Stayed here for convenience as not far from local family who held a bday party The room was huge with a large comfortable bed we stayed in the "sandbanks" room which is a family room with 2 additional single beds Adequate tea/coffee making facilitys Plenty of towels and nice size bathroom with shower over bath the hot water was super hot! A large flat screen TV Staff friendly and helpful Was great for our one night stay! Would definitely stay again when visiting!

Although the room had a lovely large bay window with sliding glass panels over existing original window panes we had to leave windows open due to it being a warm evening so consequently you do hear the very early morning traffic however we are early risers but if you wanted a lie-in may be a problem ( traffic noise not problem at night for us ) The large floor standing electric fan is inadequate it looks the part but produces little "fanning" effect! Its not very efficient and I would suggest replacing with an updated model ( this would then solve having windows open and traffic noise )

Much nicer rooms than expected from first impression of building on arrival. Very friendly staff. Very convenient for ferry in the morning.

We thought for an awful moment that we were locked in when leaving before breakfast in the morning as the door to the bar was locked. We had to exit via the "alarmed" fire exit, but no alarm - fortunately! Kitchen a bit over exuberant with their homemade bbq sauce which was on all the mixed starters we ordered.

Room was small, early morning noise from the kitchen fans. Shower ran so hot it nearly scalded us and due to the bathroom fan not working it set off the fire alarm! When we reported this. We was told they knew and was getting someone in to fix it! The bathroom could do with a good makeover. Quite tatty. Being an old building the floorboards were very creaky and early risers did wake us up

The hotel was comfortable and the parking was easy and accessible.Staff were helpful and friendly and my room easy to get to.Meals which I had were good and no complaints

My planned vacation of 3 nights,was cut short due to change of personal circumstances,and actually only became for one night.The room although a twn bed,did feel a little small and cramped.I think the night I spent in the hotel was not helped by a period of very hot weather.Sleeping was difficult and the hotel is near a very busy road,which did not help.The hotel is well maintained but aspects are dated...windows in bathroom could not be opened,bathroom / shower could be updated

Good vegetarian breakfast, attentive staff. Room was cosy and clean. Had dinner the evening I arrived and it was good value for money and substantial. Discount applied as I was a guest which was a nice surprise. This is a down to earth, friendly, non pretentious pub/restaurant with rooms,. You get an old fashioned welcome from the hosts and staff. Good location, loads of parking. Have stayed here on more than one occasion and prefer it to the corporate, characterless chain hotels which are more expensive.

Good room, clean, bright and comfortable. Excellent, friendly staff - a credit to the place, in fact.

The bar closed earlier than 11 the night I was there which was a shame, as friends dropped me off and would’ve liked a late drink. Moreover, came down for brekkie at 7.45am and it was all closed. No biggie, but I wish that’d been made a bit clearer as it said breakfast was available at the property and I don’t think 7.45 is ludicrously early for such.

Unfortunately the boiler had broken down so on the first morning there was no hot water but the plumber was called immediately and it was fixed quickly so when I returned later in the day it was fine. I would have liked some written instructions for the TV

Plenty of parking space. Plenty of choice on the dinner menu. Real ale, Large comfortable bed. Good hot shower. Good breakfast. What more could you ask for. Couldn't have been more helpful sorting out options for dinner for my wife who has had her oesophagus removed and can only eat tiny portions. Special thank you for that.

booked at short notice, lovely staff,all professional and helpful. Ate evening meal there ,really nice and great value. Only drawback for me was the bed was quite firm, which was just not to my liking, but maybe ok for others. But good quality bedding, all in all , excellent value for the money paid

just a softer bed would be my only preference. Room clean and presented to a good standard,so no other complaints.Not that this is a complaint, just a personal preference.

Friendly and helpful staff, nice clean room and bathroom which met all my needs. Continental breakfast was good and well presented. Great parking on site and also perfect location for all the places I needed to get to. I've stayed here a few times now and keep coming back because I always feel comfortable with the people and surroundings.
