We were touring all of Cornwall, and decided to read the book "Jamaica Inn" by Daphne Du Maurier just prior to visiting Cornwall, and then booked this hotel. The hotel is probably great even if you don't read the book, but as we had just read it our experience was enhanced. Room was great, big and clean, location is good as central point to tour local hiking/walking areas. Breakfast was fine, dinner was phenomenal, best Braised Short Rib ever (we ate in the pub, cooler atmosphere than the restaurant). There is a little museum which was great, and a big gift shop.

Location was fab, but we had chose that Location with view to where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do. Of which it was surrounded by many places to visit, though was also nice to chill and enjoy the view!

Nothing we didn't like. But there were no slippers or dressing gown, or coffee maker. We were told that there never has been and they have many times ask you to change this, but it's not happened. The coffee machine would have been a definite something we were looking forward to, but it was just escape sachets and a kettle! But..that did not ruin our stay, was a something nice, which sadly wasn't the case!

The room was very comfortable and clean,The staff were very friendly and helpful. The outside areas were lovely to sit in the sunshine enjoying a drink or two both at the front courtyard area and to the rear of the property. This is a very interesting property with a lot of history. The gift shop was an added bonus,we didn't visit the museum so cannot comment on that.

The food service was a little slow and the portion sizes were a bit small. It took quite a while to get our meals ordered and also took a long time to pay our bill. The prices didn't reflect very good value for money considering what was paid and the reduced portion sizes.

We booked a double room which was clean, comfortable and had coffee/tea facilities with a delicious biscuit. There wasn’t really a view, but we were in the old building. The property is in a Beautiful location.

There were mirrors but in the wrong place in my opinion. One mirror was one in a recess above dresser/ tea coffee faculties. There was no light here so I used my torch to put make up on. The full length mirror was in the iron cupboard, but you couldn’t open properly because the bedside table was in the way. I should say, there is a great mirror in the bathroom with a light but there were no shelves to put makeup or toiletries on.

Always a wonderful stay at the Jamaica Inn, lovely walk across the moors.. Great food and great beer

I've stayed here on every trip to Cornwall now and I feel.its getting a bit too much of a tourist attraction now losing that inn feeling and becoming more of a hotel.. It used to offer a full English buffet, now it's a sit down table service style breakfast although still very good I proffered when it was a smaller inn offerig that "weary traveller" warm homely feeling

Needs more vegan provisions, oat milk in the breakfast area. Food at dinner was very good. The cost of the drinks were far too pricey i would not recommend going there if someone was on a moderate income it was ridiculously pricey for 2 drinks. The atmosphere is relaxed, the rooms are clean, I do think though that it is over priced for what it is which is a shame we live in Cornwall and go there for a break, if there was a discount for people who live within say 50 miles should get a locals discount.

The cups, cutlery and tables feel sticky to touch. The vegan black pudding that was part of the vegan cooked breakfast is a mystery, i think having sliced avocado instead would be much more appropriate, not all vegans want replica meat. Another heads up is buying vegan sausages or other fake meat products should not be purchased from a butchers and if it is it should be said that it is bought from meat selling source.

Evocative experience and old world charm linked to the historical experience from the Daphne du Maurier book. Breakfast was more than most could handle and well cooked. Whatever window you looked out of gave you a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. The Inn is close to a lake that was surprisingly huge and scenic and a number of other great places for walking such as the beautiful Golitha Falls walk. Also reasonably easy access to the north and south coasts of the County.

Nothing really apart from one evening meal could have been a bit better as the vegetables were close to being raw but others may like it that way. The pie that accompanied them was good though

We returned to the fabulous Jamaica Inn as we enjoyed it so much last year. We love the location, the historic building, the yummy food, the excellent service, the great facilities and the whole unique atmosphere. We paid extra later to have a balcony room. It was nice to see the stars on the only non-rainy day we were there! The room was very cosy with form bed and TV with Sky channels. The bathroom was immaculate with a decent bath, nice toiletries and a cute rubber duck! Thank you for another memorable stay. Hope to see you next year :) !

Nothing really. It was unusual to see a large collection of dirty glasses and used cups from other rooms on the ledge directly outside our door after checking-in. They were still there in the morning after we had breakfast the next day.

We have a perfect stay at The Jamaica Inn and loved our room which was The daphne De maurier Suite. It was enormous and the decor was really good. It had lots of things on the walls about Daphne de Mauriers life and her writing. The bed was so big and comfortable and we loved how you could close the curtains with a press of a button. We had supper in the Inn which was really good with a very large piece of haddock on the fish and chips. Breakfast was also really good with lots of choice. We would definately love to come back again as it was not trippery as lots of people said it would be

Nothing.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Accommodation location and breakfast was good

Evening meal was far from satisfactory. I asked for my lamb to be well done stated no pink. When it arrived was very pink so sent it back. The same meal came back 10 minutes later still pink. By which time my partner had eaten his meal, I couldn't be bothered to send it back again.so ate what I could and left the rest. Mentioned to the waitress that it wasn't what I had asked for and she said she would pass it on but they probably wouldn't do anything.... they didn't.
