A nice hotel at a nice location where we have stayed many times.

Upon booking I asked for a room near reception, overlooking the carpark. This was agreed by the hotel, who assured me that one of these was to be saved. On arrival we had been allocated a different room overlooking the rear of the hotel. I had moved our booking by one day, and tried to contact the hotel three times to confirm that our allocated room was still saved for us, once through Booking.com. I had no reply to these requests. We have stayed at this hotel many times, but each time there has been problems at breakfast with hot and cold drink receptacles not being regularly filled up, namely coffee, hot water, fruit jucies, milk. We have had to ask every stay for these receptacles to be replenished.

Good location Nice staff Clean comfortable rooms Good value for money

Too few staff to give a good service to customers. Staff are rushed off their feet trying to cope. No staff behind the bar at times as they seem to be away covering other jobs. Breakfast was a constant problem asking for items like juices, hot water, coffee to be topped up. Cooked breakfast was often not hot, and took a while to arrive. This all appears to be down to insufficient staff numbers, as staff that are there are trying their best.

Easy to locate in a little village called Knowle. Parking great. Staff were wonderful, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We were a three generation family, Mum, Daughter and Granddaughter. Room was very spacious with double aspect windows. Plenty tea, coffee etc. Bathroom very spacious and clean. Restaurant was bright airy and plenty artwork to show the history of the area and accommodation. The menu had plenty to offer for everyone including the children's menu. Service was again perfect and extremely friendly. Food was a delight and full of flavour. Would highly recommend and will be returning. Many thanks to all the staff.

Loo flush on wall a little temperamental.

I have used the hotel on several occasions and it meets my expectations. The rooms are clean, comfortable, good quality beds The food is always good. Staff are very accommodating, pleasant and professional and nothing is too much of an effort. As a 'regular', and sometimes a lone traveller, you are made to feel welcomed.

As with my other stays I asked for a Ground Floor room with due to mobility issues and a heart condition. However this time it could not be accommodated, so I was given a room which they considered to be near reception, however this was up two flights of stairs, along a corridor and up a further flight of steep stairs, and again along the corridor. Was slightly disappointed. By the time I got to the room, I was too exhausted to go to reception and enquire whether there was an alternative room.

The room was really good, clean and everything we needed was available. The food in the restaurant totally let the hotel down, as it was just about inedible. The breakfast was good but could have been better, as the bacon was hard enough that my wife could not eat it and the hash brown was soggy.

The meal in the restaurant was not good at all. We ordered the "Chef Special" thinking that a chef had actually made it from fresh, unfortunately not. WE ordered the "Sea Trout En papillote" and to our surprise the fish was white and not the pink that it should have been? the whole carrots actually wobbled when you picked them up and had a wrinkled texture, broccoli stems were uncooked and the potatoes were a brown colour in the middle.

rooms were excellent spacious, clean and comfortable. loved the coffee bags! excellent value for money. we had an excellent meal in the restaurant too

my husband and i booked 4 rooms in total one room for us and 3 others for friends. despite emailing the hotel and also having a lengthy discussion with someone at the hotel about the bookings ie who was staying in each room, there was still total confusion when one of our friends booked in. if it hadnt been for this it would have been 10 out of 10

The room was very nice, exactly as in the photo, with plenty of room to move around, bed was a little firm for me but still very comfortable. The staff at breakfast were helpful and attentive, and the breakfast was cooked to order so was hot.

The sour dough toast at breakfast was tough but edible. We ate in the hotel on Saturday evening, it was very busy and there were not enough staff on duty to look after everyone so service was slow. The staff on duty were very helpful even though they were rushing around trying to attend to everyone.

Only 10 minutes drive to NEC (Visited Crufts) but in a lovely countryside location. Room was super clean and beautifully decorated. Checkout was very easy.

The bathroom is very small considering how big the bedroom is. Thin walls, could almost hear the neighbours conversation word for word.

Great find - reception at the hotel was friendly and efficient. Room was excellent - good size, modern bathroom, clean and fresh. They also do a supper club menu which gives you 3 courses for £17.99 - great value. Lovely location and will definitely stay there again if I get the chance.

I couldn't find any water in my room to drink - usually there is bottled water on the tea tray? Maybe it had been missed or perhaps they don't provide it. Also chose to eat in the bar as less formal than the restaurant when you are dining alone however it took 2 hours from order and I hadn't got my dessert so didn't have it as was too tired to wait any longer! I am sure it would have been as good as the other 2 courses if I had waited! Perhaps eat in the restaurant to get better attention and a dedicated server? Having said that food that I did have was lovely :)

Really nice hotel in the town center. Spacey rooms, which is not very common tbh. Also, spacey bathroom with both bathtube and shower. Helpful staff. Dozens of power sockets in the room - this might sound silly, but in most hotels I've stayed there's always not enough sockets, and the ones that are present are either already taken or in incovenient places. Not the case here, bring all the electronics you want and you won't have any issues recharging them! Good breakfast, and it's nice to have a decent pub downstairs.

Honestly pretty much everything is ok. If I had to find something, I'd say the beer selection in the pub is a bit limited if you are a beer geek (it's not too bad in general though), and it's a bit akward that you need to buzz the night portier when you get back after midninght. Both of those things are really not that important though, overall they did not spoil our experience at all.
