I love pretty much everything about this place, the rooms are fab, immaculately clean and very comfy beds, great location, and having a residents lounge with a microwave and fridge so you can cook a shop brought ready meal if you are on business and don't feel like going out, or are on a budget is a real bonus and very thoughtful!

Nothing really, but on my last visit, really missed having a friendly host there on arrival, especially after a very long journey, as on previous visits they were always there and great to have that friendly chat on arrival. But the positives put this into perspective and Debbie even rang me to explain why it is now self check in, which I totally get., and to take the trouble to do this just just shows what great hosts they are, My only other bug bear is that I need a mirror close to a plug so I can do my hair, but all mirrors are removeable so not been a problem, and they have always been very accommodating.

Even though we were on the top floor - literally up in the eaves - we were fine with the headspace and the room and ensuite had been beautifully converted to be a modern convenience yet remained in style with the property. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and private. Breakfast was included in the price and was one of the best we've experienced in any previous accommodation. We had travelled to attend a wedding in nearby Stavely but had the time to stroll through Ings village/hamlet and called in at Watermill Inn and Brewery, 100 yards away. If we'd stayed at Meadowcroft for longer, we would definitely have called at the Inn for evening meals, so this is another reason why Meadowcroft is such a convenient place to stay - particularly when visiting Windermere or Kendal.

Our room was room 8 on the first floor. It was super hot and were delighted to find a huge fan in the wardrobe on arrival. The room was immaculate as was the bathroom. The room was serviced every day with fresh cups and glasses and tea, coffee and milk restocked. The bed was pristine white linen and the bathroom towels were big fluffy and also pristine white. The breakfast was amazing, super selection of cooked items and Debbie was ‘hot on the hoof’ to make sure you had tea or coffee and toast and you knew where everything was, service was brilliant. There is a bus stop just down the road with a very good service into Windermere bus station which then takes you almost anywhere. The pub 5 minutes walk away, The Watermill, also had a fantastic menu for evening meals. Overall excellent value for money and service.

Everything was fantastic. Our room was great, lovely, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was quite big and the shower had good pressure and heat. We loved the breakfasts and found the guest lounge with a fridge available to be very convenient. The hosts were polite, friendly and helpful. Parking on site was great and the surrounding area very pretty. We enjoyed our stay and would have been happy to stay longer as everything was so nice.

Nothing. We read some reviews with comments about traffic noise but didn’t find it to be an issue. There is some traffic noise if you open the windows in the room but by the late evening there was very little traffic and it was not a disturbance to us at all.

The place was absolutely perfect and, by far, exceeded our expectations. The facilities were all excellent - there was everything we needed. Especially, I appreciated having an en suite single room to the double as there were 3 of us, and I was the driver, so I needed a proper rest. It was good there were 2 single beds and 1 double so each of us could have a good sleep. It was nice to have coffee and tea making facilities and access to a fridge in the lounge. The bathroom was well equipped, too, and spacious. The English breakfast they served was very tasty and abundant. The room was decorated with great taste, and I loved the colours of the room decorations and all the little details. .

There was nothing we didn't like, apart from the fact we only stayed 1 night there.

This house was exceptionally beautiful, very well decorated, and exceptionally clean. Our room was upstairs and there was a very nice lounge room with refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle and tea, and books to read. This property is the type that you might want to just have a day just to lounge. Check in was very easy and detailed written instructions provided. Breakfast was fabulous complete with several homemade jams (thin and thick cut marmalade, my favorite) fruit compote, and a delicious cooked to order breakfast. The large breakfast room and buffet was very accommodating and our hostess very friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfy! We were about a 25 minute lovely scenic drive to Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top farm where we visited the next day.

Not one thing! I wish we could have stayed another day or two and will definitely make this a stop when we return.

We were kindly given an upgrade on our room due to health issues. This was very much appreciated. The room was perfect for our needs. It had everything you could possibly want and was spotlessly clean. Thank you Debbie and Jackie. Thank you too to the lovely lady who cooked our english breakfast, it was not only well cooked, but piping hot too. If we are ever aware of friends, family or even colleagues at work who are visiting the area we will indeed be recommending your guest house. Thank you for everything we really enjoyed our stay....

Location, more of a suburb of Windermere and not in a busy town centre, access to a service station and country pub. Neat, tidy, clean, lovely layout, sufficient room, adequate and plentiful refreshment stock such as cartons of milk and tea bags. Great facilities including a lounge with a fridge and crockery and a microwave.

Not much.Just in a guest house got to appreciate that walls aren’t sound proof but we only had one night with other guests staying in the next room to us.

Spotlessly clean and close to a lovely pub for tea. Very handy for Windermere. Unusually they allowed guests to eat in their rooms, and even provided cutlery etc. This is very thoughtful as not everybody would wish to eat at the local pub, especially if staying for a number of days and/ or on a limited budget or special diet.

A bit disappointing to have no contact with the hosts. We saw somebody at Breakfast but didn't know if they just worked there as there was no conversation other than to take our breakfast order. Having said that, I am being picky as there was actually no need for us to speak to the owners. It just seemed rather unusual.

Wow!!! The wife and I had 3 nights here over the Bank Holiday. We did not want to come home. Debbie, Jackie & the team were so welcoming and friendly. I really want to sing the praises of our stay but then? If I sing too loud. It could be booked up the next time we want to go, and we will. First impression, smelt clean and was spotless throughout. Lovely room 8. All amenities provided for. Yes it is situated close to a main road but close the double glazed windows and silence. Perfect just of of Windermere which was heaving. Free parking.
