Clean, friendly staff, excellent value, good size car park! Me and my daughter needed a place to stay after a concert, we didn’t need anything fancy just a clean room and a comfy bed and that’s exactly what we got for a great price. Toiletries and towels, tea and coffee in the room for the morning. We had a great night sleep and the staff were fab!

The only negatives for us was there was only one pillow each, and the tv didn’t work, the tv was on standby and the sensor on the remote lit when pressing the button but no joy so we just used the iPad.

Newly decorated and with a Horse Racing theme. Very good thinking as I suspect that a large majority of people staying will be going to Haydock Park (2 miles away). Our room was very nice and the walk in wet room/bathroom was lovely. Great atmosphere in the restaurant.

Our electrical sockets suddenly stopped working during the night (no big deal).

We didn't stay at Ibis Styles, but were relocated to Mercure Haydock as Ibis was closed to holiday makers. Mercure Haydock was fantastic. Friendly staff, great comfortable rooms, beautiful surroundings and great location. Hotel was busy with business people, but quiet during the night. That will probably not be the case when a wedding is going on as the suites are right next door. Based on our stay, the stay was excellent.

Excellent location for St Helens where we visiting friends. Staff lovely. Bar open till 10.45. Warm . Check out not till 12pm. Got a lie in. Lounge nice to sit and have a drink. Lovely towels. Gokd shower.

No biscuits on drinks tray. Wouldve been a nice sweet end to our evening. Only one pillow each. Other Ibis Hotels have spare ones in the room. Pillows were flat. Not comfy. I know we couldve probably got some more but wouldve had to go down to reception. Other Ibis hotels have a free coffee machine ..all day ...but not at Haydock. I had a Bacardi equivalent at the bar ...no real Bacardi. It was vike and tasted like dettol !!! Yuk.

The Staff were ALL very friendly and courteous. The breakfasts were all well set out and very tasty. A good selection for all tastes. VERY clean room and comfortable.

We had a poor experience with our door lock. The key card wouldn’t work and so we had to continually keep going back to reception for help getting in. A couple of times staff actually had to come with keys to let us in. It was a bit inconvenient because I had to keep leaving my husband who is disabled waiting in the corridor whilst I went to seek help. This carried on from Friday till Sunday teatime before a lady member of staff solved it finally. I have to say that through it all, the staff were very helpful.

Breakfast was excellent, staff were friendly and attentive, although a little slow to replenish the breakfast trays Bedroom was clean, but the shower floor needed re-grouting in places. Towels are lovely and fluffy, and there are containers of shampoo and body wash for guests, as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

Bed not that comfortable... a bit too hard! I was given a room that was almost level with the main road outside with 'a lot' of traffic noise, even though I requested a quiet room. I was visiting for a family funeral and wanted quiet time, but the noise of the traffic was quite disturbing... particularly as where I live at home there is no traffic noise at all.

Stayed over for the races. Great welcome by staff who also booked a taxi for us. We enjoyed a drink in the bar when we returned, Breakfast was delicious. 12 checkout was great as we didn’t have to rush out We would definitely stay agin

Bed very comfortable, hotel newly refurbished staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast good. I asked for a quiet room away from the road and the room we had was very quiet. Parking easy in front of hotel.

The bed was comfortable. A nice room which was clean and had plenty of space and a nice bathroom and shower which were very clean. The staff were very friendly and helped us with any of our needs and checkout was easy.

It is a little noisy at night. We woke up a few times hearing people shouting and running up and down but you get that in most places you go. The hotel can't be held accountable for these guests being noisy.

Lovely sized clean room, and bathroom. Fantastic black out curtains to allow us a lie in on the Sunday morning. No bright sun shinning through to wake us up too early!!

First comment, was the taste of the sausages for breakfast. Need to state what variety they were. Pork, pork and beef, Cumberland, Lincolnshire etc. That's maybe why they tasted unusual as we didn't know which they were. Second comment, I didn't ask though. But I'm a not a fan of oranges. They were mixed with the apple so couldn't have with the natural yoghurt at breakfast. Would prefer to see the sliced apple and oranges in seperate bowls.
