I got stuck in London on my way to Greece with my daughters due to an issue with my daughter’s passport. Luckily we found this hotel. These lovely people went above and beyond to assist us, including offering us a discount for the next night, giving us an assortment of food without charge when we were too late to order breakfast and lending us their own phone chargers. What a difference that made to a very stressful situation! And the hotel is lovely! A beautiful historic farmhouse, very nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. It is also extremely convenient to the airport, and directly on the bus route. Oh and they also arranged for a taxi for us to the airport. - Sam, I am so sorry we were running late that morning and to have disturbed you! —Don’t hesitate to stay here if you need to be by the airport - or even if you don’t. It is also a great place to stay with kids as they have a very nice yard with a great swing and some balls around. Thank you so much again, Oldlands Farmhouse!

Nothing!

A beautiful family home with a gorgeous wing on the side for guests. The #3 local bus is a 5 minute ride from Gatwick airport and drops you off at the driveway. Lovely walks nearby and a few restaurants within walking distance. Sam texted with me ahead of time to help get me to the correct bus, then met me at the front door and showed me around to the side entrance for guests. It opened into a beautiful sitting area with sofas and books. The guest bedrooms with private bathrooms are tucked off of the sitting area.

Nothing wrong with the property. It’s wonderful. Make sure you leave plenty of time to catch the #3 bus back to Gatwick. The return stop is across the street and down a little from the driveway. I ended up waiting 30 min in the rain as the bus did not come for one of its scheduled stop times. Thankfully it’s so close it didn’t matter for me.

Tired of cookie-cutter British houses and corporate hotels? This is an owner-run, rehabilitated old farmhouse where Elizabeth I used to stop to water her horses (the exact room is used for guests), very tastefully refurbished from its previously dilapidated state. The owner/manager, Sam, will take pleasure in showing you its historical features, priests' holes, different architectural styles, etc. There is a yard, good for little kids (but not fenced in); It is located off the beaten path but just a few minutes by bus or car from Gatwick Airport (bus No. 3 to the south, stop at the Greyhound Pub, the inn is across the street from the pub and easy to find). You can probably walk to/from the airport in about 40 minutes, a utilitarian and not too pleasant walk (over the bridge, it's an industrial zone; best to take the No. 3 bus through it). The neighborhood is composed of individual homes, each with its own style, which is refreshing after a week in the UK, where architectural monotony reigns. Comfortable and very esthetically pleasing rooms, good heat and hot water, comfy beds.

No breakfast. But there is the pub across the street and a café about 10 min walk away. You can also order a call-in breakfast for 7gbp, but Sam herself doesn't recommend it. Also, a walk around the neighborhood (10 min to the Parson's Pig Pub, recommended by Sam) is interesting (houses) but somewhat dirty (some garbage in the woods) and along a fairly high-speed country road (40mph limit) with narrow, often broken sidewalks (not good for wheelchairs or elderly but fine for others). Lastly, it is very near the airport, so you can occasionally hear jets taking off, but the noise is not too loud, the windows are fairly soundproofed and the plane traffic stops late at night.

We loved our room, beautifully decorated and furnished. Really clean and spacious. Beds were really comfy for all of us. Location is perfect for Gatwick. But the best thing of all was the host- made us really welcome and helped us with everything we needed for a perfect stay. We would recommend to anyone but especially those travelling with small children as you would not get that service in any large chain hotel. Great experience and we will book again

Nothing bad to say at all

A few weeks before arrival Sam called me to go through the details and couldn’t have been more helpful. Everything went smoothly and we were greeted by Satti on arrival. Sam had mentioned we may be able to upgrade if something bigger was available and it was we had a lovely room big enough for 3 adults and our son, it was very clean and well decorated perfect for our needs. Parking is cheap and easily available, travel to Gatwick is easy from a bus stop very close to the front drive. If you are flying early from Gatwick - STAY HERE!

Great location for an early flight overnight stay for North Terminal Gatwick. Took about 7 mins by taxi ( Alpha Cars , booked for 4.25 am, arrived 10 mins early and very polite driver) advise booking taxi, if used , a week or so before hand as very busy at that time in the morning !! Property has a country vibe although so convenient. Lovely stay and so reasonable! Paid to leave our car there for 8 nights, brilliant! Lovely and helpful owner.

Liked everything! Would book again x

We were very warmly welcomed by Sam who described the facilities that were available during our stay and told us a little about what was available in the local area. The room was spacious and well furnished with plenty of room for clothing storage. Our dog was also made to feel very welcome. Unfortunately we left a throw behind after we left but Sam called us and very kindly made arrangements to post it back to us. You couldn't ask for better service!

The shower room/toilet was rather small and there were a couple of minor issues which whilst having very little impact on our short stay we felt needed to be addressed. Sam promised to get these minor issues sorted for future occupants

A character filled property with a very interesting history. The room was spacious and comfortable. We received a friendly and enthusiastic welcome from Sam who showed us our room. For anyone using public transport, as we did, this place is great as it is a short bus ride from Gatwick airport and the bus stops at the property entrance. The pub across the road has very tasty Indian food.

That we only had one night there.

It was great to be able to charge our electric car overnight. Also it is a nice period property in a lovely green country setting, yet so close to the airport for those who fly. Could not hear airplanes inside the room.

Room a bit small for 3, 3rd adult bed a put-you-up bed, not very comfortable, but only £10 extra, so good value. Also could hear other occupants when they left for early flights from within our room.

This was well located for Gatwick and the we were upgraded to a nicer room. It was great to have Sky Sports available on the TV and the room was very quiet.

We took our pet pug (dog) along and were not clear that additional charges would be payable at the property. The booking site implied all was paid for and whilst I can understand the additional charge, it was a frustration that this charge was not included in the price presented when I searched for property options - nor was the amount of the fee outlined.
