Excellent, central location in the middle of the pedestrian zone. The reception staff was friendly, helpful and explained everything in detail, including how to get to the car park. The bedroom was clean with plenty of bedding and towels. The breakfast had lots of choices on the buffet as well as from the card and the service was friendly and fast. We travelled with two dogs and the hotel provided a dog bed and dog bowls at no extra cost. The hotel provided hotel room door tags that included one stating that a dog was inside the room. We thought that was a brilliant idea and used it when we went for breakfast without the dogs (otherwise they were always with us).

As we travelled with our two dogs, we found the bedroom had too many (unnecessary) decoration pillows (4 on the bed and one in each of the two chairs) that we quickly put away in the hopes they would stay clean and fur free. Again, specifically to dog ownership, we think a carpet free room would be a real bonus to help keep everything even cleaner.

the property was beautiful & staff very good & attentive. Great central location but bit noisy at night for my husband

First night tv didn’t work but next day they had it repaired so one night no tv & rely on it as husband disabled The shower neatly overflowed the cubicle till I checked the drainage & found it full of hairs & congealed in slime from products. But maintenance cleared it & put solution down. it must not of been cleaned for ages. disgusting for price of hotel. Think housekeeping needs to up their game for price we paid. Also had the disabled spot at entrance to hotel & couldn’t believe we had to pay £30 for parking. quite a few teething problems need sorting for what we paid then spent while staying there.

Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of food to choose from and a very welcoming and efficient staff. We were never kept waiting even on the busy morning when a coach load were having breakfast.

we had no warning about the number of steps to climb to reach room 10.my husband has some difficulty in walking and found that very difficult. We feel that should be pointed out when booking takes place as it did rather spoil our stay. Parking in the park behind hotel was convenient but we didnt realise until the second day that we could also park near the theatre and so paid for a ticket.Luckily the carpark man told us.This should be pointed out to guests when they book the car park pass.

The hotel was its usual high standard even though there was ongoing upgrade of the hotel. Breakfast was tasty, hot, served on hot plates. Evening meal was also very good. We love the central location of the hotel in Keswick, can get busy due to its popularity but you can always find a quiet spot somewhere. We love that our dog is always made welcome here. A big Thankyou to Ava, Johnny, Kevin and another young lady who’s name escapes me sorry!

Nothing, the staff and hotel were excellent, there was a minor issue for us that the towel rail was on full time which a) made the room very hot b) what a waste of energy. We asked if there was anyway that it could be turned off, and within 5 minutes the handyman had turned it off, Thankyou

Breakfast was good and all the staff are friendly and make you welcome. The lift up to our room was well located but feel that the number of steps from the car park could disadvantage a wheelchair user. Could we just mention that Jonny in reception and Anna front of house were especially friendly.

Only 1 thing. Their were 2 bottles of water in the room on arrival but these were never replaced! This is the only hotel that we stay at that doesn't replace them and it is the dearest. We believe this is rather tight fisted for the amount charged for the rooms.

Location great . Most staff friendly. Breakfast good .

Rooms inconsistent in size. Booked 2 doubles both different and felt shirt changed at 175 a night for a tiny room with a small bed in (double not long enough if over 6ft tall and not wide enough for a couple if one is heavy (but not fat) Booked table for 10 in restaurant, issue with 1 meal - undercooked chicken served to a pregnant member of our party . No apology given just took price off the final bill . This is a big negative response. On reflection price is not value for money given room size

Lovely hotel, very clean and lovely interiors. Brilliant staff.

1. Car parking was £10 and I felt that was slightly expensive considering price of the room. 2. The bedroom was unfortunately facing the public toilet on the first floor and I could hear people coming and going and the dryers and voices until around 11.30pm (this might have included noise coming from staff cleaning at the end of the night) which was a negative. 3. I had family come and join for breakfast and the cost was £19 per person which seems really extreme considering what it is

Room was comfortable with a great shower. Bed was nice although bag storage was a little compromised. Food was great, I didn't have breakfast as up too early but my partner said it was really nice. I was woken through the night by other guests making noise as they went to bed. Not the hotels fault but it might be an idea to request guests respect other guests right to an early night and be quiet. Overall very happy with the hotel.

Noise from other guests.

Everything went well - customer service prior to arrival, the service at the hotel on every level, the fact that the room was situated in a quiet area of the hotel, the quality of the food, the cleanliness, the helpful and friendly staff , the TV actually worked and the wi-fi was fine, plus easy entry, right at the centre of town and only a five minute walk from the easily accessible path that runs alongside the lake and the shore. We ate breakfast and all evening meals at the hotel and the food was superb.

Being centrally located, I didn't expect a view to die for but the actual view on the car park is better than you'd think thanks to all the trees in bloom. Initially, I was disappointed at the size of the room for the price paid, but I quickly realised that the main bonus was that the room was situated on the top floor, in the quietest area of the hotel and the fact that you couldn't hear anyone outside the room at any time, made up for what was still an adequately sized hotel room with a bed that was huge and tables on which to work.

Referencing our stay at the Skiddaw Hotel we found that our experience overall was excellent. Location, accommodation, staff, and breakfast were excellent and the town vibrant over the bank holiday with the market and an excellent shopping experience. Even the dog wants to return. We shall return

The whole experience in the hotel and the town was excellent. A great buzz in the town over the Bank holiday and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the fascinating history and architecture of the area and sample the local produce.
