The room was a great size (with the hotel going through interior updates) although we had one of the dated rooms it’s was clean, tidy, a great size and well equipped. The location is amazing set within some amazing grounds, which is ideal as we love to park up on arrival and spend our time walking around the local area.

We did not participate in breakfast (personal preference) but we did stay for dinner both nights of our stay. The food was mediocre but at higher end prices. With cheese being an extra £3 on a burger which really is a basic staple of a burger. Chips are frozen oven baked chips. And the £19 chicken doesn’t come with any carb to the plate - no mash or roast potatoes which seemed a mean spirited portion for the price - although it was tasty I’m not certain it was value for money.

I arrived early at Stanton House Hotel, and requested to check in early if possible. I waited on the scenic garden terrace, and was allowed an early check in. The room (128) was superb, with everything I needed and plenty of space. The air conditioning worked, and I could control the temperature. At Dinner, I had Pork Belly, Chocolate Ice Cream and Peroni, and retired to bed well satisfied. Staff all very helpful and competent. Would I stay again? Yes.

Car parking is quite a long way from some of the rooms, so if you need anything out of the car, there is no short cut. The menu is fairly limited, but good quality. No Cask Beer, but they probably do not have the turnover to accommodate it.

Beautiful setting! Kids enjoyed watching the sheep! Pleasant and quiet! Breakfast hit the spot!

Room was very small. My wife thought the hallway carpets needed cleaning. I didn’t notice anything personally. The biggest issue I had was that the door locks make this incessant alarm sound if the door isn’t fully closed. I assume that’s for safety but it’s very sensitive and the time is very short before it starts to do it. I constantly felt like I was bothering people but I really couldn’t help it! I’ve never experienced that before in any hotel! Really would prefer if that function was deactivated.

Very pleasantly surprised to find that our free room upgrade to an "Executive Double Room" offered at the time of booking was actually a suite with a separate sitting area. Hotel was in a beautiful setting, bordering a quiet country park and overlooking a lake - perfect for a pre- (or post-) breakfast stroll. It was also very quiet at night, so a very good night's sleep with only the occasional bleating of nearby sheep to be heard.

Our room (on the top floor) was rather dark as the windows were small dormers, though fairly typical of a house of this age & style. Not really a dislike but pretty much the only thing to find fault with during our one night stay.

The staff and the cleaning staff were very helpful, the cleaning staff especially. They came and changed our bedsheets immediately when we asked them. The food at breakfast was nice. Beautiful location.

There was no granary bread at breakfast (only standard white or brown bread). The shower didn't work when we arrived, and we needed to ask at reception to have it fixed. Even after fixing it was still quite cold. The breakfast was lovely but not worth the price.

We stayed in the Swan Room, with the 4-poster bed. Everything was clean and fresh, air conditioning was a definite bonus as is was quite hot. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Dinner was first class, every course was prepared and presented really nicely, and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Views from the window across the fields and river were lovely and all in all we had a lovely weekend. We didn't get chance to explore the church, however from the outside it was very old and interesting.

The only thing we felt let the the hotel down was the garden and terrace. I'm a keen gardener so I notice things like that - I would have like to have seen the weeds gone and the walkways more cared for. It's a small detail, I hope that next time we visit the owners will have had time to clear this up.

The hotel is lovely and set in amazing grounds. We had a very comfortable and clean room with a great view over the lake. The food and service was very good.

The fire alarm went off about 9.00pm on our 3rd evening - it was a false alarm luckily but it did knock out the boiler which meant we had no hot water for a time. We had to report it to reception and then were told that it would take at least half an hour to get hot again. It still wasn't hot in the morning - only luke warm for a shower which was annoying as we were there for work and needed an early start.

The vast green ground ❤️. The dinner was also quite lovely, although took about an hour to arrive & few of the items from menu were missing, may be because we booked quite late (around 8.30 PM) & there was a wedding party going on in the private area, not sure if that caused any delay. The staffs were helpful as well.

I booked a family room & a double room. On the day of arrival, I received a call from the hotel asking about whether I need an extra bed which they will charge £20 extra. Now, I had booked for 2 adults & 2 kids (10 & 5 years) then why do we have to pay extra for bed? Finally all 4 of us slept on one single king size bed.

The hotel location is exceptional, with ample parking, the walks around the lake and lovely grounds and gardens is peaceful and relaxing, there is a comfortable terrace, church next door, dining and breakfast were all good, Our room the lake view was very comfortable and had a great view. The Hotel is tucked away in a nice little part of the English Countryside and not far from the William Morris House - Kelmscott Manor, the Hotel location isn't far from Fairford, its pretty well on the gateway to the Cotswolds.

Nothing, all good

The room was excellent and very good value for money. Plenty of space and excellent facilities. Nice conservatory to lunch or relax in and very close to a country park which made for a nice Sunday morning walk. Lots of choice for breakfast too.

I was disappointed with my dinner. I ordered sirloin steak at £25 and whilst the steak was nice and well cooked, the plate as a whole was underwhelming, with just one mushroom and one tomato to accompany half a dozen steak chips. A couple more mushrooms, a few peas or a side salad would have made me feel like I was getting value for money. It certainly didn't feel worth the extra paid over other meals.
