although the property is very old and probably could do with a re-Ferb it had everything that we needed and more we stayed in one of the upgraded suits. we were so close to all the amenities, two minute walk from our room and we could see the lake. We had a super king bed bath and a shower and our own private garden. There is a secret garden which you look at from breakfast which was beautiful full of wildlife we will be returning I don’t have pictures in the room otherwise I would post them. I’ve just posted one of a birthday cake which catches a little bit of the room

just a little tired our breakfast was lovely every day. However on our final day it was the start of the bank holiday and it would seem that breakfast was cooked fresh and hot whereas the previous days we thought it might of been standing under a hot plate for a while that is my only complaint, but it was still a beautiful breakfast.

Perfect Location for everything in Bowness & Windermere. Staff were very attentive nothing too much trouble, not that we needed to ask for much as everything you wanted was to hand. Breakfast was first rate, plenty of choice, both hot, cold and in the way of fresh fruit. We was there over Easter, was even given an easter egg & hot cross bun at breakfast to take away. We had a garden room, which had lovely view as well as being very spacious and a small patio to enjoy the garden sights from

Hard to find anything to mention here. Only small thing would be that during our stay we was told that evening meals would not be available as they were currently looking for a chef. But that was no real issue as hotel is very close to all the available restaurants in Bowness & Windermere

we had comfortable stays with hard working staff, comfy, clean and nice and peaceful environment, well-prepared breakfast and selective menu, available parking, within working distance to the main place of attractions, if using cars to dine outside and joining lake cruise there are lots of parking spaces available...

Since we were with two grown up children, we should stick together staying at a family room with four beds, rather than the kids staying separately on their own at the other building. It's not a big issue though since we already booked two rooms.

Myself and mum were looked after the moment we booked our 2 night stay, accommodating a room change to facilitate wheelchair access. On arrival we were pleasantly shown to our room, checking in before our expected time and being recommended a nice place to venture locally. The hotel is within a perfect area to enjoy your stay with lots to do within Bowness. This lovely quaint hotel is highly recommended from its beautiful surroundings within, its excellent breakfast, comfy beds. More importantly the team of Burnhow make this place a perfect stay. Very friendly, warming and ever so accommodating. Every staff member we met deserves a 5 star Especially Michael. Thank you again! Keep up your great work

It's a brilliant what looks like family run hotel and the location is fantastic. Bedrooms are big, well decorated and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is really good and you have plenty of healthy choices from loads of different fruits to healthy cooked choices as well as the usual, all served by really friendly staff.

If we had to think of any negative it would be the bathrooms on the two rooms we were stopping in could have done with a liitle bit of modernisation but that's all and It didn't spoil our stay because we have booked to stay again.

Lovely location in Bowness. Staff very friendly and attentive. Good selection of fresh fruit for breakfast. Lovely room, pity it rained so much and could not make use of the balcony.

Couple in room nextdoor arguing from 3am to 6am...not conducive for sleep. Unfortunately no one on reception through the early hours to make a complaint. Just wish other visitors would respect others needs especially that of sleep (not the hotels fault). Did report on leaving. Also the carpet was looking a bit tired and could do with a shampoo . Parking is very tight and our room seemed to be the only one with out a parking bay, but we did manage to find a spot.

For just one night the people`` who were above us every time they walked across their room it sounded as if they were coming through the ceiling however I explained that to reception who were sorry but the occupants above us were leaving that day so there was no need to move us which reception said they would do if so required. Other than that the stay was superb and the staff were exceptional if we ever come to the lakes again we would always book with this hotel.

Everything was superb no more could have been done to enhance our stay

The location is fantastic, just a few mins walk to Bowness dock and also a 5 min walk to the bars and restaurant. The staff were really friendly and my husband even got a birthday card which I thought was a nice gesture. Breakfast was nice with a few cooked options and fruit/yoghurt etc. Our room was nice with a little balcony to sit on. The bed was huge and comfortable and the room was quiet so we slept well. Overall a fab stay and we’d go again.

Hotel situation is a real bonus, five minutes walk to the lakeside amenities and shops. All staff were lovely, very helpful and pleasant. Child's breakfast was served on a cold plate which was very thoughtful. Breakfast was excellent, couldn't fault the quality or the choice of breakfast items which were served piping hot. All of our party agreed that breakfast was much better than some of the four star hotels we have stayed in. Choice of cereals and fruit very good, granola pots particularly tasty. Our room was a superior double, spacious, clean and with a terrace. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well each night. Water always hot for showers or baths. Towels and bedding were excellent quality. Parking was excellent, plenty of free spaces. and we didn't need to use the car for the entire stay which was a bonus as parking is impossible around the town. Menu for lunch and evening dinner very good and reasonably priced. Dining room very pleasant, garden views from every window, very relaxing.

The first family room had a very dirty carpet. The room was changed straight away after contacting reception. The other room we booked was a family room, which could have been cleaner. Also my daughter felt that the room was a little on the cold and damp side. The terraces/patios could do with sweeping and a coat of paint would improve the overall appearance of the patios. Furniture was a little rusty. Ordered a bouquet of flowers for my daughter' 40th birthday. They were expensive and very disappointing and some of them were not fresh. Sadly, they had turned brown before her birthday which was quite upsetting. I have contacted the hotel in the hope of getting either a refund or a replacement. Not had a response yet!

Room was excellent and just as described on website. It was just five minute walk to the pier and all amenities in Bowness on Windermere. Breakfast was freshly cooked for each order and adequate. Coffee was fresh, hot and of good quality. We arrived early by 11am to beat travelling in the heat on the hottest ever day in UK. We went to hotel to ask if we could leave our bags there until it was time to book in, but because our room was already empty and ready we were able to have the key for it early. This kindness was much appreciated. The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating in every respect. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We were happy with everything.
