The location of the hotel is central to the shops and other St Helens tourist attractions e.g. World of Glass. I couldn't fault the service and the food was good. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The bathroom was well appointed and suitable for disabled guests with assistance pull cords and grab rails if needed.

Although the bed was very comfortable, I had difficulty getting in and out of it if I needed to use the bathroom in the night as I have arthritis so a slightly firmer mattress would possibly have been better. I didn't like the fact that the shower was over the bath. Even though it was a low bath, for a person on their own with arthritis or any other disability it was difficult to get in and out of. So saying I knew the shower would be over the bath when I booked my accommodation.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Girl on reception was lovely chatted to her a couple of times. Free parking. Breakfast was nice, although I would've liked a little more choice other than full English (or variation of) for hot options as im usually an eggs benedict girl. However, it was made fresh and very nice. Stayed for access to liverpool without the price of liverpool central hotels but for an easy drive in on the morning. There are tons of places to eat within minutes walking and the cinema is right there too. TCB chinese was a great experience for food!

Headed straight for the pool, which was a bit of a disappointment. Very strange shape with a big triangle cutting it in half, and because swimming lessons were on and tons of kids in too, I wasn't actually able to swim. Had a few mins in the jacuzzi instead. And it didn't open till 8 am, and due to having to leave the hotel at 830 in the morning, it meant i missed my morning swim. Id usually swim at 6am.

Great hotel great price too, the room was spotless and had everything we needed, the staff were super cool and very helpful' I would and have recommended the hotel to my family and friends via social media. we'll be staying again real soon.

the only gripe I had were the cheap "primary school" type loo paper which was well out of place and to be honest I'd rather pay a few pounds more for something nice. I ordered a beef sandwich from the bar to take to my room, and found £8.00+ (and another £3.00 if you have it delivered to your room) a little excessive for what it was, if your going to charge premium rates for food make sure the contents make it viable and not use razor thin beef that seemed to be from a packet rather than from the hotel kitchen.

We went to watch the rugby and the location is perfect you can walk to the ground. The bed was massive and so comfortable. I would definitely recommend the nachos, the best I have ever had. Also the hotel had a special offer on we usually stay a little out of town as it is a little cheaper but the price was spot on for this time.

This was only a small thing because everything was lovely but the shower kept changing from hot to cool, I was doing a little dance jumping to and fro from the water. It was very powerful but no matter how much I tried I could not get the temperature right and even.

The Mercure Hotel at St. Helens was excellently located to the motorway for my onward travels. The hotel was clearly an excellent corporate venue, and had ample catering services, offering breakfast, lunch and evening meals. However, this facility was closed for renovation during my recent stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The reception staff members who I engaged with were polite, friendly and very helpful; definitely were a shout-out if I could remember their names.

The politeness of all the staff from different areas was the most memorable, the room, 306, privilege, was just as it should be, comfortable in all aspects, pleasantly warm all night, there was a wedding event also on but the noise was unobtrusive, the late night pizza ordered was delivered promptly to the room and was just right after a night out.

1. Upon arriving back to the hotel after 10.30pm the lift didn't seem to be operational with a warning symbol displayed onscreen, so climbing 6 flights of stairs arrived at the room, an unplanned workout!! 2. The shower water temperature fluctuated between pleasantly warm to max heat constantly, the water pressure for a third floor room was not the issue, plenty of water. 3. The shower head and frame seemed to be budget compared to the rest of the room fittings 4. The breakfast arrangements were self service, the selections were sufficient but because a coach party was also dining it was chaotic to get what you desired

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and appeared to be either new or recently refurbished - i.e. not shabby or worn. The room was a good size, clean and warm. Beds were comfortable. Very quiet at night - didn't hear a thing, Didn't eat here or have breakfast so can't comment on the food. The bar was suprisingly comfortble and quite busy - and decent prices. Location is good - close to town centre and major retail development with plenty of food choices. 15 minutes walk to the railway station and the rugby ground.

Nothing - all was good.

Staff were friendly and approachable. Facilities were good and Ben on the Leisure/Pool facilities area was really warm and welcoming (credit to the hotel! - take note Mercure!) Normally the leisure facilities staff in hotels can be somewhat boring or they keep themselves to themselves. But he was an asset to the company on his welcome, information, and ensuring all was good. Breakfast team were also very friendly and warmly welcoming. Beds were comfy, room was clean, and the bathroom was of decent standard also

Only thing that could have been improved was the House keeping from room service. We left for breakfast at 9am and there were left out plates of food from the night before. It doesn't take a few mins to run trolleys round the floors at say 7am - 9am and clear away anything left outside the doors. We were on level 2, and at 9am we walked past 2 rooms with plates left out (that had clearly been left there from the night before).

Modern hotel with good-sized rooms, very comfortable beds, good parking and is nicely decorated. Excellent and friendly staff on reception and the breakfast area. Nice to have pool etc, though we didn’t use.

A very minor complaint but I think the bathroom taps have water saving flow reducers in them. Unfortunately, because the sink is quite shallow the water jet bounces off of the sink and over the user. This can easily be improved.
