Great location, plentiful parking. Nice bar, restaurant and outside seating / dining areas. Menu options plentiful and food good for breakfast and dinner. Good live music in bar on Saturday night.
One member of reception class was clueless about non-feather (hypo-allergenic bedding) saying that he didn't think that the hotel had any: when we got to our room all bedding turned out to be hypo-allergenic. Another member of staff was extremely rude, abrupt and unhelpful to 2 of our party. Waits at dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday were excessively long - it was clear that the one member of staff serving was overwhelmed. The impression was of understaffing in kitchen and amongst waiting staff in the dining areas. Despite being overstretched the waiting staff remained friendly and helpful.

The receptionist was very helpful in answering all of my questions about hiking nearby and the best way to return. I was even able to check in a little earlier than expected. Love that the entrance to the cotswalds way is just down the street. The receptionist gave me a shortcut to avoid having to walk the busy road. Room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. Love that there was both indoor and outdoor dining and walking trails on the property.
No shade to the hotel but if you go walking on their grounds (they have beautiful pathways through the woods, don't use the path closest to the gazebo. I learned what stinging nettles are! There's another path adjacent to it that's clear. It's a great area to let the kiddos run wild and explore the woods.

Nice location, pretty village with walks and convenient for Gloucester and Cheltenham l. Spacious room and bathroom with a bath not just a shower. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking. Very good breakfast - cold buffet with good choice and hot food made to order.
Room could be improved with sockets by the bed and an adjustable shower (not just a fixed position overhead). Water just hot enough. Most annoying thing was having to reconnect to the wifi multiple times a day. We enjoyed breakfast but had dinner one night and I wouldn't recommend (steak good, scampi ok but chips poor quality and vegetables very overcooked)

Every meal we had was lovely, including our breakfasts . The cleanliness of the hotel was very good . Parking easy .
Most Staff were efficient, but were not at all friendly. A man on reception on arrival was not exactly welcoming, efficient yes ,but welcoming no . If this was the Manager and I think it may have been ,he needs to refresh up on Customer Service. The elderly lady receptionist as we checked out was the only one we noticed smile during our 3 day stay. Such a shame! Bar staff, breakfast staff, we're again mostly miserable, looked like they really disliked working at the hotel . One of the ladies behind the bar was quite abrupt to the point of being rude. There was one much younger lady who was more pleasant though . More need to be like her .

Good location for the area we wanted, room was clean and tidy, good size! Had everything we needed in there, even complimentary biscuits! Evening menu was usual pub grub with generous portion sizes, breakfast was beautiful and nice to see fresh strawberries and watermelon. All food was served quickly and hot. Good size hotel with lovely garden area. We have previously read staff were rude, they were not rude, just very busy but could come across as direct, all were friendly to us though. Would we stay again? Absolutely!! Good size carpark too! Last note… birdlip view point just round the corner is definitely worth a look!
If anything, it probably needs a bit of modernisation but there was nothing that took anything away from our stay!

Great location. Everywhere was so clean. The room was very comfortable and had everything you could need. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the lady on the reception desk on Saturday (1/2/25). The younger members of the staff were friendly, too. The food was good. This was our second visit, and we would stay again.
Although most of the staff were friendly and helpful, a couple of the more mature staff members, although professional, were not very nice, particularly one who was working on Saturday morning (1/2/25). She was rude and embarrassed us at breakfast by announcing, very loudly, to the whole dining room that we 'needed to pay' as we were 'room only'. We were already aware of this as it's what we had chosen. It would also appear that we were overcharged for our breakfast on Saturday, and we didn't realise until Sunday morning. Our mistake for not checking the bill! The lady on the Sunday morning was, however, lovely, helpful, friendly, and welcoming.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were very good and very plentiful. We especially liked the fresh plain yoghurt and choice of berries and nice bread. Evening meals were very good, the pies are exceptional and the mash potato is almost as good as mine, and my mash is legendary. We didn't try the deserts as we did not have room!
Small thing, I can't stand shower curtains, a screen would be better, and the bathroom was slightly tired. Also slightly better quality toilet paper 🧻 please.

Charming hotel with a great restaurant/pub. The grounds were nice, with outdoor seating for dining (if you catch good weather). And out the door, around the corner you’ll find entry to the Cotswold Way - a hundred mile long walking path through forests and the beautiful countryside. The staff was great - helping me with my luggage, providing me with a space heater and blankets when I found my room too cold (being from Phoenix, it was a bit chilly for me), and special thanks to Joanne at the front desk who was most helpful when I lost my tripod on an outing. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Just a note to anyone who has an issue with stairs… my room was on the third floor, there is no elevator, so if you prefer to skip that hike several times a day, you may want to request that your room be on a lower floor.

The room was very spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, so we slept very well. Tea and coffee making bits were ample for our needs and replenished every day. The breakfast was very good every day as was the service in the restaurant each time we eat there. The location of lovely, just a few minutes drive for junction 11A of the M5 and it is very easy to walk from the hotel and access the Cotswold Way and some marvellous view points.
The lighting in the main room was not too bright so some good quality reading light/s would be really beneficial.

A big hotel, massive garden with lots of seating, big car park. Quirky decor lots of nooks to sit in. Live music in the bar. Food was really nice in the restaurant. Nice selection of ales. A nice relaxed feel to the hotel. Room was huge with a queen size bed. Very clean. The staff in general were very welcoming. Melissa in the restaurant was bubbly and engaged in conversation really lovely girl.
Unfortunately, one member of staff on reception/bar we felt was rude. However, speaking to the manager, she was very pro active in dealing with our issues.
