The bed, although only a standard 4'6" double, was comfortable and we slept well. They don't officially do breakfast, but they left 2 pots of instant porridge and some muesli bars, along with bottled water, in the room, which was a pleasing gesture. We also appreciated our little seating area in the corridor. The location is good - once you realise you need to look out for the Gurkha restaurant sign, more prominent than the mention of the Woodcock Inn. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the meal in the restaurant was excellent!

For us, being on the second floor wasn't ideal, as the corridor roof slopes, and my husband is very tall. He also had to watch his head inside our room. The shower was adequate, but the door handle inside was loose, which we reported.

Having booked just the room it was a lovely surprise to find a pot of instant oats and a cereal bar provided in the room together with the normal coffee and tea - all we needed to continue our journey. The meal in the restaurant the previous evening was exceptional. The photograph of the room does not do it justice - all was clean and tremendous value. We visited in a heat wave but a large new fan cooled the room down! The Inn is on the road and there is traffic noise but it did not prevent a good night's sleep. Would definitely book again.

the room and en-suite were immaculately clean. The room was bright and all facilities that one would expect were in the room. The shower was very good. There was no breakfast as such but tea and coffee were provided with oat buiscuits and a pot of porridge that just needed boiling water adding to it. Also liked their Nepalese resaurant downstairs - wonderful dinner at affordable prices. Very pleasant staff too.

The mattress had reached the end of its useful life - time for a new one in the near future.

The room was extremely clean and they had great facilities including ensuite, towels, porridge, breakfast bars, tea and coffee with adequate milk and sugar. The staff made arrangements for our late check-in which was great

When we arrived it was dark and the building was not lit enough for us to see the name. It would not be suitable for a lone female to check-in late in the night. Also as soon as we turned into the road we had no internet connection on out phones and we are with different providers.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally helpful. Oh, and the food.... simply the best Nepalese/Indian food I have eaten for years! It was SOOOO delicious that I will try to stay here every time I am travelling from Gatwick airport in the future, as it's only a few minutes away. My family had several different dishes which we all tried and each one was incredible.

Staff very welcoming. Nice comfy bed with fan in room. Good selection of tea, coffe, water, porridge and cereal bars in room. Lovely area with benches outsider to have a drink. We had an excellent meal in the on-site Gurkha Restaurant. Convenient for Gatwick.

Our room (at front) was quite noisy due to traffic; rooms at back will be quieter; we had to close our window to reduce noise & it was a very humid evening but there was a fan. There is no lift to the rooms as they are on the first floor.

Good clean facilities. Had a double room which faces the rear of the property so reasonably quiet. Only stayed one night for an early start from Gatwick via purple parking. Had an evening meal in the Indonesian restaurant below which was good value and probably better than our local Gurkha which we rate quite highly. Will certainly use again. It's about 20 minutes drive to purple parking btw.

The roads around the area are in places badly potholed in places so if like us you are driving to Gatwick beware as there are some real tyre and wheel killers

Location was ideal for catching an early flight from Gatwick, room was clean and comfortable and early checkout was simple. Also appreciated the DIY breakfast items supplied with the room. We did not try the attached Indian/Nepalese restaurant although it seemed popular and the food smelled good but we took a short walk instead to the Wiremill lakeside pub and restaurant which was excellent with a great view.

Very little for the price and convenience.

We booked Woodcock Inn as a place to stay close to Gatwick prior to a very early flight. We just viewed it as a 'bed for the night' but it was really much more. We had a great meal in the onsite Indian restaurant, really excellent food. Our room was very comfortable and clean and unexpected touches such as toiletries and breakfast bars for convenience. As we were only there from 9pm - 3am it was a fleeting visit but we would happily stay again.

The radiator was turned to full blast and we couldn't turn it down so the room was very hot. Other than that no complaints from us.

Stayed here before getting at early flight from Gatwick. It was about 9 miles from the South Terminal parking, so ideal for the night. There was ample parking on site as well as a restaurant. The staff were very friendly, and the food in the restaurant was good. The room had everything we needed and it was comfortable and clean. Would stay again if catching a flight. It was great value.
