Very friendly and helpful staff at reception, who showed me to my room as it was my first time staying there. The room was large and spacious, but felt cosy like I was staying at a relative's home. There was lots of storage space between the bedside tables, the wardrobe and the desk/vanity, and a few added amenities most hotels don't offer such as an electric heater which warmed up my room by the time I had my shower and an extra, extra large soft warm blanket in the wardrobe that felt like luxury with it on my bed at night. Speaking of the bed, it was perfect for me! Real firm and I slept really well on it, with additional help from the spare pillows found in the wardrobe. The free internet speed was actually pretty decent and you could watch a YouTube video at 720p with ease, though the WiFi is more for browsing, and there is faster internet speeds available for an additional cost. There is a bar and restaurant on-site however I didn't use these though the bar did look rather inviting and comfortable to relax in after a long day. Overall, I would stay again when in Wolverhampton!

Bathroom was rather chilly but I didn't touch the radiator in the bathroom in case I did something I shouldn't have, however the cold did wake me up in the morning! There was a sign on the front door informing guests to check-in at the rear of the hotel. I do wish this sight was larger and maybe placed before the entrance steps to minimise going up the stairs especially in treacherous weather.

The room was immaculately clean, bed was really comfortable all the staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was great value for money and really well cooked

As I was travelling on my own I wanted a hotel that had a restaurant so I didn't have to go out on my own at night - the hotel's own website clearly mentions this, so I was very disappointed to be told at check in that there were no evening meals served - this should have been made clear at time of booking if the current situation is not as described on the hotel's website

The Ely House is beautiful. The lady who runs it Claudia was brilliant. Very friendly and helpful. From the minute we arrived Claudia helped us to find somewhere to eat, booked our taxis for us. She even introduced us to another guest and his wife who were going to the same venue KKs Steel mill who we shared a taxi back. Thank you Claudia. You and your team do an amazing job. We will definitely be back. I will be recommending your hotel. The breakfast was really nice Also the taxi service were really good. Had a brilliant stay! If I could give you 10 stars I would. Thanks. Hopefully see you again soon

There was nothing to dislike. It is a beautiful place.

Clean quiet fabulous staff willing to help you .I had gone from Yorkshire to visit friends. It was the perfect place to stay. I would definitely stay there again when visiting Wolverhampton. As a single mature lady I felt very safe in the hotel. Very impressed.

To be honest I wouldn’t change anything. The bed was comfortable the bath towels were thick and fluffy. They checked and tidied your room every day whether you asked or not. Topped up your tea tray. Keep it straight forward and simple. A great stay. Thank you.

Everything from the moment I stepped through the door was super including; the welcome, check-in, public areas and my room. I saw another comment that drinks were expensive, but I had two large (very large) glasses of white wine and got change from £6 so in my view that was really inexpensive. Claudia, as others have mentioned, is an exceptional lady and her personality and professionalism shines throughout this hotel. The building is period and has been furnished to a very high and comfortable standard. Parking is at the rear in an enclosed courtyard with security lights. I was upgraded to a suite (with an 4 poster bed) and apart from being delighted I will be booking this again the next time I stay here. This is now my ‘go-to’ hotel the next time I stay anywhere near Wolverhampton.

Nothing!

Claudia is so lovely, remembers your name and has a smile for everyone. She helped me with my suitcase, I have a knee injury and she checked the downstairs room was okay for me. We had a lovely chat this morning, much welcomed as I was travelling on my own. Gorgeous breakfast. Lovely breakfast room and bar area. Would like to come back to stay in one of the rooms inside the main part of the hotel when I can use the stairs. My room was warm, clean, with a comfortable bed, fine for my work stay, WiFi was pretty good too.

Wonderful and warm welcome, check in, out, and customer service overall. High standard of cleanliness. Quiet room at rear of the building. Close enough to city centre to walk in. It's a great place to stay and I would come back and recommend it.

Reception at rear of building. The front is not much to look at and does not reflect inside at all. Hallways are narrow with low ceilings. Other guests chatting and moving through were disruptive to sleep. It's a manners thing, but a gentle reminder to consider others might help. People shouldn't need it really.

I liked the cleanliness of the place, bath sheet however had a most disagreeable fragrance. The receptionist was lovely and welcoming very helpful and pleasant, hotel is near city centre and main routes that is a plus, secure parking amazing. Bed was so comfortable but the pillows a bit thin from use. Overall enjoyed my stay but I think breakfast could have been covered in the room price. ⭐️⭐️

Towels stuffy not fresh, thin pillows, breakfast not included in room price.

Room clean, warm and comfortable. Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Convenient location for me.

No internal phone for contacting reception in emergency - I felt my room (3) was rather isolated should I have needed help. I was not asked for photo ID on arrival, so little security as to identity. Very low beam across the middle of my room. Fortunately I'm only 5ft 3, but another 4 inches and I'd have been in trouble. The hotel had no idea of my height when I booked.
