The moment we arrived we were both greeted with a warm welcome from the receptionist. I said that we were both deaf she went away to speak to another member of staff and grab hold of the fireco deafgard fire alarm equipment. Offering ease and accessibility for us. Which was very kind of her. The hotel is charming, pleasant and cozy. It has a lovely feel to the place with it warm atmosphere. The hotel was quite impressive with its decor and stylist. The hotel is located near the Royal Albert Docks which has for all the things you like to do.

There nothing bad to say about the property.

Poor service at reception. No links worked on emails sent on lead up to stay so unable to access any options to upgrade and when asked at reception told busy and come back later, which we did to get a negative response. Staff really let the hotel down. Cleaning staff very friendly reception staff not so. Like many hotels room very dark so difficult to find a mirror to put make up on. Good environment offer for free drink in exchange for not having room cleaned but the value meant we had little choice. Safe in room did not work.

I've been here several times before. The location puts me off a little – not being by the water, which is great – as it is a bit of a walk from the main shopping and fun areas of the city, and quite a way from Liverpool Lime Street. But it's not a biggie and the view out of the rooms is more than adequate compensation.

Perhaps I am getting a little old, or the Mal is, but it does seem to lack a little bit of the cheekiness and unexpected delights that it was famed for. Again, that still doesn't mean that it isn't any good, because it is still a great hotel and still shows other hotels how to do it.

It's a fabulous hotel, in fact, I've never stayed in one so colourful we loved it. Good location. Dog friendly hotel too. We would definitely stay there again. The staff were lovely, always had a smile. It was a last minute booking for us to be in Liverpool for the new year. The room was nice and clean, lovely fluffy towels, we had plenty of tea and coffee, and we usually take our Yorkshire teabags wherever we go. Breakfast was good. What more can I say? It was a fabulous few days. Thank you Malmaison, and Happy New Year!

It's a little dark in the room, not a moan, though.

It was so beautiful! Such a lovely destination to everything and close by! Car park next door was perfect for us and we felt so so safe. It’s lovely to stay in such a lovely environment and felt so welcomed! Thank you for having us!! We can’t wait to come back already.

I got an email about wanting to upgrade my stay and when I emailed back about what’s included and how to upgrade, I was told that I don’t need to until I arrive I can do it then but when we came we couldn’t upgrade as it was booked up. We understood that it was busy for a wedding venue but would have loved to upgraded especially when being told we could go start with.

Staff were great just did not have a fridge but all an all everything was excellent lovely friendly staff 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Decor was great Room was quirky and nice Location was good Food was lovely We had a club room, bathrobes were a nice touch. Offered a drink per person if we didn't have our room cleaned. For a 2 night stay, this was great.

Breakfast was lovely, but the bowl it came in was very hot, I was not advised and did burn my fingers, resulting in blisters. On a different day, one of the waiting staff coughed all over the pastries. No handover mouth or made any attempt to turn away. Maintenance man walked into our room without knocking. Mattess was old, definitely a roll into the middle of the bed

Extremely modern and exceptionally clean with staff continually to do so throughout the stay, plumping up cushions and ensuring comfortable. Bar staff very friendly and welcoming. You only had to say your room number once and all remembered so excellent attention to detail. I travel with my border collie Gwen and as ever Malmaison is an excellent place to stay with a pet. Excellent location on the docks. There was a slight issue with final payment, but Paige from Accounts resolved this post stay in a timely and efficient manner.

Great facilities and location. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The food and service (Michael) in the restaurant in the evening was excellent. Big thank you all round. Would definitely stay again.

Would have been good to have some complimentary bottles of water in the room, absence probably only noted as it was an exceptionally hot day, and a plug socket by the mirror (or mirror by the plug socket) for doing our hair, but these are only very small points.

Stylish hotel, beautiful surroundings felt very much at ease as I stayed with my 15 year old son to watch Liverpool play. Our twin room was lovely, breakfast was amazing lots of pastries, tea, coffee and a outstanding full English breakfast!! Will definitely book again... Really enjoyed the location especially walking along the waterfront felt very safe gorgeous at night all lit up. All staff were super helpful & very professional, made our stay very enjoyable thank you....

The mirrors in the bathroom are very truthful ha ha... only joking everything was fantastic!
