Beautiful grand old building, all high ceilings and grand staircases. Nice antique and vintage furnishings throughout, along with an interesting selection of original artworks. Lovely bathrooms with a big roll top bath. Really nice toiletries. Staff were very friendly.

Upstairs corridors aren't quite as grand, and some things are a little faded and in need of a refresh and redecoration. It was a little cold in the morning, the heating didn't seem to be on. With just a bit of investment, though, (and i know it's a really tough time for the hospitality trade to even think about things like that) I genuinely think this place could become the nicest boutique hotel in the city. The bare bones are there.

The hotel room was so comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bath was ridiculously comfortable after a chiropractor visit. Everybody, including evening cleaning staff team was very friendly. Our dog Smudge was very happy here and made to feel really welcome. Staff were 'down to earth' which was nice as sometimes hotel employees can come across as 'pretentious'. Here, I felt the team were naturally friendly whilst remaining professional.

Would have liked to have eaten in the restaurant but I believe it is closed. This is not made clear from outside the building. However, the hotel resolved this in my opinion by providing a select few of recommended restaurants in the vicinity.

Characterful old hotel not far from the waterfront. Staff were all lovely. Bed was comfortable, roll top bath was great. Room was quiet, generally you can hear the seagulls down that end of town but our room was quiet. Our room was quite small but we were only there for one night and it was perfect for us. Loved the curtains! Nice looking bar downstairs, didn't use on this occasion tho. Much nicer than a soulless chain hotel.

Nothing major but some aspects of the room were a bit tatty, and wouldn't have taken much to resolve ie missing knobs on the desk drawers (easy to replace) and broken veneer (just colour in the gaps), and would have really lifted the overall appeal of the room. Shower gel dispenser needed filling. Otherwise for the price we paid it was fine.

Very nice stay at Racquet Club. A few blocks away from Liverpool’s nightlife hotspots in Liverpool and distinct touristic spots located on the docks. The One center shopping is at a walking distance from the hotel. Room was spotless, has tall roof and windows which give you a nice view of the streets. Heaters are provided and service is very complete. The hotel is a beautiful antique building which hosts events until reasonable hours in accordance to Liverpool nightlife. Would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the heart of Liverpool and not going to sleep so early.

Although everything was perfect, price was somewhat high for this time of year and the experience the hotel has to offer but I think it was due to the comic con taking place that weekend and everywhere was fully booked

It was a beautiful building with a wonderful history. I adored the period features such as the bar, paintings, lamps, wooden bed, claw foot bath tub and the high ceiling rooms. I think the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I felt like we were treated like kings but also like old friends.

This is not trying to be negative in any way - we loved our stay. I adore the bath but not too keen on the rain shower as I don’t think it is suited to a bath. We would prefer a shower hose type shower.

A former Private Members Club in a majestic building. The Public Spaces lend themselves to Private Functions. Large spacious bedroom with interesting art work hanging on the walls.

No “Cooked Breakfast” option, however, we were made aware of this prior to stay. A “Continental Breakfast” option is available by pre-booking. Nearby “Ma Boyle’s” does a great breakfast, lunch and / or dinner.

Though we found the actual front door a little hard to find, the hotel is brilliantly located for Liverpool's attractions along the docks - Liver Building, Museum of Liverpool etc, only a 5 minute walk away. We found some lovely cafes and restaurants in the area too. The room (number 2) was a good size and had a double and a single bed and a very nice bath. Having heard stories of noise from the restaurant below, I rang ahead to find out if there would be any function on. There was not, and the room was quiet all night and I got a very comfortable night's sleep. Reception were helpful and attentive without being obtrusive. Though there was no breakfast listed in the booking they said we could help ourselves to coffee, juice, toast & croissants that were available. Wi-fi worked in the room without any problems. No early check-in but staff were happy to take in our bags so we could explore the city before coming back. Reception was well-manned throughout the day and evening.

Very little - the shower dripped a bit when I was in the bath and the H from the hot tap kept coming off but these are very minor quibbles. I did have to ask for wi-fi code - and the room did not have any guest information about local restaurants etc. Might be nice to provide that in the rooms. A little on the pricy side - though that may have been due to location and the Grand National taking place.

The staff are lovely and super helpful, the location is convenient, the building is elegant, and the rooms are well equipped.

Note that the accommodation is essentially bedrooms above entertainment function rooms, so when there are functions going on, there is substantial noise, though this did stop just after midnight when we were there.

Nice, friendly receptions and a nice clean warm room. Close to the Pierhead and very close to the town centre. All good here! Would I stay here again? Yes I would.

Maybe a tad more on the tea front, a herbal teabag perhaps, couple of biscuits but I'm quibbling since asked. Other facilities I didn't really see or look into.
