast was good for the choice that was offered and also being asked what time we would like. Staff were friendly and attentive. For the negatives listed we had a lovely stay which was made up for by the staff concerned. Lucy, Will, Joe and Graham.

The size of our room which was quite small. Photographs are a little misleading on the size, we thought we had paid for a bigger room Being told on arrival that they had stopped providing evening food a week before as they couldn’t compete with other establishments in the area. Also being told the property was up for sale gave a very negative first impression. Would’ve been nice for an email beforehand to advise of this, so we were aware we would have to walk to find something to eat every night.

The hotel is in a good location to the centre of Frome , just a 5 minute walk , just be aware that it’s a reasonably steep hill to walk down and then back up again . Breakfast was lovely and the service was excellent , from the minute I arrived, to the minute I left , nothing was to much trouble ! My bed was lovely and comfortable along with good pillows, and the bathroom had shampoo and body wash , which was great, because I’d forgotten to pack mine ! There were tea , coffee and biscuits in the room also , and the room was lovely and warm . There’s a good car park at the back of the hotel , where I felt my car was perfectly safe , just note , there’s an archway just to the side of the hotel where you go through to get to the car park .

My shower wouldn’t move to a different position , so consequently the water was shooting out over my head instead of over me , and ended up soaking the floor , however it was powerful and hot . The woodwork could do with a little touch up of paint in places , and I couldn’t get the WiFi password to work , but to be honest I’m just nit picking .

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was nice and cozy, and one of the cleanest I've seen while traveling in the UK. They provided a small kettle and tea and coffee. The bed was comfortable and the room temperature perfect. I'm not sure if there were no guests or very civilized ones during the time of our stay, but I could not hear much noise. There was no road noise either. The English breakfast was one of the best I've had. The bar offers a good selection of drinks, I was really happy about that.

The bathroom sink was too small and a bit hard to use it without spilling droplets on the floor. It found it a bit pricey considering it's a small town, but I'd definitely choose this place again, with a discount.

Convenient location with parking. We were able to check in easily, there were clear instructions of how to contact them when we parked up as we were slightly early for checking in. We made use of the lovely bar area when friends arrived and we stayed and had something to eat (fab food) before going out for the evening to a planned gig in the town. We had keys to let ourselves in so we could come and go as we pleased. Both rooms we booked were lovely and clean. Great full English breakfast in the morning. We would definitely book again if we need a stop over.

We thought that it would be an idea for them to make the lines clearer for parking and to maybe put up more signage about which areas were for the customer parking especially at the bottom of the car park. Very grateful to have the spaces though as a big advantage! Also a mirror in the room rather than just the bathroom would be useful as couldn’t use the hairdryer in the bathroom of course.

We stayed overnight before a visit to Longleat which is only around 5 miles away. The Cornerhouse is easy to find and having a car park at the rear of the building is handy. Our room at the top of the building was warm and comfortable.. Bathroom was fine. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was excellent. The next time we need a place to stay in this area we would book the Cornerhouse again.

No issues at all. Not a problem for us but there are several narrow staircases to the top level. If you have mobility issues contact the hotel. I feel sure they would sort a lower level room out if available.

Amazing location for seeing Frome. Good to have a car park and easy to find. We upgraded to a larger room which had a particularly comfy bed. Room was very warm but had an opening window which we needed. Food in the bar was OK but there were so many eating places within walking distance we could vary our choice. Very casual bar to eat in with live jazz on as a bonus. Excellent, friendly staff.

Nothing really not to like for us. Not for you if you like to dress up for dinner and have a quiet posh meal!

The bar/breakfast area is decorated very nicely and comfortable to sit. The toilets are well decorated and kept very clean. Downstairs was certainly kept clean and looking attractive. The en-suite was very clean, with modern fittings and lovely hot water. Our tiny room did not have a chair for me to sit/get ready so I asked housekeeping and they sorted one which was so helpful. The bar/breakfast staff were fabulously helpful and made our stay very enjoyable.

The bedroom/room was tiny. Thank goodness the room had a heater/dehumidifier. The final set of stairs to the room were steep which was challenging carrying our luggage.

We stayed two nights. We entered the hotel through the bar and were met by Lucy. Lucy and all the staff were all very friendly and explained the hotel details/info. The room had all that we needed. It was the family room, stayed with my two children. It was simple and clean, the beds were very comfy. The breakfasts were very generous and incl in the price. You could have a full English or just toast. Juices and teas and coffee were incl. Would recommend!

Fantastic location to base yourself in Frome with free parking off street and within an easy walk of plenty of shops and restaurants (Castello was particularly good). The bar itself in the hotel was reasonably priced and had a great atmosphere, the live music on Saturday night was very enjoyable. Breakfast in the morning was excellent with a choice of full english or a breakfast roll. Room itself was small and basic but good value for what I'd paid.

The room was overly small in places and getting to the other side of the bed in the night without inadvertently opening the curtains was a bit of a challenge. Also worth being aware on a Saturday night that live music plays until sometime between half 10 and 11 and the rooms aren't sound insulated at all. Not an issue if you were enjoying the music in the bar like we were but worth being aware of.
