Nice cozy feel. Beautiful old building. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Good food at dinner too. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel. Bedroom was a compact design but not cramped. Bathroom and shower were very good although not massive but obviously the age of the building dictates the room available. The hotel is well placed centrally for all activities.

We were unable to use the room safe because of a fault. Despite reporting it a few hours after arrival it remained unusable throughout our stay. Slightly disappointing as everything else was quite good and well run. There is no air-conditioning and the window would only open a few inches, even so, we slept well.

The staff was very friendly and we liked the hotel as a whole. The fact that they don’t have their own parking lot was not an issue as there is a large parking lot in Bishop Street. The rates are okay as there’re no charges over night. The bathroom was really nice, the room was nice too, although it was not too big. The selection of cooked breakfast options is quite wide, but there is no buffet. So you have to order everything at the table and you have to tell staff the evening before when you plan to come. The hotel is right in the centre, which is great. But it can also get loud for brief periods.

The matress in our bed was not really good as we felt quite a few springs.

This hotel is a little gem situated right in the heart of the city. The décor throughout is beautiful. The Abbey room we had was fantastic, plenty of storage, had all the necessities you need. We had a monsoon shower in our room which was wonderful, very powerful. The bed was beyond comfortable, I have always loved a certain hotel chains beds and this one here was on a par with them, fantastic nights sleep. The bar and restaurant are fabulous, food was delicious. The best thing about this hotel is the staff, everyone from management to housekeeping, the staff are so friendly and warm, they can’t do enough for you. Every member of staff I interacted with was just lovely, they really are a credit to the hotel. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone, and when we return to visit this fabulous city I will be staying here again. You also get a welcome glass of bubbly on arrival.

I can honestly say there was nothing I did not like about this property, one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in.

Location inside the walls was lovely and convenient for the walls, the Guildhall and the Peace Bridge. You had to park in a car park down the road but that wasn’t difficult. The staff are great and we were greeted with help with our luggage and a glass of Prosecco! Fab! The same happened at breakfast which was a lovely touch. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom and toiletries were very nice. We would definitely return if we are in Derry again.

On the second night we did have some extractor/generator noise outside our room which meant we had to shut our windows on a hot night. This wasn’t the hotels fault as we think the noise came from the nearby shopping centre but it was a bit frustrating.

1) Parking - We were fortunate to get parked on the street outside. The hotel does advise of other options. Reception advised us of how to avoid parking fines when parking on-street. 2) Staff - Friendly and helpful throughout. 3) Facilities - Room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable, and clean. Shower, with over-head shower head, was particularly enjoyable. 4) Food and drink - We had dinner in the hotel, which was fantastic - one of, if not the best meals we had in our 10-11 day stay in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Breakfast next morning was also very good. The hotel also accommodated a change in our dinner reservation at short notice.

I can't fault anything about the hotel. We didn't find there was lots to do in Derry, so I'm not sure I would recommend it as a place to visit in general, but that's subjective, and the Shipquay Boutique Hotel was an exceptional place to stay. There was a bit of street noise, but nothing too distruptive, and we stayed on what seemed a relatively lively Friday night.

The reception area is tastefully decorated and smells wonderful thanks to a diffuser, the receptionists were very friendly, efficient and professional. Lovely touch of offering a glass of prosecco in arrival!!!!! Our room was a good size with all that you would expect, toiletries, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities and a fan which we definitely needed!!! Meeting Tom Allen who we were in Derry to watch at the Millennium Forum was brilliant!!! He stayed in the same hotel!!!!

The heating came on in the morning 😆😆🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 not good!!!! Unfortunately, Thursday night must be "meet up night" for the Fast and Furious crew of Derry 🚘🚗🚘🚘🚘🤣🤣🤣🤣 OMG they zoomed up and down the road with their muffler exhausts!!!!!...... not the hotel's fault but very funny!!!!

The staff at the Shipquay are exceptional. We arrived early and they gladly took care of our luggage, when we returned in the afternoon, we were greeted with a complimentary Prosecco. I would thoroughly recommend the restaurant for dinner, the ambience was beautiful and the food delicious. We had breakfast included as part of our booking and it did not dissapoint, plenty of variety and cooked to perfection. If we return to Derry (from Australia) we will definitely stay again.

Nothing, it was fabulous!!

I booked this hotel for my parents for a weekend away. They spent 2 nights here and absolutely loved it. They thought staff were great and nothing was too much to ask. Food and cleanliness was also exceptional, breakfast and dinner. They were more than happy with their room. Slightly smaller than what they're used to but still a brilliant stay.

There wasn't one complaint from my parents about this hote and I'm considering booking it for myself and my partner

The location, right in the centre of the walked city was the best! We received a very warm welcome and a complimentary glass of prosecco upon arrival, which was much appreciated. The room was immaculately clean with a huge and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely and again was offered a glass of prosecco afterwards. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, keeping our bags safe while we explored the city, before and after checking in and out. Couldn't have asked for a better stay.

The only thing that wasn't great was the room size, (quite small) but then again, it is a boutique hotel, and the view from our room, which was of the fire escape of the adjoining building, but, we were lucky to get a room at all at such a busy time.

There was a very warm welcome in reception on our arrival with a welcome glass of Prosecco. Wonderful atmosphere in the bar and the food was excellent it was busy on Saturday but Mary found us a table pretty quickly she is super efficient and friendly. Also a special mention to Caoimhin & Dessie in the bar for the lovely cocktails and the lovely lady on reception sorry I forgot your name who answered all our queries all the staff were excellent. Room was lovely although a bit small but spotlessly clean.

Nothing everything was excellent
