The staff at the reception ( special thanks to Jake) and in the restaurant was very friendly and competent! Whenever I return to London, I will stay in this hotel.

Very uncomfortable pillows - feather? I left with a very sore back/arms and was not well rested at all. window was blocked so very little natural sunlight coming through. Breakfast not included in price and it cost the price of a 3 course meal to add it on. The day prior to arrival, the cost of a superior room was less than our booking for a basic room, therefore I messaged to request a swap. I was advised this needed to be completed via telephone, however was not in a position to call. Keep an eye on prices after booking as I changed our booking a few times and got it for much less than originally booked.

The Apex is in an excellent location for those wanting to explore the Tower of London area. The staff were friendly & helpful, our room clean & surprisingly quiet. We didn’t have breakfast our first day as I’d been put off by previous reviews but did the second. I don’t know if they’ve changed the system but you’re able to pick one hot item off the menu, ranging from full English, to Eggs Benedict, to pancakes then there’s a help yourself stand to cold items including juice, cereal, pastries & the most amazing blueberry muffins. The food was excellent & there were more than enough staff on who were attentive & professional. You’re a 5 minute walk from the Tower of London, Katherine’s dock has plenty of bars & restaurants, Tower Bridge tour was interesting with great views & Borough market worth a visit. I chose this hotel as it was the right balance between location & budget for us & would definitely go back.

The hotel is well decorated. The room is so modern, clean, and comfy. Good design bathroom. The window is large with a view of nice city centre buildings. The complimentary provided are great and thoughtful. It's close to Tower Hill underground and a short walk to bus stops that can take you to key attractions. The area around is so nice to explore. I'd love to stay again. Staff is superb too!

The price is quite high, but I feel it's worth it. The main guest lift ground floor button is out of order so I had to use the route that is not really intended for guests. A bit hiccup of experience on that but still OK.

Booked up on a whim for a night in London, and was extremely surprised how brilliant this hotel is! All the staff were exceptional friendly and helpful. The room booked was the thin end of the prices for the night but the standard of the room was exceptional. Didn't book breakfast but should have done if it's the same standard of the lunch we had in the restaurant.

Finding the lift took a little while as the signage wasn't easily visible, and couldn't find stairs to the seventh floor as we would have preferred to use the stairs. I'm sure had we asked a staff member they would have have shown us happily.

We liked all from this place, since the beginning and before we arrive, we receive welcoming messages about our stay, in reception people were very friendly, one of the receptionists speaked spanish which was a great touch because it make us feel very welcome. The room was big and had enough room for our bulky luggage, all was very clean and organized, the room had a nice smell too and wall were very thick, so we hear no noises from corridor or so. Our room had a very nice view of the Tower Bridge of London which was an extra. The location is great as you can walk to many places and tub station is also very close.

The staff were very helpful and addressed any concern very promptly. The location was also lovely allowing us to visit the Christmas market on London Bridge. We booked this on an offer at a reduced rate which was value for money for London. Without the reduced rate I would say the hotel was the average price of London hotels of the same standard.

The heating/air conditioning system was a little difficult to navigate and we were unable to get a comfortable temperature for the room which led to us being too hot over night but this could equally be down to us not being very technical. At one point we called reception to help and they did arrive promptly to help.

Simone and Jose at the front desk were so helpful and kind. You could tell they had that rare quality you sometimes find-- enjoying being excellent. (Dragan who checked us out was great too.). Everyone in the hotel, the restaurant, housekeeping, was great. The room is simple and practical with an intelligent design. Lovely porch on the 7th Floor, nice shower, comfortable bed with welcoming sheets and duvet. Huge desk area for work, small reefer and a kettle. Great closet space and room for an opened suitcase on the floor under the TV's, so my wife could slide it out while mostly keeping it out of the way. We loved this place.

There were two nearly identical Samsung TV's, one arranged in front of a cute pink lounger (I'd like to take home). The longer had great light during the day since it was next to a window, but it lacked a reading light--though I do get most are on an illuminated screen these days. And both TV's often responded to one remote, so you needed to block the receptor of one, or angle the remote away and hope for the best.

Loved how lovely the staff were especially Robert at the restaurant and the two very excellent staff members at the reception when we checked in. I can't the girls name but she had a slight northern and so very very lovely. She gave us a 12 o'clock check out when asked if that was available and was just so helpful, friendly, but not too friendly and very well presented with gorgeous nails. All in all, she and the other receptionist actually made us love the hotel right from the very start of our quite short, but very intense stay. Robert from the restaurant made sure that we had a well needed sandwich and bottle of wine waiting for us in the room, when we arrived back at 4am in the morning. We were really very happy!

The only thing I could fault was the food. We ordered a Mains spaghetti which was more like a Starter size and far too creamy. Drenched with cream. We loved having the Club Sandwich waiting for us in our room at 4am, but it was 'trying far to hard'. The sourdough bread was too thick and the chicken slice was more like a fillet. More like a full main course meal. Some people might we happy with hugeness of it all but wasn't rocking my boat! All in all the service was impeccable. And you had to feel sorry for the young trainee who spilt a glass of wine and broke the glass. Another wonderful member of staff came straight to his side, apologised and brought me another glass of wine immediately. All First Class Service.

+Great location in City of London , close to Tower Hill. + Superb cleanliness and general presentation. Housekeeping were very attentive . + Tasteful interior design. Well appointed rooms with high ceilings. + Quiet. We slept very well. + Fridge in room. + Comprehensive guest services (24/7 front desk, room service , bar etc) + Front desk team were professional and approachable. + View onto St Olaves Church from our room was beautiful.

- The Lampery (Hotel Restaurant and Bar) Excellent quality food and drink but amateur, sloppy service. An uneasy tense atmosphere . - Lighting in the room lacked customisation. Only one chair in room . (No sofa or armchair.)
