So our stay was 7 nights leading up to and including Christmas day and boxing day ect. The first day was a quiet drink and a lovely meal, then a good night's sleep on a firm but very comfortable large double bed . The room was lovely and warm considering it was rather cold outside. And surprisingly the heating was controlled by oneself and was able to be left on all night if needed .It was a lovely spacious room with the usual tea coffee ect . Our room was designed for the disabled , the shower was lovely and warm with shower gel , towels ect provided . Our following days comprised of joining the A55 just a couple of hundred yards from the hotel .The A55 literally takes you anywhere in N Wales you want to visit. At night we stayed at the hotel for our evening meals because the menu was varied enough reasonably prced and most importantly the food was freshly cooked and excellent non of this overpriced frozen rubbish .And not too far to walk to our room after festive drinks. I can't comment on the breakfast as we don't have it .The staff were great , nothing was too much trouble . All in all we would recommend the hotel for short or long stays.

My only complaint is there was no notice stating that Christmas eve was closed to serving food . By the time we discovered this nearby shops were shut, luckily we had cheese and biscuits in our room we had taken with us .

I have had several meals at the Talardy over the years with friends and have always been very satisfied with them so I made a booking for my family's stay at the hotel. The room, friendly staff and facilities offered were the best we have ever received. However, since the booking, I have received at least 10 emails giving me the same details about my booking which is annoying. On Monday 21st October I rang the Talardy on 01745 799314 and spoke to a gentleman in Wolverhampton in an effort to stop them but I'm still receiving them today. Just stop sending them - Thanks.

See the paragraph above. Thank you.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable and well laid out, breakfast was excellent quality and value for money the staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The overall feeling off hotel and restaurant area was a good feeling of warmth and friendliness. We had children with us and they were made equally welcome and they enjoyed every minute. We had a family evening meal in the restaurant and it was excellent in quality and the way it was served, and all at a reasonable price.

A very small niggle I would of preferred proper soap in the bathroom rather than liquid soap in a rather awkward dispenser.

Well furnished hotel with good sized bedroom - also had lovely meal in restaurant

Too many emails mainly asking me to check in on line but could only do this if provided debit/ credit card details - why are these required when room paid for? Also after nice meal in restaurant experience from staff dealing with special offer of liqueur with coffee on drinks menu left me feeling disappointed- they said system wouldn’t accept offer and requested higher payment -although after some time they eventually agreed to wipe cost from bill they were very unfriendly- pity as everything else ok

The rooms are clean and spacious. I've stayed several times this year for less than ideal reasons (father in hospital nearby and then for his and my mother's funeral) but staying here has allowed me to get a good night's rest so I could focus on the things I needed to do. I never needed to worry about whether the room would be comfortable or clean and I am so grateful for somewhere nice to stay during this time. The rooms are quiet, even during hours when the bar and restaurant are open. The food in the restaurant is excellent and even though there are other places nearby we ended up eating here every night because it's just so good. The staff have been polite, friendly and helpful during each of our stays.

The rooms are quite warm even when it's cold which I'm sure would be ideal for some but there's no way to cool it down if you're a hot sleeper!

Hotel is an old hotel very modernised. Room was large and very comfy (was in a room in the main building). Food in restaurant and food breakfast was excellent. Wonderful value for money place to stay. Good base to operate from for northern eastern Wales. Fresh coffee in little sachets in the room is excellent. Room had a pedestal fan for hot days/nights. Excellent nights sleep. Little noise even with the window open.

A little way from the village centre if you want to walk up to the shops (but not a great distance). Steps up into the room and then down into the bathrooms. Not so good in the middle of the night when your half asleep still and need to use the room (could be the kitchen under the room but no noise from it). Bathroom a bit on the tiny side but still functional.

Quick check in. Full of people having Xmas dinner, which is a good sign. We were at my daughters for dinner and booked the hotel as a place to stay. Roomed in the lodge, which is next to the main building. Fair sized room and an unbelievably comfortable mattress! Had to turn heating off as the room was too hot for me. Tea and coffee in plenty. They had Nescafe gold blend, unlike some hotels that have cheap coffee. That got a 5/5 from the wife. Hopefully, stay again in 2024.

Breakfast wasn't available on Boxing day. I would have liked a bottle of water in the room. Toilet brush would be an addition to the bathroom. Otherwise, there is nothing else to add.

Having stayed here before with my grandson & having had a fabulous experience I decided to return. We stay in the lodge on the ground floor as I have mobility problems. Our room was bright clean & the beds very comfortable.

Having booked a table for our evening meal when we checked in at around 3.30 we discovered when we went to eat that another staff member had given our table to someone else which means we were left to eat in an empty part of the restaurant. My grandson thought we’d done something wrong. The staff & manager were very apologetic & gave us our drinks by way of apology.

Most of the staff bent over backwards to be helpful, attentive and friendly. Nice, warm inviting from arrival. Bathroom and room was spacious and clean. Very clean rooms and bathroom. Clean, white fluffy towels. Clean bedding. Room was too warm but heating was adjustable. Great parking and could see our vehicle from our room window. Cancellation up to 4 nights before booking and no payment taken until then. Food was ok and they take Blue Light Card.

Road traffic noise even with windows closed. (can't be helped). Asked to eat and waited to be allocated a table even though this huge area was mainly vacant all night long :( No soap in dispenser in our bathroom in dispenser near wash basin. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and hard.

The room was an absolute haven, I was staying with my Dad in hospital and the hotel was less than 5 minutes drive from him. Honestly it was so comfortable and exactly what I needed to be able to recharge to be with him each day. The staff were wonderful and friendly and the food was good when I did have a meal in the restaurant. The room was much larger than I expected for the price- I booked a family room so my husband and son could join me at the weekend. Incredible value for money and I will definitely be staying again.

There was some noise outside as I think I was right above the smoking area (to be expected above a pub!) the windows kept the room quiet when closed though, and it was very quiet after 11 anyway.
