The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice, and great service. The complimentary afternoon tea was a real treat, especially be the pool. Although it was sunny, there was a bit of a breeze, therefore we enjoyed relaxing by the pool, we didn't get in for a swim. The room was really comfortable, and we had a view looking over the pool and the sea behind it. It was very convenient to be able to walk to the lift which took us down to the beachside, soak up the sun and enjoy a delicious fish and chips lunch followed by some ice-cream.

The owner was a lovely lady who was very knowledgeable about the local area. We arrived much later than we intended and missed out on a complimentary cream tea but as a consolation she treated us to a free drink at the in-house bar, a very thoughtful gesture as we didn’t know about the cream tea. The weather let us down a bit but we would definitely stay here again.

I’m very fussy about my pillows, they have to be just right. Second night I did some swapping around with them and I slept right through.

We love it here, so much so this is where we book for our family holiday each year. The staff are friendly and welcoming, you get a lovely tea and scones on your arrival. Everything is always clean, the rooms are good for size. Although the decor is a little dated that is the only thing you could say on it, you couldn’t ask for a nicer place to stay. The swimming pool is great, breakfast has a wide variety in the mornings. It is close to the town, beach and quite a few enjoyable attractions. The owners who run the hotel are lovely. Will always return on our Isle of Wight visits. Great value for money.

The property was a bit dated but very clean.It had a small pool ( which we didn’t use as there was a lot of people on our stay).The room was very small but the bed was comfortable.Close to beach and shops.

The breakfast room was very noisy and crowded and the tables were extremely close together(albeit the breakfast was nice: cereals, sausage , egg, mushrooms, tomato and beans , toast , tea…..presented by a friendly waitress who was rushed off her feet with the many tables.

Thank you to Julian and all the staff, exceptional service. We were greeted with a cream tea by the pool. The hotel is old fashioned but very clean and a cosy feel to it. They thought of everything and even had a fan which came in handy. We loved the pool and hope to come again. Fantastic location, within walking distance to the beach too. Not much I can say really to not like other than it would have been handy to have somewhere to hang your beach towels in the family room for the next day as we struggled with that and so had damp towels the next day. With four people's towels the little towel rail was only really big enough for a couple of hand towels. We had used the rail in the bathroom for the hotel bathing towels. Other than it was a perfect stay!

We had a great break in Shanklin. The hotel is close by to the beach and the town where there are several restaurants. We particularly liked the cream tea on arrival after a long journey. The breakfast was nice and the staff were lovely and could not do enough for us during the stay. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy so much so it was difficult to get up each morning. The room had lovely views of the countryside and it was nicely decorated. We had a great time in the heated pool, basking in the sun whilst looking at the sea views. It was a great bonus to have a game of table tennis too. We would love to come back.

Location is great for attractions in shanklin , beach restaurants , old village ,shanklin chine. Room was clean and comfortable, access to relaxing lounge area, garden and pool . Breakfast included was brilliant and staff very welcoming and friendly.

Dining area could do with Freshning up in decor, I.e pictures faded, ceiling fan needed a clean in one area , and new table covers.

If you are looking for designer furniture/bathrooms and an uber-trendy boutique hotel then move on, this isn't for you! The Eastmount knows it's customers and focuses on what REALLY matters to most travellers. First off, it's scrupulously clean - absolutely everywhere. The rooms are traditionally decorated and whilst the furniture/decor might not be new, everything is well maintained, works properly and nothing looks old or tired. The carpets, bedding and thick towels are immaculate and have a quality feel. Beds are really comfortable and the rooms are airy and fresh smelling. 5* hygiene rating for food is not really surprising and the breakfast is generous and high quality - catering for a vegan was no problem either. The public rooms are spacious and nicely furnished with a reasonably priced and well stocked bar. The pleasant garden is very homely feeling and the heated swimming pool looked very clean. What really sets the hotel apart though is the incredible customer service - nothing is too much trouble and everyone really cares about making your stay perfect. Exceptionally good value as well, especially as our two single rooms (18& 19) both had double beds! Free cream tea (and vegan alternative) on arrival was a nice touch. Thanks for making it a very pleasant stay!

You really can't fault it.

A full English table served breakfast with multiple options was provided very quickly, even with a full dining room. We were greeted with a complimentary cream tea by very friendly staff & owners. As soon as you got your bearings, the hotel was very central to the beach and the town. A very enjoyable comfortable stay at very good value in a delightful period Victorian house.

Unusually, I couldn’t find anything to complain about. It was much better than expected.

The staff were amazingly friendly 👌 I only mentioned that I had a gluten intolerance and they accommodated me without me even asking! It was honestly the best treatment! The bar area was lovely, the pool was always warm and clean. The room was spacious and comfortable for the five of us. The breakfasts were always delicious and very accommodating for my children's needs The location was perfect! Far away enough from the sea front so that it was quiet in the evening but close enough a two minute stroll and we were on the beach. I loved the cross stich artwork, it gave the place a very personal touch, very home like.

The parking was limited, and those that did park there didn't park very well, taking up, most of the time, enough space for two cars, forcing us to park on the street. Perhaps parking bays would fix that? A few noticeable touch ups need doing, like old windows could do with replacing because condensation made anything near the window a bit damp And the bathrooms could do with an update
