No meat breakfast was a bit unusual , but other wise really nice and good options for healthy eating, very friendly and helpful, room was great and very comfy , even had a mini fridge , definitely loved that, means I can bring milk to store it rather than use those wee milk cups that sit out, take away next door as well as a wee shop really handy, but did charge £5 min on card use.

bed , bed covers , as it was far too warm and bed did not circulate air well, if your like me and heat up a lot at night , you may want to ask for lighter cover during the night, water pipe when raining was loud outside the window .

Small hotel with free car parking located about 3/4 mile from the centre of Helensburgh which offers a wide variety of shops, bars, restaurants and fast food outlets. Rooms are good sized and whilst plainly furnished are great value for the money and the beds are comfy. Breakfast is good with a variety of offerings (no meat though) which did not disappoint. We were on a motorcycle tour of the Highlands and the hotel kindly let us leave our vans there for the duration (5 nights), before we returned for a final night.

It's not 'The Ritz' but it far exceeds the minimum required standards for the money charged, so nothing to complain about

The staff are very flexible and accommodating. I had to leave quickly to catch a train, the staff were in the middle of cooking me breakfast and without complaint or me asking they wrapped it up and had it ready for me as I was leaving. I also arrived a lot later than predicted and hadn't called ahead, my key and instructions were carefully left for me and everything was clearly explained. The hotel it also conveniently located near the station, which was a life saver when I had to catch a train at short notice!

Found the most wonderful welcome pack in the room that the owner had left for us as we were travelling for almost 4 hours. Absolutely everything that we could need without even having to unpack. Had to make numerous telephone calls on route to update owner, and he was so kind and thoughtful. Have stayed in 5 star properties and not received a gift so lovely. Area is really nice and close to local amenities. Bed was two singles pushed together but was really very comfortable.

Was looking forward to a full English/Scottish breakfast but no meat served in restaurant. A tad disappointing. Room smelled a little musty and could have done with airing before use.

Walkable to town. Comfy bed.

Breakfast staff not attentive, didn't notice when booked it's a vegetarian and vegan place. Plastic wrapped croissants, not great, didn't get asked if we wanted toast as waiter left on his bike which was in restaurant. Outside our room window was a rusty old trailer and rubbish bag. Sat nav reference didn't take us to property so called but it went to answerphone! Had to ask a local where it was. TV on in breakfast room with football on, the sound was way TOO loud!

One question was.. a romantic place.??. Mmmm!! Yes and No... It's a bit out of centre (15min walk) ... It is next to rail line. Room was comfortable. Patrons Quiet but Road noise could prove to be a problem if window facing street and open.. Otherwise Quiet. Breakfast was ok and they do give many optionss of additional choice the night before. Family run hotel... Good value though.

If you have a larger form getting into and out of shower could prove to be tight.

lovely room, really clean loads of tea bags and other bits. helpful little fridge. Absolutely loved the breakfast. all you could need. The fact that it’s a vegetarian breakfast is brilliant, extremely tasty and freshly cooked. really good place I could recommend. Very quiet and the staff are very helpful. Good WiFi. I have to say having read some of the reviews I was expecting something bad but I really do regretfully get the impression that some of the reviews are driven by other motives. The owner is polite and friendly and I would highly recommend people give this place a try.

A bit of a walk to Helensburgh but that’s good for you!!

it was lovely clean spacious room was lovely very comfortable and well provided with tea coffee plenty of milk included a fridge in room bed was very comfortable and bathroom was lovely couldn’t fault the hotel at all

the welcome we had was worst we have had in all our stays the person on the desk was not very helpful he asked for our payment before anything else then gave us key didn’t tell us where the room was till we asked no smile talked so quiet I had to get him to repeat himself then at breakfast same thing was on his phone looked up said morning and carried on phone we got table then went helped ourselves then he asked what drink we wanted it was an effort on his part spoke too quiet the two other staff we met were very friendly smile and spoke loud. but hopefully he’ learns from this and gets friendlier as great place to stay apart from these few minor things

Polite staff, very attentive and really enjoyed breakfast. The food was cooked well and very tasty. The Vegetarian/vegan breakfast should be used a selling point.... not criticised by meat eaters . Location was good for eating out in Helensburgh too.

Not really anything to criticise, maybe a hairdryer in the room or bottles of sauce at breakfast instead if the sachets. Had a fight with one at breakfast and I was defeated so went sauceless.

This was my first visit to the hotel. The staff welcomed me on arrival and were very freindly, helpful and accomodating throughout my stay. My room was clean, tidy and very comfortable. Continental breakfast had a variety of cereals and the selection of fresh fruit was extremely good. I have made a second booking to stay and I would highly recommend the County Hotel.
