We had an incredible weekend staying at the Thornhill, greeted by friendly, helpful staff who offered to carry our bags to our room. We were allowed to check in slightly early as we had travelled a long distance and had left early to beat any bank holiday traffic. Albeit small, the room was very clean and offered everything we needed the bed was comfy and the bathroom facilities very good. For a small B&B, breakfast was amazing, superb service, lovely food and great variety. A superb weekend in which I proposed to my now fiancé, a weekend we will never forget!

If I was being overly critical, we had to wait a little while before anyone met us to check in, despite agreeing an early check-in time. However, this was completely eradicated by the lovely welcome we were given and helpful staff. We were also early, so having to wait was not a problem. We were greeted by the very friendly Bo the dog, who welcomed us with sniffs!

We spent 3 nights here with our Dog. The room as large and very clean. The bed was very comfy. Shower was really good too, nice and hot and powerful. Had tea/coffee and kettle in the room and biscuits replenished every day. We found the owners and staff were all really friendly. Breakfast was spot on! There was a few cooked breakfasts to choose from although we had Full English every day. It was cooked to perfection and arrived nice and hot. Could have extra if we wanted. It came with a choice of toast and tea/coffee along with fruit salad, cereals and juices. The location is great. Right on the sea front with beautiful beech walks each way, cliff walk and gardens. The town centre only a short stroll away. Also a ferry to Sheldon just across the water for £2 each. There was a car park just up the road that was only £6 a day. There was also parking on the road opposite where it was easy to pull up unload our things. We would 100% recommend this for anyone visiting Teignmouth. Perfect for couples and dog friendly.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

The location of the accommodation was ideal, near to the sea front and shops and was within walking distance of the railway station. A large varied menu for breakfast was freshly cooked to order and there was a good selection of cereals, fresh fruit salad, and fruit juice available as well as a variety of teas and coffee. My room was for a single person, it was very clean and comfortable. The only dislike I had was the window had frosted glass as it faced other properties. This made it feel quite "closed- in" during any time I spent in the room as I could not see out at all. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and kept the breakfast room clean at all times.

As I said previously my only dislike was the lack of view from the room as the window had frosted glass because of the surrounding properties overlooking the hotel.

For travelling by rail the location was exceptional just 3-4 minute walk from the station. Located no more than a 5 minute walk from town centre and no more than 50 yards from the seafront! The room was clean, comfortable and an ideal size for a single traveler. The shower worked beautifully and the kettle took no time to boil water. The hosts were super and made me feel very welcome. Breakfast was lovely, plentiful and I can thoroughly recommend the eggs benedict. I was always offered extra toast etc.... by the hosts. A particular unexpected joy was Mules Park just up the hill from the Thornhill. The views out over Teignmouth are glorious and would have been even better had the weather been less cloudy. The sweets in the room were more than welcome.

One or two very minor niggles. One of the windows in the room (11) did not open. There is a lack of conveniently placed plug sockets close to the bed, one used for the kettle and the other had the lights. I was however able to use the trailing socket by unplugging one bedside light. The one plug socket close to the bed was loose and one end had come away from the wall. The chest of drawers has had a repair but the replacement handle came away in my hand.

Located on the quieter side of Teighnmouth which was perfect. Amazing sea view from our room. We could hear the waves as we fell asleep. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast options were brilliant and offered such a variety. Very tasty breakfast. Hosts we're very friendly and accommodating.

Only 4 milks given initially so had to phone to ask for some more. 4 more were brought to us and the next day another 8 was left in our room as they realised we drink alot of tea :). This is me being picky to think of something. The whole place was lovely and there isn't anything I didn't like.

The whole experience was loverly. The staff were very helpful and accommodating the room was spacious and the facilities were excellent the ensuite was very good again and excellent shower with more than enough toiletries and all good standards.

Couldn't fault anything about the property and facilities. The only thing is the parking which is out our the Thornhill hands and at £4.90 per day in the car park it is another expense on top. BUT that wouldn't put me of coming back

Excellent location for dog owners as it's 30 secs from the dog-friendly beach entrance, and a 3-5min walk to pubs and restaurants. Friendly, chilled and helpful owners and staff, giving local advice such as using the car parking app. Varied and delicious breakfast choices, including cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit and a selection of cooked dishes, including eggs royal.

No car parking spaces, but main car park is less than 2 minutes away and other spaces available opposite the hotel.

A lovely little hotel. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. The staff were friendly, helpful, and dedicated. We were only disappointed that our bathroom was along a corridor and passed other rooms. I read the description that the room had a bathroom and toilet, but I hadn't understood it wasn't en suite. This said, I'd stay again but ensure I booked an en suite room.

Sandy the proprietor met us and gave a warm welcome. The room was very clean, comfortable and with a sea view. The breakfast was amazing, so well cooked and quick to come out. We loved our walks along the seafront before breakfast and again in the evening. Parking at the front was fine, we were able to park from 6pm until 9am free each evening. We will definitely be staying again.

The Thornhill owners were very welcoming and contacted us before arrival to ask if we had any special requests. They very kindly let us leave our bicycles in the lounge room overnight, and at the end of our stay they let us to leave the bikes there to collect later - most helpful and again, very kind of them. We could see and hear the sea from our room, which was wonderful. The breakfast buffet and menu were excellent, and provided a great start to our day.

The only small improvement to our room would have been individual bedside lights rather than one wall light above the headboard, as an alternative to the central ceiling light.
