Room was spacious and we had bungalows so was out the way of everyone liked the little outside yard. The food was excellent we liked having a bar on site their was plenty of parking .

Some staff not everyone didn't seem that friendly or go out their way just little touches could of been shown to our room at breakfast we weren't asked if wanted any sauces or if our food was ok server seemed more preoccupied with their phone our room seemed to have a green light on it that we couldn't switch off so toke us a while to sleep and weird alarm went off when we were leaving not sure about that on one of the evenings we weren't advised that the normal dining area wasn't going to be available and would have to go into main building maybe could of mentioned it when we booked a table

Very impressed with everything at this Hotel. We stayed 1 night as we were attending a funeral the next day and the Hotel is located just minutes from the Crematorium. We enjoyed an excellent evening meal... perfectly cooked, presented and served in the Hotel Restaurant and also an amazing breakfast. They provided catering after the Funeral which was perfect for the occasion. All areas and rooms are immaculately clean and pleasant. All the staff were all very friendly, helpful and efficient in every way.The outside areas and grounds are beautiful. An excellent place to stay.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

We booked 2 rooms, a small double which had a reinforced window looking onto the corridor. Not exactly the best of views and my daughter said it felt claustrophobic. My wife and I had a bungalow, which was a good standard and clean. The only real gripe with the room was the door only partially opened before jamming on the floor. Not an issue for us, but if you were physically challenged you would struggle, no chance if your in a chair. Breakfast was freshly cooked Full English and continental breakfast. Unfortunately within minutes of sitting down I got wet, a leak in the ceiling was dripping down next to the table. We're were asked if we wanted to move but I just moved the table out of the way. The Breakfast was great, my only gripe was I like a large coffee or at least a pot with the equivalent of 2 small cups or mug. Unfortunately it was 1 small cup. I'm sure they would have brought another if I asked but I just wanted to eat breakfast. The staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly, couldn't ask for more from them. The hotel overall is looking a bit tired in parts. Some of the rooms look like they weren't meant to be rooms for customers. Maybe converted store rooms. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't want at least one outward window. That room was £93 and was very small too. I would stay again but would not book the small double. The Bungalow for an extra £40 was worth it and had great sunset views.

We got upgraded from a double to a bungalow with an amazing view. The bathroom was spotless and smelt of bleach which i love. Room was very clean. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was full english, really good. Also had cerials, jam nd nutella options for the toast, fresh fruit and yogurt. Tea and coffee and different fresh juices. Tea and coffee in the room and buscuits

Probably more milk in the room. My partner made us 1 bru and used 2 milk in each so had non left for the night and first thing in the morning 😆 but not really a complaint

It is a lovely hotel overlooking the valley and, for us, a good location from which to visit family in Wakefield. The room was a good size and had everything you need for a short stay, one night in our case. The staff were really helpful when I had problems getting my phone to link to the Wi-Fi. The buffet style breakfast had a good choice of cereals, pastries, fruit, yogurts and hot food.

I didn't realise when booking, the Hotel is a wedding and function venue. There was both a wedding and company bash going on the night we stayed. At reception they told us both would be finished by midnight, and they were. Sadly, our room was over the top of the function room, so no sleep until midnight. That said, I would definitely stay here again as it's a lovely hotel and good value for money.

So a short notice booking to see someone in the local hospital. Arrived by motorcycle after a long days ride and..... I'd got the date wrong on the booking (24hrs later). I thought that was us scuppered as there was a wedding taking part. However, the receptionist was brilliant, no grumpiness, just smiles and a bit of laughter at my expense :-) Soon was all sorted, an executive room and at the same price that Booking.com had originally charged. The room was a bungalow type build, very large with a veranda and chairs and a beautiful view. Same for the restaurant, we didn't book because we were'nt certain when we would be back from the hospital. When we went in, no problem Sir! and the service was so friendly by all three of the staff who were also looking after a busy dining room with several birthday groups. Would not hesitate to return!

The staff were very friendly and considerate of my needs, going as far as to change rooms so that I wouldn't have to navigate the stairs as I'm a wheelchair user. The food was absolutely fantastic; the evening meal was delightful and the staff were happy to adjust the volume if we found it too loud. Housekeeping were respectable, friendly and accommodating. The room itself was clean, quiet, and had the most beautiful view. A fan was also provided which helped with the heat. A stunning property with incredible picturesque grounds and fantastic wildlife. My favourite part absolutely has to be the tree in the front of the hotel - it's absolutely beautiful and unique!

There is only one hot breakfast option, which is the full English, but there is the option for toast/cereal too. There is no lift at this property as it is an older building but we were able to exchange rooms for the ground floor bungalows which were very spacious and comfortable. There are bright lights outside of the bungalow which can be bothersome without curtains drawn or if out on the patio late, but the curtains are blackout and cover the light well and it adds extra security to the car park. The only disappointment I had was the lack of wheelchair access (unless across grass) to the tree at the front of the hotel!

The Hotel was great looking, and the staff were extremely friendly. Lovely location

Breakfasts were a little disappointing, and we were not aware at booking that the hotel was a venue for entertainment, on the first night there was a Billy Ocean tribute act on and the noise in our room was really loud and it went on until 1am , Though the owner did ask us if we would like to attend a Frank Sinatra tribute act as he found out it was our 43rd Anniversary. A lovely gesture.

Room was comfort able and well equipped. Good Bath and Shower . Breakfast was superb ,with the excellent Amy ensuring we had everything we wanted. The evening meal was huge ,actually too much and of good quality. Excellent venue with friendly and caring Staff. Excellent location for our event (Cross Country) at the Racecourse.

The Towel rail in the room didnt work. It wasnt clear that this was a busy Wedding and Funeral venue, including a noisy evening function although we were warned the day before and the party kept the noise down as much as they could beneath our room. The music was meant to stop at midnight and it did on the dot.

We as a family stayed over night to attend a funeral the following day. The staff were wonderful our rooms were comfortable and clean. We had evening meal which was good value for money. Excellent food tasty ample portions . It is a beautiful location and the family booked a suite following day where the buffet was lovely. Every member of staff were polite helpful. We will be returning for hopefully a happier occasion soon.
