we had a email to say we were being moved to the sister hotel due to short staffed(but talking to other establishment this is a wide spread problem at the moment in hospitality and cant be helped), which was sent in time before the trip and the sister hotel was next door, 10 mins walk from Russell Street tube station, great first impression, lovely hotel amazing garden at the back , room was lovely, staff great., loved room 315 as it was on the top floor in a corner, we had the continental breakfast, great selection but could upgrade to a English for £4 each if we wanted so good option if you change your mind the neighbor behind the garden is the British museum, quite area but a lot of eateries, bars and shops in walking distance great hotel would go again would stop again in a heart beat

only thing was the extractor fan wasnt working well not a biggy reported it and they said it would get fixed , but the room was so hot but windows were open so all was well, due to the short staff there was no drinks on draft at the bar so a bit pricey but hey we were on a break so you just get on with it other than that no issues would definitely stop again and have mentioned how good it was to family and friends already

Our booking was transferred to the Grange White Hall next door (both hotels owned by same company) The Grange White was very nice with a bar and restaurant as well as a large outdoor garden space to enjoy. Our room was spacious, light, clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from, we also spend the extra £4.00pp to have the full English breakfast, a plentiful well cooked buffet breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As we were spending the rest of the day in London after we checked out reception offered to keep our bags safe to collect later that day. Thank you!

no issues or anything we did not like

Friendly helpful staff. Room was comfortable but decor needs updating.. Bath was difficult to get in and out of for a shower as it was very high. Fortunately we are fit enough to manage it. It was lovely to have breakfast in the garden. Food available was limited for continental breakfast but quality was satisfactory.. Location was good for our plans. Easily accessible on foot from King's Coss. Would book again.

nicely kept hotel and great value for money

I booked a second night for my son and contacted the hotel to get the booking merged so he wouldn’t have to change rooms. I got a confirmation email but when he arrived staff couldn’t find his booking. This was eventually sorted out and my son paid for both nights but at midnight when he returned from the wedding his key wouldn’t work and staff said they couldn’t find his booking again ! I had to get dressed and come downstairs to sort it out. when I checked out I wanted to speak to the manager to see if they would offer me a complementary stay for the disruption. the lady said they would call me but no one has. I have rung again and been told someone would call but no one has.

Location was good. Within walking distance of Euston and Covent Garden and right behind the British Museum. The bed was huge and comfy, lots of hot water and a big bath and very quiet at night.

We stayed in the White Hall Hotel. This hotel was a last minute change made by the chain. Our original booking was in their neighbouring hotel, The Grange Blooms. The windows rattled in the slightest breeze. The lighting in the bedroom was poor. And overall everything looked and felt tired compared to the nice looking decor of the Blooms.

Great location right next to the British Museum. Ideal for exploring Covent garden and surrounding areas. Hotel was lovely and we had an upgrade which meant we had a four poster bed. Bathroom had a bath and a shower. Room had a very tall ceiling and window, but excellent black out blinds and curtains. TV was also in the room. The wardrobe a good size. The kettle was kept in a small drop down box on the wall and was supplied with plenty of coffee and tea. Continental breakfast had plenty of choices- cereal, toast, cheese, meats, boiled eggs, pastries, fruit and yoghurt. Cooked breakfast available at a supplement.

Mattress was a bit uncomfortable and the rooms were too warm at times. Room was fairly limited on space due to the four poster bed.

Staff were brilliant. - location superb.

Nothing really - except that I felt booking.com did place breakfast staff in an invidious position. We encountered several guests questioning why they couldn’t avail themselves of an English breakfast when it does state on booking.com - ‘breakfast included’….it doesn’t specify continental only. Think the majority of guests reading that and going to England would expect a full breakfast…..needs clarification out of respect to staff…..

Excellent continental breakfast and the location can't be bettered for British Museum and West End theatre - yet a quiet street at night. We were able to leave a bag after we checked out to collect later, no charge and no fuss. And there was a bath, always a bonus and not usual in London.

Once again we had to use a hotel next door to the one booked but it wasn't an issue - the other one is fine - and we did get a free drink to compensate. The beer offer in the bar is a bit limited and no cider at all. But these are tiny matters.

I have stayed at the Grange White Hall hotel before and was hoping to stay at the Blooms this time, and my ratings are for the White Hall.

I was changed to the White Hall at the last minute, and noted that the Blooms next door was closed. This is the second time this has happened to me. The White Hall bar was poorly staffed and we had long waits for service, supplies or ice.
