The breakfast was delicious, lots of hot dishes to choose from as well as toast, cereal and fruit and yoghurt. Friendly, family run hotel, the rooms were very comfortable and spotless. The area was great with lots of shops, pubs and cafes within a 5 minute walk. If you drive you can explore the whole island easily but I must say the bus service looks very good for those without a car. It was my first time to the IOW but I will certainly be going back 🥰

The only downside, and this goes for most of the island, are the hills! To get to the beach was just too much for me on foot as I have arthritis in my knees and the lung capacity of a 90yr old chainsmoker 😧 Many of them are enormous, even my car struggled to get up some!!

Beautifully presented property both from the exterior and the interior. Beautiful outlook over to the sea from the front. Amazing warm welcome from Paul and Vicky. Well appointed bar in a recently refurbed lobby. Very nice and reasonably priced drinks. We booked an economy room and were blown away with just how nice it was. Good quality furniture and the bed was very comfortable. No complaints. We only had breakfast on one day but it was amazing. Lovely cooked breakfast and a great selection of fruits, yoghurts, cereals and toast. I can’t recommend this property enough. Thanks to Paul and Vicky for a wonderful break.

Nothing at all

All the team at the Havelock were very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast was freshly prepared, hot and tasty. Our room was compact but well equipped, the bed was very comfortable and was serviced every day which was very nice to see/have. The hotel's location means it is in a mainly quiet road but handy for the town (old and new), the route down to the beach and to the Chine. It is also handy for the Coastal Path so you can walk either way without taking the car.

Breakfast time from 8.30 to 9.30 was a little limiting - 8 to 9.30 would have been better.

We were greeted by Paul who, along with Vicky, ensured that we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful sea view. Breakfast each morning was well organised, delicious and excellent value. There were 2 car parks available and the location is perfect for the beach, Shanklin Chine and Shanklin Old Village. The pool was sublime, we spent a couple of hours each afternoon having a dip and relaxing on the sun loungers. Paul provided pool towels which was a nice touch. Each evening we were able to take bottles of fresh, cold water up to our room, provided by Paul. Nothing was too much trouble and we will definitely be back!

We couldn't stay longer.......

Great location, lovely hosts who were super friendly and attentive. We only had breakfast once during our stay and it was very good, lots of choice with good quality produce. Our room whilst small was nicely decorated, clean, with a good selection of hot drinks options and great addition of usb ports in the beside lights. Lovely lounge/bar area with comfy sofas and books and games to play.

Our room was a little on the small side and directly over the breakfast room so lie ins were a bit challenged as you can hear everyone chatting from below. Sadly didn't get to use the pool as although heated it just wasn't warm enough. Drinks at the bar are a bit on the pricey side but plenty of choice and nice to relax at the hotel after dinner.

We had an amazing weekend stay for our 7th wedding anniversary. Customer service was top class, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful and clean with a lovely sea view. Every time we came upstairs after breakfast, our room was cleaned, the bed was made, and the tea and bisuits area were restocked. Oh my, the breakfast was so delicious and plentiful. I loved having unlimited tea, juice, toast, cereal, etc. The pool area was so relaxing, we had a lovely swim and sunbath. To top it off, the location of the hotel is perfect. We were in walking distance to the beach, high street, bus stops, Shanklin chine, restaurants, etc. Thank you to Paul for making our very first trip to the Isle of Wight, so relaxing and memorable. We will definitely be back!

Nothing, everything was great!

The rooms were very well decorated and proportioned. The bathroom was spacious with a fantastic shower. The swimming pool is brilliant, very clean and well maintained, and the grounds of the hotel are well maintained. The owners really take care of the building, facilities, and guests. I will be returning to stay here again. Speaking with other guests, they have been returning to the Havelock for many years, and it's not hard to see why. It's an amazing place to stay with the best hosts you could imagine. Thank you for a brilliant holiday.

Nothing.

There was nothing not to like about it. My son and myself had the warmest of welcomes when we arrived. The place itself was clean and tidy, it looked newly decorated, modern but homely, perfect. The room we had was comfortable and spacious with beautiful sea views. We were offered everything we needed and more. The location was perfect too. We couldn’t have asked for more. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. My son was given extra biscuits and milk for the room too, so he was over the moon. 😁

I have visited the Havelock regularly, especially in recent post-Covid years, and it has become a particular favourite of mine. The location is ideal for the beach and cliff top, the Old Town and the town centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are wonderful, though not good news when you are trying to lose weight !

The room was a bit on the small side and didn't face the front. Given the hot weather while I was there, I would have liked to be able to open the windows wider and ventilate the room a bit more. A desk to sit at while writing would have been useful. The bar could stock more local bottled ales. These are relatively minor complaints - I look forward to visiting the Havelock again next year !

The owners were amazingly helpful and friendly. The room was cosy and bed comfortable. I loved the LED light on the mirror in the bathroom. Exceptional breakfast - all you could want. 12 minute walk to Shanklin Train Station, 10 minute walk to Shanklin Chine, The Old Villiage and 7 minutes walk to shops. Local Post office, too. Near to beach, take lift down - a return ticket is £1.

The swimming pool is not warmer enough for me. I don't like cold generally - that's just me!
