The staff were lovely, polite and helpful. Lived the log fire in the lounge area, great coming down in the morning to the smell of a log fire! Breakfast was super, it was a change from the last time we stayed which was buffet style, but I think it was better getting your order taken, best scrambled eggs I've had!

Can't say I didn't like anything, my only grump is the cost for the dog staying! The last number of times we stayed we had a one off charge, this time it was £20 per dog per night!! I personally think this is expensive, puts the cost of our stay much higher, especially if we have a "deal"! I did query it and was told that was always the case and all the hotels charge per night! I beg to differ, plus at other hotels we have stayed at. We get a doggy pack, usually treat, poo bags, water bowl a wee dog bed or blanket, The Pine Trees gave nothing.

Location and friendly, helpful staff.

The breakfast arrangements have changed, presumably as a result of the new ownership. The breakfast which used to be magnificent is now a rather disappointingly frugal affair. A sad lonely little croissant and a minature pan o chocolate along with an uncovered dish of butter were already out on each table awaiting each guests arrival, it may have been possible to simply inhale each item without the need to chew upon them. It’s never a good sign when you have to ask for more than two thin rashers of bacon, one rather undersized mushroom, a piece of potato scone that made a Craft Dairy slice look positively gigantic and a venison sausage encased in some impenetrable casing. Nicely cooked and served, just not very much of it if your constituan doesn’t like eggs and beans.

Perfect location, a quiet corner, but within easy walking distance of this small but bustling tourist town. Very professional, but friendly welcome, and this went a long way with the welcoming vibe throughout our stay. Something of the now sadly old-fashioned customer service courtesies. Beautiful building, nicely furnished within the period (if some odd choice pop art prints in places). Good size, comfortable bedroom. Will always return here if the same 'feel' can be sustained.

Non mainstream diet provision a bit of a grind. Notified in advance and readiy accepted. Welcoming manager(?) very much on the ball but not necessarily communicated to waiting staff at breakfast. Sort of got there in the end however.

The Hotel was lovely, beautifully painted all White and decorated well inside too The meals were good both dinner and breakfast

We were placed upstairs in the highest room, almost under an eave, loads of stairs to go up and down before hit the main staircase, with a lot of luggage which we had, was most impractical. They were great in assisting us with all our luggage. Room very tight, smallish room too and bathroom under the eaves, no room to swing a cat and it was pricey not cheap. Other downside was the dinner menu, didn't have prices on it of what you were choosing, so we asked a waiter to explain, which he couldn't so had to call a chef who lived close by, to come and explain to us why he had presented the menu the way he had. No where else had a menu with prices on it been presented the way he had done it.

I have been here before and previously loved the hotel and location. But this time it was even better than before- the staff have dialled up their customer service to top level- really friendly, happy help and think outside the box, but not be intrusive. Sorted luggage, suggested walks, shared their love of the area, and were v helpful the next morning with prompt check out and breakfast so we could make our early train. Breakfast is delicious- and much nicer now they have gone back to table service for cooked breakfast (like they used to) rather than the canteen style “bacon being kept warm under lights” set up there was last year. I love this hotel, it feels really speedier, and this year it was even better and more special. I’m really looking forward to coming back next year.

Pine Trees is a stunning hotel as are the grounds it sits on, great parking facilities. The grand entrance hall is absolutely stunning. The roaring fire in the lounge was most welcome and cosy. We enjoyed looking at the artwork. The staff are all lovely and helpful. The location was ideal for us, being a just a short distance from the town centre. The beds were really comfy and breakfast was amazing, grrat selection and plenty of it.!

The shower cubicle desperately needs a good clean as the grout was really grubby. Also the shower head is really close to the wall and the handle lifts to put the shower on, in order to get under the shower head you need to get very close to the wall and I accidentally knocked the handle turning the water very hot which could potentially be extremely dangerous. The bedroom furniture was really tired. The tea tray is very low down under the dressing table, I felt this was not ideal.

The ambience of the hotel was excellent it felt really comfortable but was definitely a cut above the average hotel. I loved the decor and the retention of period features while maintaining fresh clean decor. Dinner was of excellent quality. The staff were all pleasant and helpful

Having experienced a top notch evening dinner I found the cooked Breakfast to be a little disappointing. The bacon, sausage and potato scone all felt as if they had been prepared and kept warm for quite some time. I wasn’t expecting cheap but did find the bar prices to be a bit too high - but the bar staff were excellent.

Almost everything, we’ve been coming for 5 years but won’t rush back.

Sorry to say it’s changed hands. Now Apex hotels. Had no idea before we came but all becomes clear. The fabulous beef in the restaurant is no longer, it’s ok but not vaguely as good.. The wood pigeon on our stay was inedible, even at the second asking and we were too polite to take it further. We heard other diners asking for sharper knives for the same dish. I could go on but I won’t. The magic has gone……If you’re a first timer you’ll love it. But it used to be better under former ownership.

The welcome from Danielle made us feel really comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble, she even made a fuss over our 2 wee dogs. Her partner (sorry never caught his name) was friendly and very professional as was the very professional and funny chap behind the bar. The only slight was somewhat bizarrely a group of the new owners (apex ltd) were leaving reception as i was entering, they all walked past (6 or 7 of them) let me hold the door open and only one of them (a friendly lady) acknowledged me. I just hope they weren't there doing staff training, as the staff they have could teach them about customer relations. Evening food in the restaurant is of the fine dining variety, and whilst of excellent quality I'd advise taking the 3 courses if you're hungry. Breakfast had a vast selection of fruit, cereals etc. and the cooked breakfast buffet had excellent produce and a vast selection. We are already looking forward to our next visit. 10/10.

Nothing, all was brilliant.

Hotel was very nice. Traditional and full of character, which I like. Roaring log fires - big tick in chilly January. Room was spacious and comfortable. The gardens looked lovely and were one of the reasons we picked Pine Trees, but we ran out of time to explore them properly. Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. Hotel is not far from Pitlochry main street, so easy to leave the car there and walk down.

The bedroom was freezing! Not the hotel's fault - it was January and absolutely Baltic outside. The hotel did supply a portable heater to supplement the central heating but it didn't put out much heat.
