Loved the location and the general ambience of the hotel. Food was excellent quality. Staff friendly

The hotel needed updating. Carpets were shabby and furniture old and uncomfortable. I didn't like the raised step to shower and sink as I fell down it twice as its easy to forget it's there. I also felt the breakfast service was incredibly slow and disjointed. Tea and coffee take 10mins to arrive and toast was just warmed up bread. We waited 40mins for breakfast on our final day. I feel this could be improved greatly. Also the amount of dogs staying was off putting and several times we were woken by dogs barking howling and scratching at the doors.

ALWAYS LOVE TO BE IN FRONT OF THE BAY BEST VIEW IN MORECAMBE, BEST BREAKFAST AND DINNER WAS EXCELLENT CREDIT TO THE CHEFS.

They didn't give me the walk in shower accessible room despite I'm obviously a full time wheelchair user, although they were willing to correct this I persevered with the low bath and sat on the side of the bath with the shower hose barely long enough. This was apparently a disabled room for people with reduced mobility but I pointed out that the hand rails were not enough as you would need to put your leg over the bath holding on to nothing but would be tempted to grab the glass panel which is extremely dangerous & a health hazard. Pillows were awful too small & way too soft.

The location for breakfast was exceptional. We booked an evening meal and this location too was delightful

The first time we stayed we had a superb room, very large, overlooking the sea. The rooms allocated us this time was very smaller, overlooking the car park. As we had booked the stay for a surprise 70th birthday for my brother in law we were extremely disappointed. We had been waxing lyrical regarding rooms and service, I have to say the rooms were a let-down unfortunately. Our relatives have said even so they would stay again as would we. Next I will ensure we are allocated the better rooms of even numbers!!!!

I had it in mind for 3 years that one day I would treat myself to a stay at The Midland and I was not disappointed in any way, shape or form. The approach to the hotel could be improved by moving the cars out of what once was a garden I understand but, on entering, the view through to the bay, the staircase, the welcome, everything was perfect. It's such a short, easy walk from the train station. I booked a sea view room which was an absolute pleasure to discover. I found the bed unexpectedly comfortable and the food at dinner and breakfast was super quality. There was a distinct lack of plastic too which falls in line with the way I aim to live life. I felt so welcome by the staff and I hung around most of the next day too. It was wonderful. I also enjoyed the art and history books in the entry hall.

We’d seen this hotel while cycling past on our Way of the Roses adventure 4 years ago and thought then how nice it would be to stay there. A friend had also recently stayed and highly recommended it so we decided to give it a try. We’re so pleased we did. It’s a great place. We had a wonderfully quirky room in a corner of the first floor with potentially the biggest bathroom we’d ever had in a hotel room, it was huge. Certain aspects of the room were a little tired but it all added to the ambience. We didn’t have dinner in the hotel but enjoyed a snack and a very good breakfast overlooking the sea. We loved the location of the hotel and enjoyed bracing walks along the sea front with far reaching views across the bay. The sunset was spectacular.

The only negative is Morecambe itself which, away from the sea front and promenade, we found rather depressing and run down with little in the way of attractions. Whilst we enjoyed our visit to The Midland very much its difficult to see us revisiting any time soon.

Absolutely Fabulous. The feature room had stunning views and we loved the sliding glass doors. The ambience of the place is second to none. Breakfast superb.

This seems like Nitpicking, but: when you pay a lot of money for your room, it would be nice if the newspaper delivered for your room was Complimentary... Also, at breakfast we were disappointed to only be given one slice of toast each with your meal... no offer of any more...On the staircase, we noticed mud over several stairs. This was not cleaned up during our stay.... Due to the large glass frontage, the hotel naturally is a suntrap and we felt sorry for the staff working in the bar/restaurant area in what must have been uncomfortable temperatures.

We booked a short holiday specifically to stay at The MIdland to add to our collection of Art Nouveau hotels visited and it couldn't have been better. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Our room had a balcony overlooking the sea and the location was sufficiently removed from the traffic noise for us to sleep with the windows open and the sound of the waves breaking to lull us to sleep. This isn't a "budget hotel" so rooms are mid-range prices but worth every penny.

Morecambe? Well, could do with a spruce up to be fair (and, credit where it's due, this seems to be happening, especially at the Winter Gardens).

Without question, The Midland Hotel experience is/was outstanding, we thoroughly enjoyed our Art Deco stay at this Hotel which is World renowned. The Reception Staff are friendly, with a warm Guest experience which is much appreciated. Our Room was located on the Second Floor with views across the Centre of Morecambe and beyond, the Room was spacious, I hope my Photographs will speak volumes rather than my words. Our Breakfast, Afternoon Tea, and Dinner were a delight. Again my Photographs are here speaking my words complimenting the overall Dining experience. The Waiting Staff is a young team who are more than happy to make the Guest Experience Memorable.

There was nothing to report. our overall stay was a memorable experience, one which was a happy event, and we appreciate how the Reception Staff and Waiters worked hard to make each guest happy.

The Midland is an elegant, unique hotel with bags of history, yet has modern and comfortable facilities. The dining room is long and narrow with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the whole of Morecambe Bay. The view is ever-changing and watching the tides and the most incredible sunsets while eating dinner is a great experience. The breakfast menu is extensive and the food is fresh and tasty. All the staff were friendly and professional, especially those on reception and Arden (?) in the evening restaurant, but there was no hint of staff grumpiness as mentioned in previous reviews. Bar prices are on the high side, but it's to be expected in such a lovely venue. If you want a quiet, relaxing atmosphere, the Midland is perfect. If you want night life, then you won't find it here. Our standard double room was bigger than expected and is cleverly designed to create as much space as possible. Although not a sea view, we could see the beach and the hills of the Lake District from our window, My partner and I really enjoyed our 5 night break here and we will definitely return.

The location is the primary like. After that, the size of room and the well thought out storage of it. We were relieved that it was not the least snobby or pretentious, in fact we found the mainly young staff to be very pleasant and friendly. The breakfast fare provided good choice and was of excellent quality. The bar and bar food was equally good, and even the prices were not outrageous as we had feared.

Breakfast service was a bit stretched although not a problem for us as we were never in a hurry anyway. The staff were obviously trying hard though. I'd suggest maybe find a way to prevent overly large vehicles obstructing the path towards the steps of the hotel.
