From the moment we arrived until the moment we left everything about the hotel was exceptional The warm welcome by the reception staff the room the location the bar staff. Just one huge blip in the whole experience that nearly ruined everything about the reason for our visit. We took the advice from the reception staff to book us a Taxi to attend the Utilita Arena unbeknown to us as we are not local we trusted the recommended Taxi Firm Driver to take us to the Correct Venue. The reception did also helpfully from their local knowledge tell us to attend well ahead of the Take That concert time due to Friday evening traffic congestion. The Taxi driver unbeknown to us took us to the NEC the wrong venue. It was after he had dropped us off and was having a pre concert meal and drinks excited about the forthcoming event that we learnt from staff present that we actually needed to be in Birmingham City Centre near the Canal. Immediately we were stressed but fortunately due to the staff at the NEC quickly got a Taxi and arrived late to the performance by 15 minutes but fortunately Olly Murs was late starting and we didn't miss the Main event Take That. In summary do not trust the Hotel's recommended Taxi Firm quite clearly some of the employees ie our Taxi Driver didn't have the local knowledge of where we should of been when we clearly said to him the Utilita Arena and stick with Uber Taxi's. £45 going plus £5 tip £35 Uber Taxi return Arena to Hotel. Otherwise A Fantastic Weekend and we are back in June for Pet Shop Boy's At The Utilta Arena Birmingham not the NEC

The bed was very comfortable, and I was happy to walk into a warm, clean room The receptionist was brilliant with the information given, and we did have a little miscommunication but was resolved quickly

I think you need to speak to some of housekeeping and your restaurant staff about manners how to speak to customers, and their hygiene wasn't comfortable smelling staff armpits in the morning in the restaurant at breakfast time Was lovely my cousin received room service but with no cutlery to eat and no cups to drink tea and coffee with, when asked for the cutlery received no help from the staff member I spoken too was told have to go to restaurant to get cutlery, phone was playing up so couldn't call down.

The room was neat and tidy. Friendly staff.

I opted to pay for breakfast on the morning I was leaving and the receptionist said it would be £15. Although I thought this was expensive but had got a way to travel when left so needed to eat. The machine wasn’t working and she told me to go to the restaurant and they would take payment. Well they wanted to charge me £16.99 or £12.99 for continental. I need hot food but had to go for the cold food. The staff offered me a guest discount but charged more at restaurant. Feel the staff need to communicate with each other as I was very disappointed. It became very expensive for a night out and I had to pay £10 parking. Crafty way to make money in my opinion.

From the moment I stepped into the voco, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. This hotel truly exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful; by simply offering a friendly smile, they made me feel truly valued as a guest. The rooms were beautifully appointed and impeccably clean, with comfortable beds and luxurious linens. The bathroom was very spacious and added an extra touch of luxury to my stay. The bar staff were lovely and friendly. I was not sure which cider I would like, as they had brands I had not tried before. The lovely young lad behind the counter recommended me one, and also was happy to give me a little taster sip, and may I say it was a lovely recommendation. Also, the reception staff were lovely.  The hotel's location was perfect, within easy walking distance of a pub or supermarket; just a 5-minute walk and you're in the town center. I found it incredibly convenient to explore the city and enjoy all it had to offer. Overall, my stay at the voco was truly exceptional. It's a hotel that truly understands the meaning of hospitality, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, luxurious, and memorable stay.

The room was clean and very comfortable. The room facilities were very good and included a complimentary bottle of water, biscuits, tea, coffee etc. iron, ironing board. Breakfast was excellent.

The only reason I didn’t give full marks was because you have to pay extra for the car park, which is something I’ve never experienced before. They have a large car park which surrounds the hotel and plenty of parking spaces. I was quite shocked to find out it would cost me an extra £10 to park for 24 hours!! Such a shame they feel the need to charge their customers to use their parking facilities.

We thought the hotel was very convenient for a night's stay prior to catching an early morning flight. The room was excellent, very spacious and the most comfortable bed we had slept in for ages. There were nice touches, such as bottled water in the room and a personalised wake up call in the morning. The room was ten out of ten. The staff were efficient and generally accommodating.

The bar wasn't cosy at all. Quite cold temp when we used it and rather austere. Good to be offered nuts with our drinks however. We didn't use the restaurant as they didn't serve until 7pm. We ventured out instead. 6pm would have been more convenient for us or 6.30. Seemed a bit late for a hotel.

The hotel is fairly recently renovated so the rooms are comfortable and bathrooms clean and modern. (Large showers which we like and the lack of a bath didn’t bother us.) We also liked the adjoining rooms for our family and the breakfast had a good choice and was tasty. The location is very good - within easy walking distance to Solihull shops and restaurants, and close to the M42 and airport. We chose to return to this hotel because we feel it’s great for our family and good value for money. And all the staff are so friendly - the icing on the cake : )

Nothing.

Dee, the chef was great, and breakfast was 10/10. Gym was well equipped and just needs a few more heavier dumb bells. Rooms were good size

Party on boxing day, which got out of hand. Almost had to call the police at 3am as staff were useless. When we complained and the matter investigated, we were informed that the night staff didn't hear anything, even though there were reports of broken door, handles, pictures and a TV almost ripped off the wall. The staff need to be investigated to why it was covered up. Rooms are noisy due to no sound proofing on the room door.

My husband, grandson, and I stayed for two nights we had a suite and it was lovely, There was a seating area with a sofa bed and a separate bedroom, and there was so much space we never felt on top of each other, The room was clean and tidy on arrival.

The breakfast and the price of the food let down our visit, I had my breakfast in my room and it was buffet style you chose how many of each item you would like, the sausages looked cheap and very small and the mushrooms were not peeled. I would rather have a plate of excellent cooked breakfast items than a buffet, we ate somewhere else or took food back to the hotel after that

I have an electric car, I was able to charge at the BP charge points in the grounds. Location is a stones throw from town centre. Pool is ok, only 1.2m deep, but you can easily swim in that. Spa works well. Sauna is ok.

Breakfast wasn't brilliant, I think they'd improve if they added a grill with a person cooking eggs fresh for you. Beans seemed very fluid for Heinz, I don't think they were, seemed to be on the smaller side too. Sausages are just pork, they should have Cumberland or similar on offer, as the pork were very bland. Tomatoes were good though. As is the toaster.
