Lovely hotel not far from the main attractions in Portsmouth such as HMS Victory, Plymouth Historic Dockyard and the Naval Museum. Large car park and plenty of parking available. There are plenty of places to eat and drink just a short walk away if you didn't want to partake of the fayre offered in the hotel. The hotel staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was enormous, ovelooking the gardens and had a sea view although it was very stormy the weekend we visited so we had to look at it from afar. The room itself was vey clean and even had its own Christmas tree! The bathroom, although it didn't have a bath, was very big and suited our needs nonetheless. The bed was a king size and very comfortable and the nights were quiet with little noise heard from other guests even though for 2 of the nights we stayed there were Christmas parties going on in the hotel and also in the large marquee in the grounds and we had very little disturbance from any of them. Overall I would definitely recommend the hotel.
Beig a hotel you will be paying top prices for food and drink. The evening menu was a bit limited but well cooked and presented. We took our own breakfast cereal which we had in our room as we weren't prepared to spend £18 each for breakfast per day. The room was cold when we arrived but there was radiator heating available. The view was spoilt by the large marquee in the grounds which had Christmas Parties on for 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. This was pointed out to us when we checked in by the reception staff and we were given the option to change rooms if it became a problem. Thankfully the music wasn't too loud and the parties finished at 12am and after there was very little noise heard aprtr from the odd reveller who happened to be staying in the hotel being a bit noisy.

Such a lovely building. Love the style and decor. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean.
Staff could have been trained to be more welcoming on arrival and departure. For instance a ‘Welcome to the Queens Hotel’ should be standard shouldn’t it? We didn’t get this or a ‘Thank You for staying’ when we left. Notice that an Asian couple with large suitcases who could have travelled a long way were not welcomed either or asked about their journey. Seems like common decency to me? Staff we young and not unpleasant but felt like they were inexperienced. They also missed a trick not asking us if we wanted breakfast as we cd have been persuaded. But do love the hotel and location so this would not stop me returning.

Location is excellent. The room was large and very clean. Wonderful view accross Southsea Common to the Solent. Well stocked courtesy tray. The staff on reception were efficient, polite and helpful.
We have stayed here many times before and always enjoyed breakfast and sometimes an evening meal. It is a couple of years since we stayed before so were shocked to find that breakfast was now £18 per head. What we really found unacceptable was the small print at the bottom of the menu stating there would be an additional charge of £4.50 'per tray'. Presumably this would result in £22.50 per head for breakfast. We chose to go to Wetherspoons round the corner where we enjoyed an excellent breakfast for less than £5 each, with no sneaky add ons.

We had a lovely stay at the Queens Hotel, I always remember walking past it as a kid on trips to Portsmouth. The hotel did an excellent breakfast in the mornings, and our room was comfortable. We did try the restaurant in the evening, and the food was lovely, although Algarve's Grill just round the corner was also excellent! The hotel was well positioned for the rock gardens, Southsea castle and the hoverport. If you're keen, it is possible to walk to Spinnaker Tower and the Historic dockyards, although our return taxi was about £7. Currently work on the sea wall to upgrade and maintain it means the esplanade has some alternate paths in place. Parking at the hotel was also very good.
Room just needed a little tlc, taps were a little stiff and the bathroom door didn't quite close.

The hotel was a grand hotel, with so much history a fabulous old building. Great location, dog friendly, free parking, great food and comfortable bedroom. We had the best experience mainly because of the wonderful staff. Abbie, on reception went over and beyond to welcome us and accommodate our requirements - she was so knowledgeable about the hotel and local area and was a pleasure to speak to. Sobhi was so helpful, providing a secure store for our bikes and even helping us to carry the bikes. All the staff were so lovely and we had a superb stay. Will be back and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anybody.

The property was very nice, almost up market vibe for an affordable price. Plug socket next to bed Super friendly staff. Daisy was super helpful in giving directions to the Wharf Sea view and balcony would be great on a warm summer evening as the sun sets below the sea.
The single beds weren’t the best I’ve slept on, although they weren’t the worst. Could be a bit thicker. Hot drinks selection only tea and coffee, would be nice to have a hot chocolate option although I know most hotels don’t provide hot chocolate Didn’t have breakfast as £18 seems pretty steep so went a local bakery

The location was excellent, just opposite Southsea Common with a view across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and all the passing shipping. Just round the corner in Osborne Road there is a variety of restaurants to suit most tastes. There's also a bus stop close to the hotel in Osborne Road from which the frequent No.23 bus will take you to Portsmouth and the Naval Dockyard. The hotel looked freshly decorated in the public areas and in our room, which was clean, comfortable and well equipped - but see negative comment below. We had paid extra for a seaview room with balcony which, thanks to the good weather, enabled us to enjoy watching the busy yachts, ferries, liners, cargo ships and even the new aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth. The staff were helpful and friendly, though a bit more attention to management in the dining room would enable service to proceed more smoothly. There was a good selection of hot and cold food for breakfast. The dinner menu was fairly brief but included an interesting range of dishes. The 'first come first served' car park seemed sufficiently large to accommodate the guests' cars, but could be tight if an event was being held. If, like us, you drive an electric car, don't get excited about the charger by the front door - it's reserved for the directors, though they are considering putting in public chargers.
The bathroom included a large, newly-installed shower cubicle that did not have a grab rail and for which the non-slip shower mat was far too small. The shower floor is treacherous when wet and great care is needed, particularly for us older people. We told the receptionist who said they would pass on the warning. If the hotel management is reading this, please check that action has been taken.

Meet old friends here for a reunion. The room we had was perfect, and with a large bath and nicely decorated bathroom. View from room crossed the common to the IOW. Handy location for walks to Naval Dockland, Spinnaker Tower, front and pier. Our group of 10 had dinner on last evening - all thought it well presented and good value from an extensive menu. We were well-served by 'J' who timed the course delivery in an unrushed manner. We like the refurbished look of the place - carpets and B&W photos throughout. Afterthought - the breakfast on all 3 mornings was outstanding, thanks ladies for a good service!
Nothing.

Beautiful Hotel steeped in history. Beautifull lobby, restaurant and stair case!Excellent location with a very short walk to many restaurants and the promenade. Lots of parking within the hotel grounds. Room with a view was fantastic, worth the extra. Very clean, comfortable and very spacious. Huge bed, lovely linen and towels. Nice choice of pastries and jams for breakfast, and choice of cooked. Staff friendly.
Breakfast was nice, but just nice. Sadly, set menu with no option of how you'd like your eggs on the cooked breakfast. Fried only, which were hard both days. Cooked breakfast the first day was a bit dried up. Muffin on the eggs benedict toasted on the top only, leaving the bottom soggy on the plate, again both days. Presented lovely though, and quality ingredients. Cold coffee served in a coffee pot, but one pot piping hot! Few tables with dirty crockery left, with waitress just walking past, dragging her feet. Looked untidy, no excuse as only 6 people eating breakfast at the time. Just needs a little attention to detail and it would be perfect! Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is a beautiful building. The entrance is stunning. My room was upgraded, which was great. I found the staff in the dining area and bar exceptional as nothing was too much trouble. The food was also very good. The lovely lady at reception kindly helped me with my case when I left today. Lovely staff.
The only thing I found uncomfortable was when housing keeping came to do the my room at 1 30pm and I was in the middle of getting ready for a wedding and asked them if they wouldn't mind waiting whilst I finished getting dressed. They we're unable to oblige as I was the last room and their shift had finished. I realise it is a large hotel and a lot to cover, but I was out of my room from early morning.
