We booked Andel Lodge at short notice because the accommodation we had originally booked, advised us late that they had overbooked and could not accommodate us. It was not easy to find an alternative place because we had a dog with us. However, we found a room at Andel Lodge and our dog and ourselves were made very welcome. The hosts and staff throughout our stay have been excellent. The beds were very comfortable and the door to the room opened directly to the outside so there was immediate access to a garden for the dog. Great breakfasts and a good choice of food and drink. We had a lovely stay and would recommend it.

Nothing really but we would advise any light sleeper to maybe take some earplugs as the hotel is located on a very busy road with some very heavy traffic. It certainly didn’t affect the enjoyment of our stay.

Our room was comfortable and spacious enough and we had no noise from outside. Breakfast was ample, varied and tasty. Portion size was very good. The dinners we had were again very good in portion size, taste and quality. The staff were friendly and helpful. We have resolved to go again.

As soon as we arrived the key in our bedroom door broke and for a few wild minutes we were locked in. But equally, the staff saved the day with a master key and we were released. Not so much that we didn't like it, more that we were initially very concerned, though very quickly very relieved.

The room was spacious and comfy.

Apparently the hotel aren't normally expecting check ins on a Sunday so when we arrived the whole place was locked down. We rang the bell and got checked in okay after. At breakfast there was a lack of staff around when we were finished and looking to check out I ended up walking into the kitchen area where I could hear voices to get someone's attention. Although they have free WiFi our room was outside and too far away to pick it up. Staff were polite and helpful through our stay though.

Food was excellent, customer service very good. Staff ( Tina & Rodney) were exceptionally helpful, they were the staff we mostly spoke to but the young girl on duty ( didn't get her name) was also friendly. This hotel has excellent staff, makes a real difference to customers visiting hotels.

No shower spray for hair wash & sockets hidden behind bedside tables but because of the staff, food and customer service we didn't let this change our opinion.

I loved that our dogs could stay with us. The room was very clean and did not smell of dogs like some rooms we have stayed in. We could park right outside our room and there were ramps around the hotel to enable my father, who is disabled, to access hotel dining and bar. The hotel was lovely and bright inside and all the staff we spoke to were really friendly and helpful. There is a busy main road to the front of the hotel, but around the back and sides is a lovely garden and grassed area to allow your dog a quick walk before bedtime.

The room itself was a little dark but that is because there is a canopy and seating area for personal use outside. The outdoor dustbin could have done with being a bit larger as it soon filled up.

Room was clean and nicely furnished, as was the bathroom. Hotel provided pleasant space outside to relax and socialise, and seating inside in restaurant and bar area. Choice of bar and restaurant menus for evening meals. Pleasant and helpful staff.

The plumbing in the bathroom was 'tired' and could be improved. The over bath shower attachment did not work properly. The room was extremely hot and suffered from a high level of noise.

The place was very quiet, parking was good , nice to be able to sit outside room on bench and have a cigarette, dogs welcome . Hot water was hot , free WiFi. The hotel is on the main rd and just down the road was an American style diner and in the other direction was an all you can eat Chinese restaurant. I would be more than happy to stay again .

Cooked Breakfast wasn't what I expected it to be . I have a big appetite and there just wasn't enough. There was cereal and yogurt but due to being diabetic i tend not to eat them . Altogether breakfast was enjoyable have no complaints

the chalet room had just been refurbished so nowhere to hang clothes or curtain across the door to shut out the light.Also it said there was a single and a double bed in this room,but there was bunk bed and a double which was to sleep a young man in who is tall.

Really lovely stay. It was quiet and we had lots of privacy. Good facilities and one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in. decor is a little dated but that’s absolutely fine, especially considering the price!

only thing I would change was I’d put lights around the vanity mirror but that’s tiny and not even necessary, just a thought! It was lovely

Breakfast was lovely, location good for my connection, the evening menu could do with some healthier options like baked salmon, potatoes and salad with an optional dressing or jacket potato and fillings, or crust less quiche... lots to chose from really for the health conscious guests

There wasn't anything I didn't like to be honest, as above better food options on the menu but that's an easy thing to sort with a good inventive chef
