The best thing of all was the staff who were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Service at meals was prompt and efficient. My room was large, well furnished and the bed was blissfully comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. I noticed that all the furniture was solid wood, not veneered chipboard. Mirrors were substantial and conveniently placed and the bathroom was large and well appointed with a good selection of toiletries. The food was first class and very reasonably priced. They even had one of my favourite ales on draught!

My only grumble was that it was a bit noisy at bedtime. Although the bedrooms were in a separate wing of the house, some sound penetrated from cheerful drinkers in the bar. There was also the usual drivel of pop tunes at breakfast, though the waitress did turn down the volume when I asked her.

We had a lovely stay at The Corbet Arms, we arrived before check in but we're told our room had been cleaned and were ready for us! Always a bonus. Very nice pub with a great beer garden, unfortunately we stayed in winter so didn't get chance to use it. Rooms were very modern and extremely clean we had a river view which was lovely to wake up to. Food was very nice and well priced. So glad we opted to stay just outside of Shrewsbury as its only a short taxi ride into town and this tranquil setting was just what we needed. Will definitely be going back!

We love this hotel. Excellent food, really delicious. And the staff are fantastic, always so pleasant and cheerful and eager to help. This extends to the cleaning staff, who are really lovely. The hotel is about 2 miles outside Shrewsbury, so walkable if you're feeling up to it. Lots of great bars and restaurants in the town, but the food at the hotel is great. There is a lovely terrace and steps down to a peaceful beer lawn by the river.

We love Room 5 but unfortunately couldn't have it this time. Instread we were in Room 7 which is tiny, dark and very stuffy, possibly the worst room in the place. Over the years, we've stayed in a number of other rooms, all of them have been great, but we drew the short straw this time sadly. This will not stop us from staying there again, but next time we will specify NOT Room 7. The staff's advice was to use their website as a specific room can be chosen when booking, Which is what we will do for next time.

We received a friendly welcome upon arrival with friendliness continuing throughout our stay. Both dinner and breakfast was of a high standard with breakfast being one of the best ever. Our room had recently been decorated so was bright and shiney with fittings of a high standard and a most comfortable bed. Adjacent rooms were in the process of being decorated but with no disruption to our stay - even the decorator had a friendly chat with us! The location beside the River Severn was peaceful yet within easy reach of a Park & Ride into the centrte of Shrewsbury. All in all, a most pleasurable stay.NNN

Myself and my friends were unable to take breakfast due to our having to leave early, this was not the fault of the hotel. However it did smell great. The service in the bar and restaurant was very good, pleasant and helpful staff. The room exceeded my expectations for the money I paid especially compared to my friends. I am going to visit with my wife and will be back next year. Hopefully I'll get the same room.

There was nothing I can say, the lights in the beer garden were a little bright but I am being picky. They went off so no problem.

I stayed here whilst selling at Shrewsbury Livestock Market. It was ideally located, only 5 mins down the road. The room (Room 10) was immaculately clean, well finished, spacious with a good view over the river and beer garden. Having holiday lets myself I was surprised of the standard for the price. I also had dinner at the bar, the food and beer were both great as was service.

Only if I had to be super picky, the seal on the bedroom window made a buzz noise when windy and the shower wasn’t dried off before arrival (although it was super clean). These didn’t affect my stay though and I will be back annually at sale time.

Lovely, immaculately kept country inn. nice restaurant and bar. really pleasant staff. Room spacious comfortable very well presented inc 4 poster bed, property newly decorated spotlessly clean. Dinner/breakfast menu very good choice and very good value and service. Restaurant seems popular with locals (which is always a good sign). Ample parking, and nice patio and gazebo area to the rear. Nice village ,location ideal for Shropshire attractions.

I liked my room it had lots of space it had just been refurbished and was very clean my bed was very comfy 😴 I like the big shower room i didn't hear any noise at all and it was xmas i slept very well then went for something to eat in restaurant the food was excellent 🙂

My room felt cold. I went to ask the staff if they could have a look they really went out there way to sort it for me it soon felt nice and warm.All the staff i spoke to were very polite 🙂

Had the best room in the house. Lovely views over river severn. Chairs to relax in. Spacious and clean. Lovely simple furniture. Space for a case on the floor. Restaurant very good, food was excellent - don't lose that chef!! Breakfast - special orders no problem. Huge terrace if you want to sit outside, rolling lawns down to river.

Very little to not like. If I was being picky, a bit of grouting in the bathroom - but apparently this room is next for a refurb. Other rooms were being refurbished so stair carpets were covered, but it will look lovely.

Stayed overnight to delay a long drive home after large-scale dining in the excellent restaurant in the company of other family members. Good quality fare, as usual. Our room was well appointed and spotlessly clean, the bed super king size and comfortable - nicely furnished too, with loads of stowage space for those on longer stays. Good en-suite facilities and a ready supply of piping hot water. We took breakfast as an addition to our booking; pleased we did, as it was very of good quality at reasonable cost.

Air temperature in the room a little chilly and the air-con controller seemed to have been disabled. Room lighting fairly basic.
