The friendliness of the reception on arrival, warm welcoming with smiley face. The room was very clean, fresh and spacious, nicely decorated no scuffs or stains, with a beautiful view out of the window. We had dinner in the bar restaurant, it had an excellent warm Irish vibe, again with such warm knowledgeable friendly staff. The food was very good quality, well cooked and presented. Breakfast the next morning was again the same warm and welcoming. Great selection of cereals, yogurt, fruit and juices, followed by a hearty cooked breakfast. Waiting staff were very efficient, you could tell they genuinely cared about you. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, and would definitely stay here again. Housekeeping kept the room neat, fresh and tidy, with clean towels and complimentary bottled water, well stocked shower gel and shampoo etc.

Excellent rooms - spacious, with a huge bed. Clean bathroom (would have liked a shower head that can be manoeuvred). Tea tray with biscuits and satellite TV. Really lovely staff - the receptionist helped us to get a taxi back into EIRE. Evening and breakfast food was delicious - served hot and reasonable prices. Excellent selection of goodies in the bathroom. Would definitely return.

The iron may aswell not have been there - it was terrible! Curtains could do with a clear liner so that guests can have privacy without closing the curtains.

The location is fantastic, the room is big and comfortable and it's in a perfect place for when you would like to head out and do something. Newry is down the road and there are little shops and an off licence if you want to just nip in and out.

It's hard to point things out that we didn't like but I will say the lady at the restaurant wasn't very pleasant. Don't believe I heard a thank you or a please and seemed very irritated by everything. Other than that the bed was a little big and we dislike 2 mattresses but that's just nit picking. If they were to take that lady off the restaurant front we would rush back.

Lovely comfy big bed with socket beside for my CPAP machine. Spacious roomy room. Excellent service from the staff - our heated towel rail wouldn't work so we phoned down to request assistance. Someone came within 5 minutes, and they called another member of staff who knew how to turn it on. Receptionist was very helpful and advised us where to go for wonderful views. Food in the carvery was delicious and good value. Would definitely stay again if visiting that part of Northern Ireland.

The steep steps from car park to the entrance. No ramp available and I struggled getting my luggage up. The lighting in the room and bathroom was inadequate especially for ladies doing their make up / nightly cleansing routine. The tray with kettle, cups, coffee, etc, was very high up in the wardrobe and my partner who is 5'2" struggled to lift it down. Could do with a few more hangers in the wardrobe - especially the family rooms otherwise only enough for one each. Food service for the evening meal was quite slow as they were very busy.

The family room was large and the beds comfortable. Having just spent most of the day driving that was appreciated. Because the hotel has a bar and restaurant as part of it, we didn't need to go anywhere for dinner or to unwind. Breakfast in the morning was also lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A lovely stop!

There's not really anywhere to walk to from the hotel, for siteseeing, and along a relatively busy road if just for sheer legstretching, so bear that in mind before you arrive. But a minor concern.

It was a lovely room, which had everything that I needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to the A1 route and spectacular views. The cooked breakfast was delicious. There is a lift.

A sign pointing to your disability access ramp would have meant that when I arrived I could have pulled my suitcase up to the reception entrance. I lifted my suitcase and carried it up the steps.

What a Gem of a hotel. I rarely if ever write a review but here we go. I honestly cannot speak highly enough of the staff in this hotel. They just understand customer service and I’ve not experienced service like this in a long long time. A fabulously decorated and maintained bar and dining area. The bedroom and bed was extremely comfortable, complimentary water, crisp fresh sheets. Fluffy towels and a spotless bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and presented by a chef who cared and served by a waitress who was equally as caring. I very much hope my travels take me back this way. Well done to all !

We were travelling from South Tipp so we got to the hotel after 8pm. The lady who met us at reception was so nice and asked if we needed food. We had stopped in Dublin so we were fine but she then asked the kids if they wanted some cereal before bed and took my youngest off to go get some and bring it back to the room. I never caught her name but Harvey is telling everyone about the lady in the hotel giving him cereal so she has earned a few new fans.

Didn't like that we had to go home after only a short stay but we'll absolutely be back again. Great hotel.

It’s a classy accommodation that I would have expected to pay more for. Definitely value for money. The staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly. The food is exceptional and my room so very spacious and comfort.

The only thing I didn’t like was they I had to leave. If I get the opportunity to come back to Ireland again I would definitely stay here again.

The location was great...near Newgrange and Drogheda as well as on the way to Belfast. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The staff could not have been any better. Be sure to eat at their restaurant. It should be rated at least a 4 star.

The only drawback was the lack of air conditioning, which is common to Northern Ireland and Ireland. We would have liked to have had a hair dryer because ours had the wrong plug. At reception, however , a staff member gave our teenagers an adaptor for their phones to charge, which made them very happy!
