Location was great for our trip to Bath, Avebury and Stonehenge. Rooms were very comfortable, clean and a great place to rest for the evening. Restaurant next door offered a refreshing daily breakfast and good for evening drinks and relaxing as well.

The only thing I would change is the bathtub in the room upstairs. It was all very new and clean, but the tub design just doesn't work for showering. The tub is too narrow and uncomfortable to stand in, almost to the point where you think you're going to slip. My kids all had a room with no tub and their showers were great.

The bedroom facilities are away from the pub / restaurant so no noise later in the evenings, great food and drink with a high level of customer service and kids play area and also free on-site parking. Comfortable, clean and modern family room and bathroom with large TV, iron and ironing board, air conditioning and plenty of space for the 3 of us.

Cheap and nasty toilet paper, reduced menu on the Saturday night due to apparently being short staffed, food discount only available if your stay was booked through green king not booking.com and for the last 2 hours before checking out (when wanted a shower) no water supply for some reason?

Location was great and the room was lovely and clean and spacious. The room had everything needed and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent really good selection and very tasty. Staff in restaurant was very helpful and friendly. Really pleasant atmosphere everywhere.

A laminated sheet would be useful for how to use the electric car charging point as reception staff had no knowledge of what you needed to use it. A step by step guide would be most useful to know you needed to download app to use charging point and set this up before able to use.

Fantastic rooms and the hotel was really comfortable

We booked three rooms. In 1 room the toilet seat was broken , the other room the toilet seat was loose. The toilet roll holders were also quite loose in a couple rooms. We went to the bar and grill for dinner with a 5 year old and my elderly parents. The service was not great. It took 1 hour 40 minutes for the food to arrive and it was average quality. For a 5 year old to wait 1 hour 40 for a wrap was really not on. I would not return to the pub and grill for dinner , although breakfast was excellent. So perhaps the the bar and grill was having an off night but was not a great experience. The hotel was great though and will definitely return.

The hotel was superb, the staff were very helpful, when I had a minor problem with the bathroom door, which refused to open when I had used the bathroom and was inadvertently locked in the bathroom, luckily I was in a wet room, not an ordinary bathroom, so I used the emergency call cord to summon the receptionist who came very quickly and got help to open the door, which was repaired very quickly, even though the receptionist offered to move us to another room, which we did not require.

You can't improve an exceptional service.

Excellent value for money. The room and hotel were immaculate. The family room so spacious and well equipped. Freshly decorated room and bathroom. Lovely thick clean towels. The staff offered us fresh milk at bed time for our hot drinks for the room. Clever area for storage. We liked the central location of the room, near Marlborough, Avebury and edge of the Cotswolds. The breakfast was amazing value, freshly cooked, lots of choice and very efficient polite staff. We could have paid double for the room and stay nearby. Very impressed. Well done to the Churchill at Wootton Bassett staff.

Main road close by but excellent double glazing and traffic quietened down at night.

Rooms very good - clean, tidy and well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant was plentiful and well cooked 'pub grub'. Breakfast consisted of an adequate cold buffet along with freshly cooked choice of items. Ideal stop off point from the M4 and far superior to motorway/travel lodge type hotels.

It is a shame the hotel is not linked to the pub directly but if the weather is kind this is not a major problem. Also cannot charge food to the room or run a tab in the bar, which is inconvenient.

It was clean everything you could want for an overnight or short stay...amazing sofa bed, by which I mean you can sleep on...and many I suspect will like us were so relieved...towels plenty...of...bedding white crisp soft...immaculate..it was so perfect...it was as if we were tye first to stay in the room...it is also casula enough to relax..and very quiet...cannot fault it and will definetly stay again when in the area... My children loved it...and they are hard task masters for finding all the usual issues as rarely do we find anywhere with none...****** Cannot praise highly enough..

There is absolutely nothing

Lovely new hotel building separate from the pub. Good size room with every facility you need for a comfortable stay. Big comfy bed, good air con, good size bathroom with shower over bath. Included breakfasts were first class. All staff were very pleasant and friendly. Pub restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent.

The toilet seat didn't fit the pan properly, so you partially sat on the china!! The bath had sloping sides that only left 9 to 10 inches of flat to stand on, which was potentially dangerous. Bath mats were available, but why did an architect specify such an inappropriate bath style?

Modern. Staff were amazing! We arrived at the pub just after 8pm and they had stopped serving. Because we were staying there, the bar person arranged with the chef to make us something. Nothing was too much trouble. Our double room was upgraded to a family sized room. It was clean and tidy.

There is not a bus stop outside the property but it is within walking distance. Unfortunately, the walk is not safe. There is no public footway and you have to walk perilously alongside a busy, fast road. This, however, is NOT the fault of the property.
