I had a digital mishap booking another hotel, the booking didn't go through properly and I had a frantic search for somewhere else. The Regency Hotel offered an affordable night's sleep, so I gave it a shot. I frequently travel between the UK and France, so it breaks the hours of driving up a little. The room isn't some super beautiful photo-worthy place, but it ticked every box I needed. Comfortable, friendly, great breakfast, lovely staff, and the place has a bit of character. Also, affordable and somewhere I will definitely be going back to. My son also loved it. They are doing some work in the outdoor seating area, but I never heard a peep. The bed was comfortable, the room came with a TV, kettle, tea/coffee, the usual things like shower gel, soap, towels, etc. The guy at the front desk (Wednesday 31st July, night time) was awesome, very friendly and chatty, funny and helpful. Breakfast was really good, nice selection of cold or hot food, drinks, etc. and affordable. Exactly what you need after a long drive. What can I say, it's not a luxury hotel, but it's right on price point and I have nothing negative to say.

Nothing comes to mind.

The food was delicious and reasonably priced and the restaurant was nicely decorated and well maintained. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful

I appreciate it was only a single room. However it was very noisy due to the ventilation system a few yards from the window which was operating all night. The bathroom window is only single glazed so even with the door shut its fairly loud. The other issue was the shower. The shower head is mounted at the very far end of the bath. To get under it you have to balance on the slopey bit. I would have taken a bath instead but... No plug!

the room was spacious and comfortable. the staff were hard working and super helpful and the food was amazing.

there were nowhere near enough plug sockets or lights. the sockets that were there were unaccessable and, bizarrely, round pin! there was no bedside lamp on my side of the bed which meant I couldn't read at night without disturbing my sleeping husband. it was muggy and humid so we had to have the windows open for some air but a noisy party spilled out onto the car park under our window with shouting and shrieking until early hours. this was only on the Saturday night. it was all peaceful on the friday

What I liked about this hotel is not only is it exceptional in style and quality. The location is minutes away Fri highways and local shopping. Close to fuel stations and supermarkets. Now the stay mostly are amazing especially Jack on front of house. Always goes above and beyond. An amazing young man. Now today I wanted to check in but when phoned I was greeted with regency hotel ( that’s it no name no appreciation and definitely had an attitude. I asked if jack were available and replied no. Again with attitude. So who ever that was needs to appreciate customer services. And go back to hospitality school again. I spend £1000s on hotels and that’s not how to great a customer. Anyways back to jack I had an issue with my room and jack did everything in his power to address the issue and even moved me rooms for the inconvenience it caused me. 10/10 for jack. Cleaners most were pleasant and caring good job guys. Bar staff top marks for them so help full and considerate. Well done food amazing great chef their excellent cooking. Grounds are outstandingly clean and beautiful. So 10/10 for the garden guys great work. So all in all I give the hotel a 7/10 only due to the mr attitude I spoke with today. If he was the manager then wow I’ve never been address on the phone with such an attitude. Can’t wait to post on trip advisor. About customer service. And yes I cancelled my check in due to this. So lost a £300 stay. I might even cancel my 3 months stay which is another £5800 I like to be acknowledged as a guest not just a number that don’t mean anything and that’s how he made me feel.

As above

I was travelling from Taunton to Northampton, and I had car troubles on the motorway. I checked into your Hotel where I had to stay until my vehicle was repaired, and all I can say is WOW. Amazing service from Nicky, Cath, Abby, Jag the wonderful Housekeeper, the Restaurant and bar staff, and in general, everyone who works there. I felt like I had friends around me at all times. I found your Hotel lovely, and as I like to say, the success of any organisation is almost solely dependent on the staff employed there. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Having to leave.

Breakfast was really good & hard working staff so polite & helpful. Meals in the Sport Bar & in the restaurant were also excellent. The hotel staff were all so friendly & quick to sort out any small problems, (our sink plug didn’t empty very well & the shower tap was hard to switch on, but they fixed it straight away)

Unfortunately we didn’t realise how much all the taxis would be as the hotel is situated a fair distance away from the NEC & airport & the city centre. No close bus or train station. On our first night there were a group of ladies talking & laughing very loudly in the room adjoining ours until 5am so difficult to get to sleep but this wasn’t the hotels fault just could have had better soundproofing. Noisy Wedding party on Saturday night until 2am & restaurant packed for breakfast on the Sunday morning so staff struggling slightly to cope as they were 2 down due to sickness.

Location .. easy to find using google maps from the airport Price was reasonable for a tourist who loses 50% of their currency when converting... The room was small with a comfortable king single bed, which was perfect for the solo traveller. Really, it's a budget hotel.. suited me. Front desk lad was very helpful... He carried my suitcase up to the 1st floor.. (The lift was not working)

Lift not working... but the front desk lad quickly helped. It's not a new problem. The lift out of order, it seems.

The situation was excellent, close to the NEC, than our previous stays in the area. The staff we encountered were courteous and helpful. The room was just as good 👍🏾

I wasn't happy about the location of our room. It was on the 2nd floor, and being a massive hotel, it was a very long walk with doors and corridors to manoeuvre. The lift, which I believe was the only lift for such a massive hotel, was not working throughout our stay. We checked with reception regarding this, but they didn't seem to have any solution.

The homeliness of the hotel with a very nice old school feel. The staff were friendly and professional and the hotel was good value for money. It was a very welcome break from Premier Inns which I tend to stay at when on business around the UK.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like about my stay. the restaurant was very nice but extremely expensive (comparative to The Regency target guest) with what I consider to be a very limited menu.

Hotel is undergoing refurbishment. My room was in a newer wing, it was clean and tidy and pretty quiet. Furniture ok and bed bouncy but comfortable. Bathroom a little tired but all worked ok and shower pressure was excellent. Stayed 5 nights and bed was changed every day, bedding is good quality and clean. Bar & restaurant are lovely and food is good, especially the chocolate bomb. Breakfast was fresh and tasty every day. Staff are ok.

Lack of WiFi and struggled to get phone signal. WiFi available but security certificate has recently expired so don't recommend risking using it. Colleague had 5G on his phone and was fine, but for me 4G kept dropping out and I often had no signal at all. Lift was out of order for first 3 days but did get fixed before I left.
