We were travelling with a dog. Poop bins was provided. Lightning on the streets was great to take your dog out late evening. Dogs welcome to the breakfast area. Very clean and quiet place. Parking,great atmosphere and amazing view.

Cosy and easy to get to/from

Slightly abrasive greeting from owner/manager who’s first words to me when I arrived to stay with my husband were “you only booked your room for one” and waved his credit card machine in my face. I had actually booked a group of rooms and had obviously made an error entering the number of people in my double room - but he clearly thought I was pulling a number on him and trying to get a free breakfast as that was his problem. I hadn’t paid for two breakfasts!!. Stop the press!! Anyway once I’d paid, Basil Fawlty was put away and he was sweetness and light. But we warned make sure you click 2 people on your drop down menu (as his wife usefully pointed out to me) if you want to pass go!

We both indulged in a full English breakfast, which came with the room. The dining area was a lovely orangery out back, bathed in light and overlooking fields dotted with sheep—it was like eating in a countryside painting. My friend, an American, bravely tackled her very first black pudding. Of course, she had no idea what it was, and the waitress only explained it after she'd already eaten it. The timing was impeccable—let’s just say my friend’s face went from "Oh, this is interesting" to "Wait, I ate what?!" faster than you can butter a crumpet. To her credit, she handled it like a champ, although I suspect her new breakfast mantra is now, “Ask first, chew later.”

One of the beds in the family room needs to be replaced like pronto. We did mention it and suspect this has already been done.

We had a great stay at Inn for all seasons! The position is very convenient if you are travelling by car, easy to find and with easy access to parking. Every single member of the staff was infinitely kind and caring. The room was what we expected, very cosy and warm, comfortable and with everything needed in it (except for a hair dryer). The inn is immersed in the green and we woke up with snow so the landscape was incredibly suggestive and lovely. We ate a very good dinner and an excellent breakfast which was also included with the room. This is a place worth staying!

Only thing I can complain about is the absence of a hair dryer in the room. Everything else was perfect for us!

Our room (2) was spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed (I guess King Size). There were sufficient sockets (one with USB) and a good hairdryer. Dinner was very good, with excellent Vegan options, and a range of beers; Riley (?) was very helpful. Breakfast also excellent; the Continental was a bit sparse, but the Cooked option was really good. Again, excellent service from our waiter. There is a lovely Public Footpath from the grounds, leading down through meadows to the river at Barrington.

The bathroom had a flexible shower hose over the bath - we'd have preferred a shower cabinet with thermostatic valves but it's our fault for not specifying this. The sash window wouldn't stay open without putting something under it. Otherwise no problems. Room 7 has a shower cabinet (but it's up some steep steps).

Very kids and pet friendly Inn. Riley is an absolute treasure in the Inn, incredibly accommodating and kind. We wanted to watch a football game and the staff (Riley) found us separate room where we could connect laptop and eat delicious dinner watching the game with two families and fairly loud kids. Very chilled atmosphere and nice decor too. Admirations to the chef as well, as everything we ate was very nicely prepared and delicious. Generous portions as well.

The small downside was a busy road in front of the Inn so if you are a light sleeper you may need earplugs. The traffic starts around 4-5am.

Room was lovely, Comfortable bed, exceptionally clean and the room had all we could want in it. Breakfast was really tasty, held in the conservatory and the staff we came across were very friendly and helpful. We were attending a wedding with family, at Stone Barn just down the road so we drove and got a taxi back. Ample parking. Our son and his fiancee stayed the night before as well and ate in the restaurant. They were very impressed with the food and it was great to have everything for their evening on site with the cosy bar and restaurant.

The only SLIGHT downside is traffic noise but it is the main A40 so nothing they can do about that and this was probably the closest hotel to the venue so definitely not something that would put us off staying again. I only say this in case someone might want a completely rural experience.

We were in a family room, 3 ladies - we had a double bed and 2 singles so plenty of room. Bathroom en suite just wish the bathroom and loo were separate. Shower was OK a bit floppy but did the job. Loved the staff and the food, great dinner and breakfast and The Secret beer garden right at the back behind a hedge.

The pub itself is a beautiful old coaching Inn the downside is that its on a very busy road - The A40 and there was no let up in the traffic day or night. Also it's only 3 miles from Burford but taxi prices are ridiculous because the taxis have to come from way out.

It was a central location for visiting various locations such as Burford, Bourton on the Water, Bibury, and Blenheim Palace We felt looked after and relaxed in the evenings having dinner in the pub. Breakfast was delicious, too. Good food and cooked well. Our room was comfortable and clean on the whole. Good facilities with everything we needed. Food is cooked from fresh so don't expect quick food when busy. We were quite happy chatting and watching the world go by.

Not a lot. It was all fine. Be aware it is on the main road but it didn't disturb us. You can hear the traffic but lessened in late evening/early morning. And finally coming home!!

Very friendly welcome and tour of the Inn. Room was very large and comfortable and had everything we needed. Dinner was very nice. The main meal I wanted was not available so I was given a recommendation, which was very nice. Breakfast - pancakes were not available, so had porridge which was nice. Breakfast is held in a nice light conservatory. I would stay again, we really enjoyed our stay.

Single pane window - meant the road noise could be heard in the room and felt like the window was open. Also the curtains were very light - so let the light in. Did manage to have a good nights sleep but it would help if the window was upgraded to be double glazed and blackout curtains or blinds are needed.
