Liked the decor, the room and the breakfast

We accidentally left an expensive lightning phone charger plugged in (beside the dressing table, room 16) When we rang on the day we had left, to ask if it had been found, the receptionist said it hadn’t been handed in, and she was unable to check, as another guest had booked in to that room. We rang later, but we’re told it hadn’t been found. We didn’t feel convinced that a proper check had been carried out, as the person we spoke to seemed unconcerned. This was a pity, as we were very impressed with everything else about our stay.

The view from the restuarant was superb. The food was excellent quality and the staff were very friendly and efficient.

We had no view from our room which looked down onto an adjoining building roof above the main hotel entrance and was somewhat noisy with vehicles on the gravel path. I also thought the bar prices were a little high but maybe comparable with other hotels.

The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. Including the staff who were helping at breakfast. The bed was so comfy and the view was just amazing. I was also quite pleased to see salmon and scrambled egg as an option.

I was disappointed to find there was no lift as we had heavy bags and young children. Luckily we managed but be aware if there are any accessibility issues. We could have done with more towels being a family of 4. Also, I expected to have maybe a slightly partition family room for the price we paid. We ended up pushing the double beds together so the children wouldn’t fall out as they were quite high beds. I know I should have asked but I didn’t see any other milk options.

great selection and traditional breakfasts. Large breakfast and all cooked very well The haggis on the breakfast was new to me and extremely good The room was with a view of the sea and the golf course and it was excellent Communication with the hotel reception was excellent

I thought the dining tables could do with resurfacing as stains were on them all and they had very sticky surface

The situation of the hotel was beautiful, with stunning views onto the golf course and the Firth of Forth. The food was very enjoyable and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The building and grounds were well maintained and it felt very comfortable to be there. There are a lot of small galleries and artist studios in Lower Largo and along the East Neuk which make for lovely places to visit.

The room wasn't the brightest because there was only one small window. The walls were thin and we could hear the next room talking into the early hours of the morning.

Everything went better than I expected. The room with a balcony and spectacular sea views was the best I’ve ever been in. The bed was a bit harder than at home so I found it not quite as comfortable as usual and we were too hot. Everything else was just wonderful. We said we’d return one day. To go on to visit the Fife fishing villages was our plan, and the hotel was perfect for that. Very friendly and helpful staff. Perhaps a bit more parking required as we took the last space at 6.30 pm We only booked that morning, that’s how we like to do things, and you had a room available. It was more expensive than the average hotel, but I’d rather have one night at this hotel than two at a mediocre one. Breakfast was very good, the croissants as good as those in France. Excellent scrambled egg with smoked salmon. Honey as well as marmalade, which was good. At such an expensive hotel, the marmalade and jam should be home made. I didn’t really like the coffee. I’m not sure why. Perhaps just not like I make at home (Colombian ground). The evening meal was beautifully cooked, haddock mornay with vegetables. Good healthy food. With a table at the window, which was nice and private. Comfortable dining chairs. (The table was a bit sticky, I’m not sure why as it was perfectly clean). The gardens outside the windows were beautifully kept. No litter anywhere in the car park. Thank you, the whole trip went well because of the quality of this hotel.

Coffee. Marmalade and jam should be home made. We should have left the windows open at night to keep cool, our fault. Not enough parking. A bit expensive for a couple, perhaps you do special rates for groups?

Staff, breakfast and lounge lovely. Initial room was too dark as window small but staff helpfully arranged a switch to another room with more natural light, which was very much appreciated. Exceptionally clean.

Dinner was a little disappointing. Vegetarian dish tasty though side vegetables ordinary. Presentation poor for 4****.

The view from the room was amazing, looking across and from golf links into the sea and beyond. The sunrise was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious, never had Haggis for breakfast! The view was something else, the breakfast room was below our room but the view was different.

There really wasn't anything not to like, the staff were very helpful, the room clean and tidy with a huge bed and to food served was very tasty. Locating and price were perfect.

Room was comfortable and cosy. Had a little table with socket, great for working and WiFi worked well. Breakfast was fantastic, with a beautiful view of the sea and the golf course, and the second morning when I had a very early start the receptionist reported this to the night porter who kindly prepared some toast and a takeaway coffee for me - the staff are all excellent. Ideal location for me as I had work in the town, close to supermarkets, takeaways and petrol stations and main roads to other areas. Beautiful views! Never felt uncomfortable as a solo traveller.

Everything was great.

our room was very clean and comfortable. The 2 or 3 steps to the bathroom and way out were a bit unnerving for the elderly in the middle of the night! A handrail would be very helpful. There was a small issue with a bit of loose panel coming off the bath but we were told about it and it wasn’t a real problem. The restaurant has wonderful views and and the food at dinner and breakfast was very good indeed. staff were friendly and helpful. we would return.

the lack of a rail at a tricky little set of steps in our room- no.30?
