The property is located in a beautiful area with fantastic views from most of the public rooms and bedrooms. It has a great balcony where we ate most of the time. A spacious lounge and utility room with a washer and tumble drier. Great bar and diner just down the road about 5 mins away. On a good road into Yosemite. Best done as a circular route. Great for a party of up to 6 but over the top for a couple.

It’s not at the Narrow Gauge Inn. It’s about 15-20 miles away on a completely different road. It is actually an air b&b owned by the people from the NGI. No tv reception but does have Netflix.

The room was very comfortable and cute. The bed was super comfortable and warm, and the bathroom was nice as well! I appreciated the closet in the bathroom as well as the table by the shower. The heating and cooling was also very easy to work. Parking was also easy and accessible, and the whole inn was easy to navigate.

My stay was really nice, and the staff were all very nice and welcoming! However, the shower head in my room (room 35) may have been broken. Water only came out of four holes and there was a leak in the shower head itself. In the room above me or on the first floor, people were constantly making noise through the whole night from when I went to sleep to when I left this morning. I'm not sure if it was maintenance or if the guest above me just didn't want to go to sleep. The wifi was also spotty at times, but that may have just been an issue with my personal devices.

We felt like we were the only people there. It wasn’t the case, but we had a great view of the forest, went on a hike to a nearby babbling brook, sat and enjoyed hummingbirds, wildflowers and a the rejuvenating mountain scent. It was a great value; a hidden treasure for sure. We have family who built a cabin nearby to have similar natural solitude. We got it for one-tenthousandth the cost, and none of the upkeep. Next time I’ll stay two or three days and bring my fishing pole.

The adjacent diner wasn’t open. So we instead had to drive a few miles for a nice meal. We looked at dining at a popular nearby lodge, but found that too busy, overly commercialized, and a little too much like the city we came up to escape.

The food for dinner was absolutely wonderful and delicious. The room was rustic but the beds were comfortable and heater worked great. The service at front desk was great. Very receptive to our needs. The location was only 7 minutes from the Southside Entrance Yosemite.

I can't find anything I didn't like.

Good location for exploring Yosemite and surrounding areas. Local stuff was super friendly and very helpful, we enjoyed our stay there. For our purposes it meet the expectations 100%.

First night was relatively colder and the heating was a bit noisy, but we worked it out for the other 2 nights and have no problem with it afterwards.

The restaurant meal was superb! We really enjoyed the “mountain feel” of the room. We arrived in the middle of a little snowstorm, so we were not able to use the balcony, but in better weather, it would be a lovely place to sit!

The only drawback (that appeared to be only in our room) was the very small corner shower. It took a long time to get hot water, and, due to the small enclosure, the shower head had no choice but to leak on the bathroom floor. Also, the WiFi was extremely slow. We couldn’t make phone calls and we’re limited in which text messages would go through.

Super comfy beds. The King size room in particular had great character. Great location to access Yosemite and railway ride next door and within easy 10 min drive of good restaurants.

TV's controls / menus were not intuitive to navigate. Nearly gave up trying but reception were able to assist over phone.

Loved everything about this property! Quiet above all others and the interior of the room is so detailed and tons of room. 2 bathrooms, 4 beds for me and my husband and 2 teens. Pool was open and fun to swim. Close to the Yosemite National Park. We waited maybe 10 minutes to get in to the park. The dinning here was very expensive but excellent! Will stay here again. The only thing we didn’t love was the beds firmness. The king was a little too soft for me and every move we bounced. Same with the teens. Their bed squeaked a lot when they would move. Not a huge deal but I’d rate the beds as ok. I did like the bathtub option too when we hiked so much it was nice to relax. Shower is very large too! Water is hot! We filled our water bottles every night from the tap and added ice when we went hiking. Fridge in room too!

Beds not super comfortable. Maybe it’s just my preference. Everything else amazing!

Setting and quaintness of the old mountain lodge

I made a mandatory dinner reservation at the front desk, and when we arrived it hadn’t been made. Luckily the host, still sat us and the food was excellent.
