The rooms were really spacious, both with their own en-suite and one in particular was incredibly spacious. Access to the rooms was via 3 steps which made it easier for those with limited mobility. There was also an outside patio area for both rooms allowing a lovely spot to relax outdoors with a cuppa or nice glass of wine. The rooms gave us a sense of extra privacy as we had booked both rooms and had our own entrance. Breakfast offered a huge choice of options and, from those we selected, all cooked and presented perfectly. Dinner was exceptional, great choice and again, all meals were cooked perfectly. Service was great with nothing too much effort.

A choice of pillows would be helpful as those provided were much thicker than we are used to. Nothing major as there were plenty of cushions that offered alternative options. Just a tiny point to consider for future guests. Also, a grab handle for the steps would be helpful for those with mobility issues but again, nothing major.

Beautiful location in the middle of Windermere, a short walk from the lake. When we arrived we we were welcomed by a very friendly young lady ( sorry I didn't catch your name) who checked us in and explained all the mealtimes and then showed us to our room. No discredit to anywhere else we've stayed but our room at the lamplighter was one of the nicest I've stayed in. Super comfortable beds, plenty of space for bags etc and excellent bathroom. We dined in the hotels restaurant on the evening and the hotel staff were really friendly and professional. Our food was delicious as was breakfast the next morning. On the whole the lamplighter is a really lovely place to stay and made for a great end to our trip up north. Definitely recommend a stay if you're planning to visit the lake district.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. The Lamplighter was great.

There was a lady serving and she was so helpful and polite The room was so clean and comfortable, and had a lovely breakfast in the morning.

Nothing much to be honest, probably a little more room to have a couple of drinks in the dinning room, the gentleman was a little standoffish the first night when we wasn't dinning in and just wanted a couple of drinks, but then lovely the night after untill he realised we wasn't eating and then said there was no table free for a drink before we went out even though there was plenty, the area to have a drink was just two couches but they were taken up, but apart from that it was actually a lovely place, and great location

Lovely hotel, very comfortable rooms and excellent customer service, very friendly. Meals were expensive, especially the 8oz steak costing almost £40. Bed was big and comfortable, room was spacious, close to shops, would have preferred somewhere with some green area for walking our little dogs before bedtime but everything else was wonderful

Property was wonderful, room was warm and couldn’t open windows but managed with a cooling fan, my partner struggled with stairs a little as there was a lot but no complaints really, lovely place and would stay again.

Room nice clean, very comfortable bed food nice

Some where close to sockets for kettle and coffee machine as had to move kettle onto bedside table to boil also could do with shelf in bathroom brackets on wall but loose no shelve and maybe cup holders for tooth brush as not much room to put your stuff in bathroom as table top in bathroom needs securing on legs as fell of when I put something on it and it’s heavy top and could do with larger shower head

It was really central and very clean . The breakfast was brilliant and credit to the lovely lady who served it. Even though she was on her own and very busy she was so pleasant. She’s a credit to the hotel

The only negative was in the room during the night the plumbing system kept waking us up. We don’t know if it was every time someone used the toilet but was really noisy . We were in room 1 This would not put us off booking the hotel again

The room was spacious and well maintained and nicely decorated and clean. The bathroom was huge and clean. The food was delicious and very good quality for the price. Could not fault the breakfast and the choice. The staff went above and beyond to cater to us and see our needs were met, they were very friendly and amenable. Definitely will be coming back to stay again.

The only gripes we had were the lighting in the room was dim and there needed to be a bright light at the dressing table for when we were getting ready in the evening. And a place to have a drink away form the dining room would be an added bonus.

Dawn the waitress in the morning for breakfast was lovely, smiley and helpful with information about what to see during our stay, a great asset to the place

When we turned up, felt rushed to pay up straight away. As soon as we got there before we had even had chance to put our bags in our room, we had just drove 4 hours to get there and started our holiday quite abruptly, they may have been busy, just felt like an inconvenience. However, saying that we came and went with no issues, apart from the car park, you cannot always guarantee a space when you return after going out for the day.

The breakfast was delicious served by a very pleasant lady. The hotel was well located for the local restaurants and shops. Our room was beautiful, modern and spacious.

We didn't get an allocated parking space but we were able to park within the grounds, but were worried the car would get bumped with the lack of space. I bigger notice for people who are not staying over night would be helpful. Our room was beautiful with coffee\tea but no biscuits supplied. I would have expected more for the price. The bathroom was big but would have benefited from a bench or a unit to put toiletries on, there was a small shelf which was not suitable for our needs.

We had one of the newer ground floor rooms (14) which was absolutely gorgeous..huge walk in shower and massive bed.

In the past the breakfast cereals, fruit and yoghurt were self-serve on the bar. This time the menu was printed out for the table but only detailed hot breakfast choices. I asked if cereal was available and it was, but if I hadn't have asked I wouldn't have known.
