Good communications, instructions to collect key from key lock at the front door. Room lovely, compact but clean, nicely decorated, and warm and quiet. Lots of tea and coffee and biscuits in the room, refill stations on the landing. Bathroom lovely, nice toiletries, spotless. Continental breakfast was included but not much left when we arrived, did manage to get 2 cheap breakfast bars, there was juice, cereals and fruit and yogurt. Suspect greedy guests had cleared everything out. Location was excellent. Would stay again, thought some reviews were quite harsh.

Breakfast should be put out in the morning to prevent other guests clearing everything out as they arrive. Yogurts should be individual pots.

Nice hotel in an excellent location (with popular attractions such as the Abbey across the river and around a 20 minute walk). Bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom a decent size with excellent, high speed, WiFi. Parking is on-street and requires scratch card permits which were available in the reception.

As it's an older property (likely an old guest house converted into a hotel) there's a lot of stairs from the ground floor and no lift. This didn't detract from our stay at all but worth bearing in mind if you have mobility issues and the ground floor rooms have been booked out.

Great location. Got lucky with parking right outside. Room was clean, decorated nicely, bed was comfortable. Price very reasonable.

Outside appears scruffy with awful net curtains at windows. Confusing about breakfast as it states in the Booking.com app there will be vouchers in your room and that it was at the Gandy pub nearby. There were no vouchers in the room but we paid for a nice full breakfast at the Gandy pub anyway. I messaged the property and was told breakfast was at a different location and to take a business card from reception and give this in at the cafe. Breakfast there was very nice and just had to pay for drinks. This should all be explained a lot better prior to arrival.

We treated our son and daughter in law and our self's to an over night stay at LilyRose. its a lovely little hotel, not too far from the train station. We found it no problem, even though it was a awful foggy afternoon. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and very welcoming. We had been booked in for breakfast across the road, but we all slept in.10am ( The beds are so comfy) and missed it. whoops. After a lovely hot shower. ( love the shower gel etc.smells so nice) we pack our things and left. The beach is just down the road and all the attractions and shops are just around the corner from there. We will be back soon.

The hills and many steps of Whitby. But they have been there for a long time and nothing to do with the hotel.

- very good location close to sea front and main strip - easy check in and check out - quite location, no noise heard at all - breakfast options available and tea and coffee in room

- towels and bedding stains - wasn’t completely clean, hadn’t cleaned under bed and some other places but was minor - was a very small room, we didn’t mind as was short stay and we was mainly out but if looking for a longer stay or are older couple/ family would recommend a bigger room

The location was fab, we stayed during January so the local parking at West cliff leisure centre was free. The hotel was a short walk to the whale bones and down the hill into the town centre. Check in was very easy through emails and we were send out keys safe code the night before our stay. The room was a lovely size with plenty of tea and coffee and the bathroom was huge. Plenty of hot water for the shower and clean towels too. We bumped into some staff (possibly the owner / manager) in the morning who was absolutely lovely, we will definitely be staying again, great value for money, the bed was lovely and comfortable.

Late check in was a bit of a pain I know 3pm is fairly standard but as we were there just for one night a late check in then early check out made it feel like we were only there 5 mins. Other than that nothing bad to note.

Close To Town the sea etc. lovely sea view and abbey view albeit from a velux window.

No lift. We Were on the top floor. Curb appeal a bit shabby. Stairs and landing decor was shabby and dated. Plus even though we put our sign out for cleaning no one popped in we just wanted clean towels and more loo paper also the shampoo and shower gel needed filling.

The room was very clean and nicely decorated

I paid for a parking scratch card but couldn’t get it until we checked in so we had to pay for parking. The information from the hotel advised that parking was free in the west cliff car park however it wasn’t. Also although our room was nicely decorated it was very small which didn’t really matter for one night but if we were staying longer it may have been an issue

Hotel was nice and clean. Didn’t actually see or speak to any staff as it’s a key lock box on arrival. The shower in the room we stayed was incredible and lovely soft towels that were actually big enough to cover everything! Room had biscuits, tea and coffee in and there were baskets in the corridor to help yourselves if you ran out. Very enjoyable stay and would recommend!

Parking was quite tricky. One of us had to stay on double yellows while the other ran in and got the car parking permit. Then took us several trips round the block to find somewhere to park. Obviously nothing the hotel can do about this but was the only negative of the stay.

Accommodation. Excellent location, very clean and comfortable. Tea/coffee plenty. Nothing to complain about. Easy to find and instruction easy to follow. Very few negatives.

Very few negatives. Wifi not available in the top floor. The toilet take approximately 15 minutes to refill in between flushes. Not convenient when waiting to go go out or retire for the night. Would have been better if informed the room was at the top of the building with no other access other than stairs. I am 73 and my partner is disabled. I should have informed yourselves about this. Would we stay again.  YES in a lower room
