we loved the location with the river running behind the property, the views and sound whilst having our morning coffee was amazing. The location was short drive to Yosemite NP.

our pillows were small and flat, leaving us with sore necks. The towels were old and tattered. the staff were unable to explain the payment correctly, leaving us unsure of when we will be paying for the property. As we are from a different country it was difficult to ensure the correct money was ready for the payment.

loved the view of the raging river and the location to Yosemite valley! the pizza was also good.

For the price, I think there should be at least free Wi-Fi in main areas and restaurants if not also in your room. You will not have cell service due to the location, but Wi-Fi is kind of a modern necessity for looking up tours/info/directions and for the price you’re paying, you’d expect some included access.

The location is excellent, you are just outside the entrance to the park, although it's about a half hour drive or more to the Yosemite Visitor Center. The room was very clean. I got a good price by booking on short notice during a period of possibly questionable weather. I would not pay the $300 plus tax rack rate here. Location or not, that is poor value. I paid $160 per night including taxes, which was fairly reasonable. They have a nice area down by the Merced River with sitting swings. Despite being right on the main road into the park, the room was very quiet. Climate control very intuitive. I was easily able to get a good temperature despite it being quite cool overnight.

No Wi-Fi without paying extra for it. That's fine at a fancy hotel, but not at a basic motel. No cell signal either. This is the sort of place where a lot of people trash the room and there were nicks and dings in the walls. They cannot possibly keep up with the way people treat the rooms, so you just have to accept this.

The location is great. The atmosphere is present and relax. The shop is very impressive for travellers.

There is no signal at the location. The Wifi is not free. But that actually forced me to have a good relax.

This is a great choice if you dont want to stay in Yosemite Valley itself. We actually stayed both here and at Yosemite Valley Lodge, and this hotel was much nicer - the rooms were in better condition and the facilities were better overall. We particularly loved the games room which had a great selection of things to do as a family such as pool and foosball. The pizza was also pretty good. We were very happy with our stay here. 30 minute drive from the valley and your entrance to the park lasts 7 days so you dont have to pay to reenter each day.

They charged for wifi - $10 per device, which we thought was a little stingy. However, I think wifi might be an issue in this area in general.

Yosemite View Lodge most definitely exceeded our expectations after reading all the previous reviews. We were very conscious of this not being a good hotel but were pleasantly surprised to say the least. The hotel is absolutely huge, it’s like a mini complex and has ample parking. The rooms are definitely dated and the cleanliness isn’t up to a great standard. However, the rooms are really big, comfortable beds and surprisingly modern bathroom. We also had a balcony which had a lovely mountain view. In reality we weren’t in the room for that long anyway so it didn’t matter. We found all the staff to be really helpful and attentive. Yes it’s annoying you have to pay for WiFi ($10 per day for 2 devices) and the food options on site are overpriced, but it’s also the best location for access to the park. It is amazingly located and only a 10 minute drive to the Yosemite entrance (depending on the time of day you go). The laundry machines are also reasonably priced and work pretty efficiently also.

We only had breakfast at the hotel on our first morning. It is SO expensive ($22 per person) for a very average breakfast buffet but probably the only option before a day in the park. On our check out day we drove to Mariposa for breakfast and paid half the price for much better food which I would definitely recommend doing.

This is the third time we've stayed at the Lodge, but the first time for our daughter and grandson. The location at the entrance to Yosemite is beautiful. The setup for our adjoining rooms and patios was a pleasant surprise and the comfortable beds made for good sleeping at the end of a long day of hiking. The kitchenette came in handy, but when we didn't want to cook, the sit-down restaurant served a buffet breakfast and menu dinner. The little pizza restaurant met our grandson's (and our) need for good pizza. Overall, a perfect location to stay when we visit Yosemite. We'll be back.

this is the perfect location to visit Yosemite so book as soon as you can. And if you can, get river view. June 2023 was a late snowfall so the river was wild flowing past the lodge, and great to look at from the balcony albeit you could not talk over the noise. With a spa bath even better but not so important especially as if it is hot, and there are some spas in the pools,. Short drive to Yosemite but go early to get parking. The pizza parlour is great - really tasty pizzas and lovely staff. Restaurant also good but quite pricey. There is a shop but if you can bring food, rooms are equipped with cooking facilities, hob, microwave, kettle - which is excellent. Several pools also very good. Beds very comfortable and rooms large and clean. We had to swap rooms on last night (my booking fail) and the family room is also very good, 2 huge rooms and each with its own bathroom and again kitchen facilities and a veranda.

Its a bit dated but that does not really matter, it is very comfortable. Wifi is the only real issue, particularly trying to argue (in 2023) that its totally normal for wifi to be provided by an external company that is nothing to do with the hotel therefore you have to buy it separately at $10 per 2 people per day.

Newly updated rooms include a lot of amenities. Well-stocked mini kitchenette with dishes, silverware, cooking pans, etc. Had a microwave, refrigerator, sink, double burner stove top, and mini coffee maker. The bathroom was clean, and large, with shampoo and a hairdryer. Has a fun game room with pool tables, a shuffleboard, a large TV, board games, etc. Great for large group or family entertaining. Indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, outdoor swimming pool, children's play area, picnic area. Restaurant on property.

The bed was too soft. The heater didn't seem to work...just blew out cool air.

Location, location, location! Besides staying in a lodge inside Yosemite you won't find anything closer. Some improvements made from previous stays are the printed facility maps as the amenities are spread out. The children (and adults) loved the game room that I don't remember from previous stays. Foosball, billiards, shuffleboard, and a bunch of board games to enjoy in the evenings after a day hiking.

The room in Juniper building was a bit dated. The bathtub had noticeable damage and discoloration. Missing hooks for towels making it hard to find a place hang them to dry. The shower curtain was so short that even when being careful the room was flooded. The fancy mirror was a nice touch.
