Every meal we had was lovely, including our breakfasts . The cleanliness of the hotel was very good . Parking easy .

Most Staff were efficient, but were not at all friendly. A man on reception on arrival was not exactly welcoming, efficient yes ,but welcoming no . If this was the Manager and I think it may have been ,he needs to refresh up on Customer Service. The elderly lady receptionist as we checked out was the only one we noticed smile during our 3 day stay. Such a shame! Bar staff, breakfast staff, we're again mostly miserable, looked like they really disliked working at the hotel . One of the ladies behind the bar was quite abrupt to the point of being rude. There was one much younger lady who was more pleasant though . More need to be like her .

Charming hotel with a great restaurant/pub. The grounds were nice, with outdoor seating for dining (if you catch good weather). And out the door, around the corner you’ll find entry to the Cotswold Way - a hundred mile long walking path through forests and the beautiful countryside. The staff was great - helping me with my luggage, providing me with a space heater and blankets when I found my room too cold (being from Phoenix, it was a bit chilly for me), and special thanks to Joanne at the front desk who was most helpful when I lost my tripod on an outing. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Just a note to anyone who has an issue with stairs… my room was on the third floor, there is no elevator, so if you prefer to skip that hike several times a day, you may want to request that your room be on a lower floor.

The room was very spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, so we slept very well. Tea and coffee making bits were ample for our needs and replenished every day. The breakfast was very good every day as was the service in the restaurant each time we eat there. The location of lovely, just a few minutes drive for junction 11A of the M5 and it is very easy to walk from the hotel and access the Cotswold Way and some marvellous view points.

The lighting in the main room was not too bright so some good quality reading light/s would be really beneficial.

A big hotel, massive garden with lots of seating, big car park. Quirky decor lots of nooks to sit in. Live music in the bar. Food was really nice in the restaurant. Nice selection of ales. A nice relaxed feel to the hotel. Room was huge with a queen size bed. Very clean. The staff in general were very welcoming. Melissa in the restaurant was bubbly and engaged in conversation really lovely girl.

Unfortunately, one member of staff on reception/bar we felt was rude. However, speaking to the manager, she was very pro active in dealing with our issues.

We were joined by family for part of our stay and found excellent, helpful staff with a very friendly attitude. Food was hot and well cooked and we never had to wait long for service even when busy. Managers were considerate with our families dogs and served breakfast in the bar so that they could stay with their owners.

having a lift would have helped us as having to carry suitcases up 3 flights of stairs would have been difficult for my husband in his eighties, but a member of staff was produced immediately to help. A free-standing shower would have been better than over the bath kind.

Liked the hotel very much the room is clean and the beds really comfortable but the rooms need updating. Staff are very friendly and go above and beyond. Bar and restaurant very nice and dinner was great.

The breakfast was tepid and no bread or toast was offered with the English breakfast just one slice of toast on your plate. The coffee was cold and we were only offered one cup and there was no refill. The rooms are looking tired and need an update.

Fabulous warm spacious room with four poster bed, very comfortable & good selection of tea, hot chocolate etc on the courtesy tray. The barman produced a jug of milk on request. Nice characterful hotel with good atmosphere.

A rather unwelcoming lady presumably serving at the bar but sat on stool in front who on our request for a plate of chips informed us chips come in a bag. We said those are crisps in England, we want chips as in fish & chips. That’s French fries, what do we want, fries or chips! Not a happy encounter but the chips were excellent when they came!

Good parking facilities. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Waiting staff attentative at breakfast and dinner. Plenty of choice in the continental breakfast. Dinner menu was varied and tasty. Good selection of drinks. Accomodation was well presented. Bed comfy, slept well.

A bit of updating needed. Cutlery had seen better days, was old and tarnished. Tired looking furniture in room. Areas of carpet leading to rooms were threadbare. Plug in sink in en-suite was discoloured with rust. Old yale locks on heavy fire doors to rooms made for noisy shutting. Hair and body wash was oppsite side in bath to the shower which made for precarious walking to get washed. Signal for wifi was hit and miss.

Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Staff and duty manager were excellent in pointing you in the right direction. Food for breakfast and evening meals were excellent. The choice was that good I wanted to stay a third night so I could try my third favourite choice on the menu. I would definitely like to stay at this hotel again provided the price is right.

Bathrooms could do with upgrading but were clean considering the age of the equipment. Complimentary Wifi could have been better, it kept dropping out and my own phone coverage wasn't good but that wasn't the hotel's fault that is down to my network provided. Bar area could have done with better music band. For a Saturday night it didn't get the vibe going and everyone seemed to go to bed early.

Staff were exceptional. Warmly welcomed at reception by friendly and enthusiastic receptionist. Another very knowledgable receptionist provided information on recommended villages and towns to visit. Staff in dining room were all very friendly, particularly the young girl (heading off to Cardiff Uni) - she is an asset to the hotel.

Overall breakfast was very good. Didn’t particularly like sourdough bread served at breakfast, however staff were happy to make toast of my choice.
