During my recent stay at the Windermere Hotel in the Lake District, I had the pleasure of experiencing firsthand the exceptional hospitality and comfort that make this hotel truly special. One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the cleanliness of the room. Stayed for 2 nights over Easter Bank Holiday and we had a lovely stay! Got there early and we were allowed to leave our bags. When we arrived back around early evening we found our bags had been taken up to our room for us. The room was great and really clean, just what we needed for our 2 night stay! Breakfast was 9-10 so not too early and we pre booked and had lots to choose from a very good menu that catered for gluten free too! Coffee, tea, juice, cereal and toast were also all included too. Really friendly staff that were always happy to help! We didn’t have chance to eat here but the food looked fantastic! We did have a drink in the beer garden which was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Lots of seating with shade/shelter, nice raised beds around the edges and an olive tree in the centre! Hotel just round the corner from the station and bus stop. A brilliant stay overall at The Elleray on a beautiful, sunny and very busy Easter Bank Holiday Weekend! Thank you so much :)

First stay at The Elleray as our usual place we stay in Bowness has increased it's prices to over £200 per night. The location is great with easy access to the pubs and restaurants in Windermere but also really convenient for the Bus and rail station. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the room was very clean and bright. Overall excellent value for money.

Everything was great but do your research as free parking in the area is limited - staff will help if you ring them before your visit.

Great location in the heart of Windermere. Staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Breakfast was hearty and lots of options including catering brilliantly for my vegan diet. Had an evening meal too which was served in the comfortable and spacious bar

Could maybe do with a spruce up and cleaning in the hallways and landing but this is probably only to be expected due to the age of the hotel and the fact there are a lot of muddy boots and paws staying there.

Friendly staff, I had asked for an early check in which was organised no problem. It was just an overnight stay which was comfortable, bed was very comfy with plenty of pillows available. Good spacious room. Breakfast was delicious, I had a full Cumbrian but there is also cereal available so you can really fuel up for the day! Good location, right in the centre of Windermere and close to railway station.

I had to order my breakfast the night before, I kind of understand the reason why but would have preferred to choose on the morning.

Small family run hotel in the centre of Windermere town. Beds were really comfortable. The rooms were clean and breakfast was top class. Location was perfect. Staff worked together very well and were really friendly and helpful. Lovely homely atmosphere in the bar with good food and large outdoor garden terrace area.

Parking was really the only issue. Parking outside the hotel during the day is short term only (1 hour from 9am to 6pm) so ok for drop off and collection. For more long term parking you must use the railway station or Broad Street car parks for a fee. Both are just a short walk away. Parking is generally an issue in Windermere and only a handful of hotels in the town have their own parking areas. All that said we didn't find it to be a major problem. We parked up and didn't need to use our car again for the whole visit. The bus service around is brilliant.

Location fab , right where we wanted to be , within steps of popular pubs. Rooms lovely , clean and spacious. Bar downstairs lovely , food looked really good but we ate out. Breakfast was very nice.

No parking , couldn’t even park on the streets as so busy everywhere , parking is only 1 hr on streets until after 6pm when free . We were advised to go to the train station to pay and park yet that was for train fair custom only . Taxi driver told us not to park as we will be fined . We had to park 15mins walk away outside Windermere

Large comfortable, elegant, clean room. Had everything that's needed in a hotel room. Catered for my being gluten-free - went out specially to buy gluten free breakfast cereal. Very easy check in and check out. I arrived 2 hours before check in and my room was ready and available.

Not so much didn't like, but I think my room was above the bar so the music was quite loud in the evening - and played all day. And was even on at breakfast. But some people like that! It's a personal thing.

Fantastic pub hotel with lovely and accommodating staff. Walkable to the lake and with lovely walks in the area. Breakfast lovely and room very nice, just what we needed. Also, we left very early on our check out day and they left us a bag of breakfast treats including bacon bap!!! Glad we found you on booking. Com

Room was a little on the small side but the furnishings and style made up for that. Would highly recommend staying here.
