The location of the property was excellent being both next to the centre of Woodstock and Blenheim Palace together with easy access to other Cotswold destinations and villages, the property was extremely clean, The owners and staff helpful and friendly, The food excellent and what a lovely atmosphere it was in the bar, staff very attentive. A small car park at the back of the property required a permit and we were was asked to vacate by 12 o’clock midday however speaking with The management they allowed us to stay a little longer. Traditional Cotswold pub with all the modern facilities and up to date decor.

Nothing to dislike, only that the pub did shut early on the Saturday & Sunday in comparison to other places; however there are plenty of other places in Woodstock so if needing brunch or a later meal drink etc you can easily find one.

The staff were all very polite and efficient. The room was a great size and had been refurnished nicely, but think there may be a few problems down the line by scrimping on the bathroom fittings. Location idea as on the edge of the village with easy access to Blenheim and the pub, restaurants and shops.

Seating in the pub and like a military operation with no flexibility, it felt like being back at school. The breakfast was an extra charge and was good. The Room was crying out for a super king bed rather than the king size that was dwarfed by the room. The car parking was cramped and in Woodstock itself was difficult, but that may have been contributed to by the music festive that was on over the bank holiday.

Beautiful building , large room and liked the addition of a sofa to sit rather than the bed. Accept that there was traffic noise but loved being in the heart of Woodstock and being able to people watch from the window seat . Thought the pub inside and out had a great atmosphere and felt welcome. Appreciated the fact that we had parking even though we were in the middle of town. We had no problem getting a space but it would encourage me to book again if I could guarantee a space. We enjoyed a great lunch and breakfast and found the staff enthusiastic and I could tell that they were happy to be there , this rubs Off on guests,

Our room was fabulous, what we did struggle with was locking and unlocking our door (Room 1) think this was due to the age and angle of the door. The sash windows did not have a cord to fix the window in an open position, we improvised by using a rolled up towel. We have had hot weather so air flow is essential in rooms.

Good location, lovely room, comfortable bed, good food in the restaurant, excellent location for visiting Blenheim Palace and wandering around Woodstock. Bathroom clean and tidy, no black silicon everywhere like a lot of hotels. the shower pressure is a bit limp but adequate. Parking at the rear, tight but ok, private entrance for guests was a nice touch as parking is a problem in the town. Great place for a wander, plenty of places to eat and Blenheim Palace is within walking distance.

We had room 1 and it was stifling hot, there's no air conditioning, only an oscillating fan and the heating was on even though it was 22 degrees outside. We turned the radiator off and opened the large sash window but unfortunately the room is directly above the main road through Woodstock, so cars, buses and lorries coming past, very close, very noisy. The room remained hot, so we had to sleep with the window open, and the road noise was bad. It obviously died down overnight but started again very early. Air conditioning could be installed as there's two outside walls. It didn't spoil our stay, we'd stay there again but it would have been much better with a good nights sleep

The Punchbowl was a real find for a 2 night stay to visit Oxford as it was within easy reach of transport in. A good welcome and finding a FAB looking room was a great start, Apart from super customer service from the team and being in the delightful Woodstock village, I have to highlight that the food offer was exceptional !! from the simple Scampi option (that enticed me to eat the salad???) to the Absolutely Magnificent (at £12.50, it had better be) Breakfast, which was easily in my top 3 EVER !! OMG, you are in walking distance of the free part around Blenheim Palace lakes.....stunning. (Green gate)

Parking could be a "pickle" unless you were Charming to the team, so , no problem for me :-) The rules about everything were very firmly reminded at every juncture, which is indicative of their previous encounters. The value added option of being given a room specific Thermos flask of fresh milk for the next morning`s early cup of tea was a touch of Pub class !!

All staff SO friendly, efficient and accommodating. Room lovely, classy decor, nice size, clean and comfortable with lovely treat of box of chocolates and free drink voucher for bar. Bed very comfy. All food we had was absolutely delicious and served very quickly when ordered. Good quality food. Breakfast excellent value. A buzzing place, obviously popular with locals. Would certainly recommend or stay again.

The only down side was the price per room for us. This was obviously elevated because of big event at Blenheim palace which is within walking distance. But from a business perspective, all businesses in the area, whether that was pubs/hotels/taxi firms etc had done this, which I understand. If there’s people willing to pay it for convenience, then it’s a good business move!

Easy check-in, lovely refurbished rooms and coffee etc in room.Staff were very helpful. They have electric charging for £20 a night plug in. Well thoughtout layout of rooms.

water is hot but the pressure in the shower and bathroom isnt great (we were in top floor but our parents downstairs reported the same). Parking is tight but they have plenty of overflow town parking near fire station. Pub closed early 9:30pm on a Friday night - went across the road instead this is a positive on the sleeping front though.

Amazing rooms! Lovely location and a very pub with amazing food! The rooms had clearly been recently upgraded and it was lush! Bathroom very modern and a nice big bed with amble pillows.

This is not a dig at the hotel whatsoever as this was a very pleasant stay, however it’s peoples opinions on the firmness of the mattress but we both agreed the mattress was very firm. I would recommend if you got new mattresses in the future to go medium firmness so suit everyone’s needs.

location, parking, rooms are really lovely and cosy, they have thought about what you need, the staff greeting was polite and check in easy, the owner checked us out really nice guy. My daughter and partner dined in evening and cocktails are reasonable price, we were given discount card in reception. lovely outdoor space.

breakfast could be a bit later, we couldn't have any because it was way to early, i think maybe if they could manage check out at 11am we could have had breakfast. but that's just our opinion.

Location very convenient for walking around local village and tourist landmarks. Clean and comfortable room with good shower/bathroom facilities. Good food and drink options. Excellent breakfast. Parking onsite was available.

Stayed during a local event so room rate was significantly inflated. Given that scenario, slightly surprised to pay additional amount on check-in for breakfast on site. No bottled water in room which would have been a nice touch given room rate although there was a 10% discount offer for food/drink in bar.
