Remembering that the facilities are all the basic essentials, The Anchor was exceptionally clean throughout and I was impressed by the superb quality of painting and decorating. The room size was adequate, the bathroom a little cramped but it served our purpose well.

The only thing I didn't like was the rooms being separate from the main building and being necessary to walk outside and involving several sets of steps; something that was not clear when I booked a ground-floor room. Not good for an 87 year old. But this was somewhat understandable bearing in mind the geology of the location and offset by almost every other benefit.

The location was handy for our one night stay, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and bed was comfortable. Food at the pub was hearty and reasonably priced. The property didn’t have any facilities as such, but was right on the edge of the loch and close to the town amenities and lots of local hikes. It wouldn’t have been my first choice if others were available (it was a weekend and there were a few local events on so there were not many other options) but we were pleasantly surprised at the comfort and cleanliness.

In the scheme of things our room was probably a bit over priced, but the local events that weekend were probably the reason. Biggest annoyance was the fire exit light lit up the whole room while you were trying to sleep! And we were on the ground floor with a room above who were a bit noisy late into the night.

Excellent staff and room, clean comfortable and quiet. The chef went out of his way to make us a special vegetarian meal which was delicious and just what we needed! There's also plenty of space to park your bicycles (and our tandem) outside out of sight

Smoke! We had room 13 upstairs and our window had to be shut most of the time as the pub staff and customers all congregated outside the rear of the pub to smoke. It then drifted in. The pub should have somewhere for people to smoke, but not directly adjacent to the bedrooms. If they could sort this issue out it would rate a 10.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Food in the bar was good. Room 5 was modern and very clean, with good WiFi. Good safe parking for two motorcycles.

Only thing letting down the room was the lack of soundproofing and the unbelievably creaky floors from the room/apartment above. The building is not old but the noise created by simply walking about in the room upstairs is so loud you just cannot sleep. There is absolutely no soundproofing between the rooms at all and every single sound from the toilet (!!) and shower can be heard clearly through the wall in addition to the noise from upstairs. I have to add that the people upstairs and next door were moving around normally and not trying to be deliberately noisy !! Such a shame as it spoils an otherwise perfect room.

Our stay at The Anchor Inn was perfect, every single aspect was flawless, Kris and his staff were fantastic people, mixing a professional approach with humour and attention to detail perfectly, we have stayed at a lot of guest venues this year and The Anchor Team are in a different league, I will recommend this place without hesitation and most definitely look forward to returning, Well done guys 👏

Staff on arrival were very friendly and helpful, we had requested off road parking for our classic vehicles and so the staff member upgraded our rooms to enable off road parking with easy access.

Nothing in truth, shall we say the rooms and facilities were functional and casual, there was no.pretence to hide behind it.... we had a 1 night stay and everything was more than adequate if stating longer I think we would be asking for larger towels and a few other bits n bobs.

Location٫ plenty of places to park. Spacious room with beautiful views passed the road in front of Inn. Lovely staff٫Gary٫ (I think) very attentitive with ensuring we were happy with the two family rooms. Beautiful location and well worth the stay!

Breakfast could have been better. Choice of cereal and one toaster for roughly 20 guests. No option of pastries٫ fruit or yogurt with continental breakfast.

I got a very warm welcome when I arrived. I was taken to my room and the staff carried my bag for me....a rare thing these days. The room was lovely and warm as they had put the heating on early for me during the snow storm we were having. The bed was comfy, the room was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. I had a gluten free breakfast and it was delicious, as were the two evening meals I had. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them. I was a bit worried about finding a space to park in but parked right outside with no issues both days I was there. I will definitely be back.

Nothing at all. I could not fault the service or the room, or the meals.

We were met by Chris who was brilliant at welcoming us and explaining how the pub/rooms worked. Both he and Andy were very friendly and went out of their way to ensure that our rooms were exactly as we wanted them. The choice of drinks in the bar was great, and the locals were very welcoming to us. The food was lovely and very ample. It is a pub, with rooms that does very nice food as well, rather than one of these large 'Inns' that are really just restaurants with a bit of a bar stuck on the side. We had a great time. We will return and next time spend longer there. Thank you very much to Chris, Andy and all the staff.

I find it very hard to find something we did not like. I think perhaps that lack of anything to do in the village, other than the pub (which is not a bad thing) would be a drawback to anyone who does not have car.
