Location was great to visit Leeds, only £30 return by taxi Excellent Food, Steak cooked to perfection Perfect Breakfast Staff on the whole were very good. Vicky in particular who multi tasks her jobs gave us exceptional customer service! We enjoyed our stay, and will return at some point in the future.

Dining in the loud busy Brasserie didnt suit us. We Prefer a quieter dining experience. Chairs in the breakfast dining room badly stained, and decor tired. No attentive service by a sommelier. Wine not poured observing 'The Ritual' & glasses not topped up. The wine is rather pricey and therefore a little more attention would have been appreciated.

Room was lovely and large. Bed comfortable Hotel is beautiful. Breakfast freshly cooked. Staff very polite and friendly.

No bath:( I'm not a fan of only showers and missed my evening bath. Breakfast served in a cramped back room. Not the lovely front restaurant used last time we stayed. My husband was stuck once seated and couldn't access the buffet table. Far too close to next two tables and couldn't talk freely. Breakfast beautifully cooked but some disorganisation and confusion from waiting staff. We made a special request for separate duvets which was acknowledged and agrees but didn't actually happen on the day. My husband tripped on the bottom stair. Curved wood it wasn't easy to see. Last time we stayed for £120 . This time £220. Big increase in cost

Great room, excellent food, could not fault the staff

Two things that I find an issue with a number of hotels these days Poor lighting. There were 4 lamps but no central general light which just makes the whole place look dingy and looking for something in my case for example was a pain Unexpected extra charges. The food was very good. It was a premium price but worth it. I was not expecting a service charge on top. The staff were excellent, but should be paid a good wage without this sort of charge, which I am not sure if they even get. What makes it worse is that I did not see any reference to the charge on the menu. Also there was an additional £1 to a local charity added to my bill. £1 is not a lot, but once again I don't like being charged unexpectedly for anything.

Greeted with a smile and a homemade piece of cake at reception and then shown to a comfortable room with all necessary amenities. Needless to say the Molton Brown toiletries were exceptional as were the tea making facilities with biscuits / chocolates thrown in. The restaurant was well appointed with a good range of beer and wine. The staff were attentive and friendly without being obtrusive. Similarly, the breakfast food variety and serving staff were of an equivalently high standard.

Some miscommunication over the EV chargers but quickly resolved

The staff are very welcoming and friendly offering a piece of carrot cake as a welcome treat. The Molton Brown goodies are always welcome, as were the good selection of teas, coffees and biscuits provided in the room. The room was spacious, comfortable and a pleasant although slightly nondescript decor. The bed large with sumptuous pillows and thankfully a proper duvet rather than the cheap and nasty ones so oft used in bigger hotels. The dinner was good although see comments below. The staff attentive and the Maitre D knowledgeable and friendly

The dinner menu was adequate but not particularly extensive although the choice of fish and chips was a good one. A good wine list with plenty of choice for both pallet and budget

Ambience and view from our room. Everything was perfect, clean and very presentable. Nice comfy bed plus a big settee. Cooked breakfast was excellent, all fresh and hot.

Please take this as constructive criticism, the lack of disability parking (2bays) for the size of the Hotel which are not marked very well, infact are painted blue on the floor and hard to see in the dark. No other signage to indicate the disability parking bays. This probably was the reason why a Mercedes G Wagon was parked in one of the bays without a blue badge showing. Also the other option for me to park was an EV charging bay which again not very clear signage, 2 bays both with cars parked that where not EVs. Last time we stayed we had breakfast in the dining room, this time we had to eat in a small lounge room and go into another room for drinks etc although the cooked breakfast was served at the table.

The Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and all cooked to order. The restaurant was excellent, menu choice and quality could not be faulted The Bedroom was spacious but

Bathroom needs updating Fridge in Room required for Fresh milk to compliment the Tea, De-caffeinated Tea bags required Other Guests smoking under our window Noise from Road intrusive at times especially with window open - appreciate Air con was installed.

A spacious, very comfortable room (we were given a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite) with classical music playing as we entered the room - a nice touch after a Friday evening rush hour drive. The WiFi is very fast if you’re on business and the hotel is ideally located just off the A1 (but far enough away that you wouldn’t know it was there) to break up a trip from London to Northumbria. Staff were very attentive and communication before arriving was superb. Breakfast on weekends is served from 08:30 but they were happy to bring both cooked and continental breakfast to our room at 07:30 so that we could get an earlier start.

I’d take beans with my cooked breakfast but apart from that I can’t fault it

A super-comfortable - and elegant, 'country' boutique hotel that exudes quality at every turn. Warm, thoughtfully appointed and spacious rooms, with extremely comfortable bed with lovely linen, nice small touches in the room such as 'treats tray' and nice toiletries etc... Staff friendly and professional, lovely seasonal decorations and a welcoming feel to the place overall. The Wentbridge is quite well known in the area as a place to go for a special meal or afternoon tea and I have to say the breakfast was beautifully done (cooked fresh to order) and the dining room itself stylish without standing on ceremony. If you're after lots of facilities, this place won't be 1st choice - BUT if you seek a wonderfully comfortable place to rest your head for the night then this is your spot if you're heading through Yorkshire up the A1.

It isn't a cheap choice but then, you get what you pay for. Fair value I think overall. Would I stay again - absolutely, if I was in the area for a meeting or special family visit. I'd also say that if you prefer somewhere with lots of facilities on-site, e.g., a gym or large bar area etc... it is unlikely to be 1st choice but for what I was after, it was spot on. Location within minutes of the A1 (south of Pontefract, North of Barnsely and the M18 junction) is both a positive and negative - negative in the sense that the hotel isn't located in the midst of Yorkshire's most stunning countryside so those seeking serious country walks etc may well select somewhere a bit more off the beaten track.

We had dinner and breakfast. Excellent food and service. All staff were welcoming and no request was too much trouble. We had a fridge in the room, although the other room did not. Also, iron, ironing board hairdryer and tea making facilities were in a cupboard in the room. The room and bathroom were spotless. Even though there was a wedding celebration when we arrived, we were treated very well. No noise problems either.

We have absolutely no complaints.
