Great central location to Shanklin old village , literally a five min walk to the Chines, pubs and restaurants. The property was immaculate, room one was large with plenty of space for belongings and a great shower. Super buffet style breakfasts, something slightly different each day made a change from fried breakfasts every morning. Tea, coffee, biscuits water replenished every day. Friendly relaxed hosts that just let you get on with things.

Just have to take care when pulling out of the drive as hard to see the on coming vehicles coming round the corner but soon get use to it ! Advisable to reverse in.

Breakfast very good as something different every morning. Old shanklin was an excellent location for us. It was pretty and quaint with nice gift shops and restaurants. Very quiet, we over looked the garden at the rear of the property. Would definitely stay again

The shower over the bath wasn’t thermostatically controlled so a balancing act to get the temperature right?. The water flow from the shower was adequate. It needed a nice stainless steel corner basket on the wall to hold showering products. E.g. shampoo body wash etc) as the bath ledges were narrow to hold bottles. The tv could of been on a bracket on the wall to raise it up as when lead in bed the bottom of the sleigh, bed obstructed half of the TV on one side of the bed.

The breakfast was lovely, but it would have been even more tip top if a cooked breakfast was offered. The room was beautifully clean, tasteful and had a beautiful view of the garden. I was also impressed with the room being cleaned daily. The owners were helpful and efficient. The host made way for our bikes behind the gate and gave us a cover if needed. They also offered a discount on the car ferry which was very helpful indeed. All in all a really wonderful place to stay.

I would only suggest that a cooked breakfast if people wanted.

I liked everything! I stayed in room 1. Room was a very generous size. Bathroom was a very generous size. Everything was very clean. Bed was comfy.. Massive wardrobes to hang clothes, store bags if your there for a long time and want it out the way Would highly recommend!

Tiny little niggle, one less chair in the bedroom and a little table or side of some sort to have a bit more room to put some bits in the bedroom. And a little something in the bathroom to put a wash bag on.. But it's a tiny niggle and wouldn't stop me staying there again!

Great location. Quiet location with a 2 minute walk to the main road. Room was a decent size and extremely well furnished. Everything was finished to a high degree of standard. Bathroom was large and the water pressure was great. Breakfast was very nice and varied during our stay. There seem to be only 3 rooms at the property so everything was personalized.

The water boiler didn't seem able to handle two consecutive hot showers. The second person showing would run out of hot water. Waiting 10 minutes between showers made the problem disappear.

Chine Side is set in the quaint old part of Shanklin, with thatched cottages and lovely stone houses. Our stay was perfect, from the friendly greeting by our host John to our lovely room with views of the amazing gardens. Breakfast served in the elegant dining room with fresh coffee, fruits, toast and other delicious treats. There is a comfortable lounge with a balcony overlooking the gardens where you can relax after a long day exploring this amazing island.

The location in Shanklin is perfect for the village and the amazing back garden is idyllic. The hosts John and Ginny do everything possible to make you feel at home. Breakfast is of a very high standard with a different variety of items every day. Our room was large and spacious with a vast amount of wardrobe and cupboard space. It also overlooked the garden which is spectacular from on high.

Beautiful room, very tastefully decorated with a lovely view of the garden. Our hosts John and Ginny were friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to be accommodating. The location was very close to Shanklin village and all its amenities but was very quiet. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

Lovely continental breakfast but if you want a cooked breakfast the copper kettle cafe is a good alternative.

The location was perfect. The hosts were really lovely and their property was stunning. Breakfast was really good and the room was spotless. We were close to all amenities but the venue we stayed at was so quiet you could hear a pin drop which was amazing. No road noise or anything else to disturb a good nights sleep. Beautiful gardens too. We loved our stay with John and Ginny thank you 🙏

Chine Side is a real gem. A beautiful house with off-road parking and just a few yards from the old Shanklin village. Spotlessly clean, all the amenities and facilities of a boutique hotel, excellent hosts Ginny and John, breakfast was perfection and beautifully presented. Will recommend to friends and family and will definitely be returning.
