Room was clean, spacious and relaxing. Everything was in good working order. Excellent location in the lively heart of the city, by the marina, restaurants and shops. Midday checkout is great, especially when on a short break.

The hotel car park was very convenient, but it seems stingy to charge paying guests £10 per night - even more than the mutli storey round the corner. Our stay was fine although we were given a room with interconnecting doors to another. At times we could hear every word (and snore!) from next door. We were lucky to have quiet neighbours, but it could be a problem for others.

All the members of staff were very friendly and helpful.Nice simple check in great room and excellent breakfast with plenty of choices.On-site parking was good and hotel location was ideal for visiting Lincoln

Only a few minor issues no dressing gowns or slippers as quoted on facilities which was a little disappointing as did not bring my own expecting them to be there to use on making enquiries about this was told “we haven’t had them for ages”. Another annoying small thing a small packet of biscuits was in our room on arrival but next day nothing when asked about this was told they were a welcome gesture on arrival but not everyday we were staying four days and if this is the policy maybe it needs to change as the room cost us the same for each day

We had a fabulous stay at the HOLIDAY INN LINCOLN - the only thing that let us down was the grey dreary weather. Our Room was a delight - clean bright and spacious with views over the Brayford Wharf. The bed was comfy and we really appreciated the fridge and kettle with free tea, coffee and biscuits. We really looked forward to the sumptuous scrumptious breakfasts every morning with lots of choice and cooked really well with the Breakfast Staff and Management friendly and eager to please - superb. The location was also great with a Tesco Express next door and we were close to a variety of restaurants with cuisines from around the world and walking distance to the Train and Bus Station and to the Cathedral, Castle and Museums.

The Hotel was great but the Front Desk Staff are surly and unfriendly…..that’s if you could find one at the Desk. No help, no information or advise - just annoyed one word answers to queries. The In-House Restaurant was ridiculously expensive. We ordered 2 fish meals and both were unavailable which the Barman thought was funny - couldn’t stop smiling about that. I wanted to go elsewhere but my wife wanted to try the Korean Street Chicken burger so I had a Burger and Fries……I think they were 14 or 15 of them - hardly a portion.

I didn’t state a preference for a quiet room. I said we would like to check in between 2pm and 3pm. Lovely location with a view of the river side. Comfortable beds. Good variety at breakfast. Welcoming staff... particularly at breakfast. Nice area to sit in whilst waiting to check in. Parking on site.

Some confusion regarding access to hotel.As the waterfront says pedestrian access we reversed and drove away looking for an alternative access. It was a local person who told us we could drive along the water front to get to the hotel. One very minor thing....we were short of teabags in our room.

The room was clean with plenty of room. Tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits was a nice touch. Huge comfy bed without all those silly pillows you get in some places. All staff were really helpful and polite. Bathroom shower gels and handwashes were good quality that smelt great. Plenty of towels. Good choice of breakfasts.

Breakfast was a bit hectic. Not enough staff on. Customers queueing up on the staircase to be seated as tables had not been cleared. Some items on the cooked breakfast had run out and were not replaced in time for my breakfast. They need to look at organisation at breakfast as staff seemed stressed. Got to say they still were very friendly, just short staffed maybe.

The room was too warn and no lighter duvet /sheet option (I did ask). i ticked the option for no room service for 3 days in return for a drink, staff said no. I booked for a twin room, but not available even though still on booking site. also bombarded with upgrade bidding auction ?? so i placed a bid, which was rejected, only to find staff offered to upgrade me at reception, all very confusing. I booked a train as parking was "tight" but then they offered parking at short notice which was too late. This was not staffs fault but system needs an upgrade

The room was spacious. The holiday inn staff/management helped solve the problem caused by Booking.com - by moving us to a double room with a sofa bed made up. The room was very nice. The location was very good and the breakfast was good. Staff were helpful.

Booking.com messed up my booking - I specifically asked for a room with twin beds but was allocated a double. It was not clear on the booking site that one could only state a preference and had to accept what was given. This is not acceptable. I have had problems with previous Booking,com bookings so I will think twice before using Booking.com again.

The location on the waterfront is nice and very convenient for the university. Reception was polite and helpful. Breakfast was good, although the fried eggs had been on the buffet a little too long. Our room was a good size.

The main issue for me was a noisy air conditioner. It was located right next to one of the beds and it would probably have been OK if it was running consistently, but it was stopping and starting every few minutes, which I found really disturbing when I was trying to get to sleep. There were also a lot of LEDs, which my wife finds disturbing. The hotel car park would have been convenient if there was space.

We enjoyed the breakfasts; lots of gluten-free and dairy free options. Breakfast staff were welcoming and attentive. The shower room looked modernised, and the shower was lovely and powerful. Hotel overall was clean. The barcsnd restaurant had been modernised and well presented. Reception staff were welcoming and tried their best to accommodate our preferences.

The rooms look old and neglected. Our view of the wharf was restricted by the entrance. We were offered a different room on a different floor. However, that room was less appealing than the room we stayed in.

Very helpful and friendly staff in a great hotel overlooking Brayford Pool. We were upgraded to a Pool view. The location was excellent. The were lots of bars and restaurants next door. We know this but booked breakfast at the hotel and am glad we did. It was excellent value and great quality. From cereal, fresh fruits, pastries and toast to full English and much more, it was excellent. Cooked items were hot. The bed was comfy. Aircon worked well. Excellent sized shower.

Aircon took a bit of working out and took time to adjust to new settings, but once sussed out, it worked well. There really wasn't anything to dislike. Great place.
