The location for the purpose of our visit was perfect …. the staff were warm, friendly and extremely helpful, taking our bags up to the room whilst we enjoyed a drink in the café downstairs. the room was beautiful, clean and the facilities were great with a small kitchenette, small sofa seating area and small table and chairs inside for eating plus outside table on terrace area large spacious well appointed bathroom which was beautifully decorated. everything you could have needed for your stay was provided with iron, ironing board, hairdryer and kettle provided along with fluffy white towels and locally famous coffee and a great and guide book. Extra special mention must go though to the amazing bed !! this was without doubt the most comfortable bed we have slept in for 20yrs or more …..so much so I stripped the sheets to find the mattress make to purchase one for home. we have stayed a few times now in Lincoln as our daughter has attended university there and all in all we can only highly recommend The Rest as the best hotel we have stayed in not just here but anywhere!! 5* and more if we could, many thanks to the wonderful staff who offer a personal touch (like a handwritten note for us on arrival) without being intrusive. We will,from now, on only be staying here for any future visits (some already planned).

Absolutely nothing to not like

Right by Cathedral quarter, was hard to spot initially and we weren't sure how to get in, however all good. Room was clean, comfortable and self contained and there was a nice little patio area outside the room. The staff were attentive and friendly.

I couldn't open the blind to the skylight so the room was a little dark when we first got there. The bathroom was airy though. I managed to open the skylight however having the blind open would have let more light in. We were only there overnight so no big deal to us.

The location was perfect, although steep hill is hard work!!! The room was just right and had everything needed for 1 night but also if I had stayed, longer I spent time sat out on the outside space. It was so peaceful with just the bells chiming I also sat near the window in the cafe for breakfast and could look for miles around the country

I honestly don't think there was anything I didn't like

Loved the location , the room was really great, well thought through & all very convenient.

The pillows were a little lumpy and could be replaced , it was quite a small room - but perfectly kitted out & loved the easy access. Breakfast wasn’t open until 10am - which was a little late for us , but plenty of options nearby.

Although the accommodation was situated on a steep hill, it was perfect for what we wanted. Felt the area is the better side to Lincoln

It was very hot at the time of our stay therefore some sort of temperature adjustment would have been much appreciated.

Loved the location ,and the room was clean and comfortable with all facilities. The staff were welcoming and friendly . Will definitely be coming back .
