This was a late afternoon booking for the same night. Lovely looking place with a big car park. We had a room in the loft (apparently this was an upgrade). Room very hot but excellent aircon. Bathroom on one level and bedroom up a steep set of stairs. When we saw the age of the other guests I can see how we were offered an upgrade! (ageism- sorry). The place is huge with a lovely sunny rear garden. It is obviously a popular wedding venue and can certainly cope with the numbers.

Breakfast was disappointing. The table was not set properly. The food is buffet style but tepid at best. There wasn't anybody checking it regularly enough to keep the items topped up. In my case there were no eggs or tomatoes left so by the time the replacements arrived the rest of my tepid breakfast was cold. Is this a one off? I was reliably informed by another guest it was the same the day before. At 8:30am it was busy but not unmanageable and these are basic things to get right.

Environment and historical significance. Good food, generous portions. Friendly and helpful staff.

terrible phone signals and wifi. Slight mustiness probably due to age of buildings. Dining tables were a bit sticky.

Nice, clean (and upgraded - Thank you) room which was plenty big enough with an enormous comfortable bed, room nice and warm, nice hot shower, tea and coffee making facilities. Nice breakfasts too. Evening resturant food was of good quality too and very tasty (Can recommend the Belly Pork..) Hurley is a nice village too with walks to and along the Thames. Henley and Marlow not to far away and easy to get to (but beware Parking is a nightmare!!)

Lack of lights in our room - lots of switches/blanking plates... but most did nothing..and only one bedside light. Food in the resturant was a bit expensive (but as mentioned above very tasty..) and "gratutity/service" charge is automatically added, even for two... Lack of choice of cerals for breakfast (but plenty of other choices) . We were in the new part over the road but with only single pane glazing it got a bit noisy at times when cars raced past or turned round/parked on the gravel car park....The dawn chorus whilst lovley to listen to, is a bit of a shock that early too :-)

All staff were very friendly, particularly the girl on arrival. Room 27 was very spacious and it had a nice outlook, in a separate block in the car pack. We appreciated the cans of water in the room. The main building across the road had a nice restaurant and a large garden out the back. The food was very good at night. I enjoyed the cut fresh fruit for breakfast.

The cooked breakfast was cold and the scrambled egg was very dry, as it was being kept warm using a Bain Marie style warmers. Would be much better freshly cooked. The tea was also lukewarm as it was help yourself to the flask.

Hotel staff were kind and accommodating. Our rooms were not ready at checkin, but we were able to have coffee/tea/snacks in the lounge area. Deluxe king had lots of natural light and a garden view, also good pressure in shower. Comfy beds. Lovely lunch choices and coffees. GF options also. Great country wedding venue! Staff were exemplary. Although a newer building, the wedding hall interior had a lot of the charm of the main hotel. Quaint towns and villages nearby. Bijan's Kitchen is a wonderful Persian restaurant nearby. Renting a car or using uber/taxi is the best way to get to neighbouring towns such as Windsor or Maidenhead.

Breakfast buffet food seemed to run out early, but the staff tried their best to refill in a timely manner... Ironing board needed a quick fix, but was satisfactory.

The staff were absolutely lovely - very efficient and friendly. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice for both Continental and Full English. Our room was large and the bed enormous and comfortable. We were told by others that the food on the Christmas package was excellent - we only had B & B.

The room needed some TLC and the electrics in some places looked a bit dodgy. One bedside lamp didn't work which was annoying (reported as we left). Couldn't turn the wall lights off from the bed only by the door into the room. The shower was unpredictable - would only work on full heat and even then the water pressure came and went. The toilet looked as if it was leaking a bit from round the base. These things not reported at the time as it was Christmas so we didn't expect anything to be done until afterwards

Stayed for Valentine’s Day, very good price and we got upgraded for free as my girlfriend is pregnant - to one of the best rooms in the hotel. The room was spacious and cosy with good heating, and a big bathroom. Carlos was very helpful and kind, made the stay a lot better. Would definitely recommend would have stayed longer if we could.

The original room we were in was bit cold but can’t really complain for how cheap it was. The restaurant was fully booked when we went there but we were still seated in the pub area, which we didn’t mind at all as we were just happy to eat, but ended up going somewhere else because we didn’t like the set Valentine’s Day menu. Completely understand the restaurant being full as it was a busy night and we only tried to book an hour or so in advance.

A beautiful old building with wooden beams and meandering corridors. The staff were all youngsters but were wonderfully welcoming and friendly, a huge difference from most places you go now. Everything was absolutely spotlessly clean, I even wondered if my bedding was brand new! The bed was very comfortable and despite the buildings being nearly a millennium old, it was very warm. Don't expect modern finishes in this type of building. It was an excellent price including an excellent breakfast. I ate dinner in the restaurant and it was startlingly delicious, my components to the chef on his ox cheek and stout stew: exceptional. Free parking and they allow dogs. I was able to check in an hour early which was a very nice surprise.

If you're a single female traveller, consider asking to be reassigned rooms if given number 50. It's on the ground floor next to the main road and the windows are traditional so not super secure. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs as this is a popular place on a Saturday night it seems!

Breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice of hot and cold food. The full English was particularly good. Our table and location were perfect.

I wish the sign saying 'request a poached or fried egg' apposed to the scrambled that was in the warming dish, had been placed beside the plates. I plated my hot breakfast then reached the egg sign. If I had then ordered a fried egg, the rest of my food would have become cold! A simple re organisation is all that's needed. As it was I had the scrambled egg which was nice, but would rather have had a fried egg, as would two others in our party.

The room was exceptionally clean, the shower was very powerful loads of hot water. One member of staff seemed to be keeping everything running smoothly, Terry checked us in, was our waiter at dinner, while also checking more guests in, was working the bar later until closing time, taking deliveries etc etc! all while patient and friendly to all the guests. He was on for the breakfast shift as well! W ate dinner in the pub before going out for the evening and the food came quickly and to a very high standard. Was very good value, cheapest hotel by far, so I was a little worried, but The Olde Bell was fantastic
