The location was great, however, the rooms are not in the actual pub, but just around the corner on the main square, which was good as no noise from the pub or the bars across the road either. However, there are fairly steep winding stairs up to the rooms, so need to take that into consideration if anyone is not very mobile. Bed was very comfortable, powerful shower. We decided not to have breakfast at the pub the next morning, but when checking out the breakfasts did look good. We have already booked to return later in the year, so would recommend.
No on site parking, however, there is a carpark situated near by on New Street and only a couple of mins walk to the room. Quite a difficult one way system to find it in the car, so needed to use Google Maps. £2.40 overnight charge from 6pm to 8am and then you have the option to extend and can do this via RingGo app.

Lovely English pub. Fantastic location. Our room was in the main pub and right at the top of the building. Lovely views over the square and huge!! Great wine list for a pub. No parking onsite but there is paid parking nearby. Food was very good. I didn’t give the staff a great score BUT this nothing to do with friendliness - they were polite and there were lots of them around. It is to do with communication and speed of service, and mainly around the food. We had a few drinks there and there were lots of us and had no delays with that side of things. I would stay here again.
Whilst the food was overall very good, the time it took to arrive after ordering is way too long with no communication. It took 55mins for breakfast to arrive and each time I asked I was told, it’ll just be a few more minutes…… when it arrived mine was tasty but some of our party’s meals had clearly sat under the lamp for ages and the bacon and sausage were very tough. We had a similar issue with our starters when we had dinner and they made a couple of mistakes which meant we didn’t have time for desert (it was a wedding meal so not just a standard dinner). The parking situation could be communicated better (small thing). The shower pressure was poor (I’m glad I didn’t have to wash my hair).

Great location in a pretty area close to many (other) pubs, restaurants, bars and shops. Staff were lovely and there was a nice atmosphere. The room was tasteful. We enjoyed a very nice breakfast outside in the sunshine.
The wardrobe smelt awfully funky so we couldn’t hang our clothes in it. The street outside was very noisy from very early in the morning with bin lorries, delivery vans, noisy chatter etc which woke us up earlier than we’d have liked (not the Rose & Crown’s fault, but it wasn’t a ‘quiet’ room as requested). There is no dedicated parking, however West Rock car park is a very short walk away with plenty of space on a Wednesday.

We liked everything. Coming into the room was already very nice. A nice change to common standard hotel rooms, as this room and the whole house has its own flavor. Rather large room. Clean and good bathroom. Friendly staff. Let us store our luggage for free, as we arrived early. We in addition tried the breakfast in the morning in the pub, which was excellent!
Really no idea. We had a delighted stay. Finding the hotel from the train station took us a while, but this can of course not be laid upon the hotel itself, and we new this in before.

Location was excellent. Right in the square within walking distance of everything. Room (4) was large. I think it was probably a family room as also had a single bed and an extra fold out bed in the wardrobe. Although it was above the pub we had no issues with noise. Park in West Rock carpark as it is only a 2 minute walk from the hotel and is a 24hr carpark.
Our window didn’t open so it was very hot overnight. A large fan was provided but it was much too noisy to have on and still sleep.

It was a great location, very convenient and of course dog friendly. I loved the welcome bed, bowls and treats for our dog, a really lovely touch.
The room although a good size was a bit shabby. Carpet had a big iron burn on it. Shower taps were literally hanging on with a thread. A bit of T.L.C. Is required throughout the place. Plus TV remote not compatible with the TV. And I have to mention the coat if drinks more expensive than London £19.00 for a glass of wine and a pint, I think is excessive.

Location was exceptional easy parking close by £8 for a 24 hour period, 5 minutes walk from the pub. Room was spacious, right in the middle of the square, secondary building from main pub. Dyson air purifier come fan, kept us cool and comfortable. Dog friendly. Bathroom excellent, grand in size and super clean, lovely big shower perfectly working too.
Stifling inside, needed the noisy fan on to keep cool. TV was a smart TV with no connection to the WiFi, very annoying and limited channels. Person choice but did not like the overpowering scented defuser, assumed because it was a dog friendly room, they felt they needed a strong perfumed defuser. Lots of stairs to get to the room, with carrying luggage and our elderly dog who was too small to climb the stairs anyway. Thick layer of dust on top of the wardrobe, wouldn't normally have noticed, was only because we placed our bags up on top for tidiness then got showered in a thick flurry of dust when we pulled them down.

Really well placed in the market square. Very clean and really lovely staff. Had breakfast which was very nice…also had a few drinks in the evening..nice too. Would definitely recommend and stay again. We were in room 8.
Very freaky floors and other residents were a bit noisy, not the fault of the pub. Few little issues but nothing to stress over. The arm of the chair was ripped and the voile net was ripped , we did mention it to the girl who was cleaning. My husband slept like a baby. I’m a light sleeper so noise can get to me a little.

Excellent location for us. Close yo restaurants Nd race track. Spacious room, clean and fresh linen and towels. Really good tea/coffee provision. Breakfast was very nice and available until almost lunchtime. Despite being a pub and it being a weekend there was no trouble with noise
Lack of power points near beds Unable to open window with ease. Very unsure whether it would stay open, scared it would fall back down. Tatty curtain in bathroom.

The rooms are well located in a central area of the town, so you can find everything you need around. The shower is good, and they provide good bath products, along with coffee, hot chocolate and tea with cookies, which was very handy and warming for my family after a long journey by car. There is a parking area about 4 minutes walking, £8/day, which is quite fair.
You have to go to the restaurant to grab the keys, which is in another building. To get to the room, you have to climb two stories of stairs, so be aware of that if you have mobility problems of if you are carrying a pram or heavy luggage. The sofa-bed was very uncomfortable, I would avoid that next time.
