Due to uncertainty over circumstances that may have delayed our trip, we booked the Oakhurst Inn as a base for spending 3 nights near Yosemite very last minute. The Inn is what you'd expect from 2 star accommodation, but with a few really nice benefits. Firstly, the room size was generous. Secondly, the self-serve breakfast was super efficient and included with the standard booking - this was really helpful when we were up early to get to the hiking trails. Locaiton wise, you are ~20mins from the south entrance of Yosemite (~45mins from the valley itself), which is about as good as you're going to get unless you booked well in advance to stay inside the park or have plenty $$$ to spare. The town has everything you need and was a great base for our stay.

The soundproofing in the rooms isn't the best, though my experience of cheap through to very fancy hotels is that this is the case in most places, so it would be unfair to say this is a specific issue of the Oakhurst Inn. We had some loud footed neighbours above us, but nothing that caused issues - some long hikes in Yosemite and we slept like babies every night!

The location was perfect for Yosemite and the surrounding area. The staff were very friendly and engaging as well as helpful. The young gentleman on breakfast duty was brilliant and the breakfast was by far better than we had expected. The room breakfast was in was a bit cramped most mornings with the number of people trying to get access so a bit of jostling. Very comfortable bed

The room decor is pretty tired looking, and they really do need to get safes in the rooms, replacing doors and windows will help with reducing car noise in the early morning. Also hated the fact they used single use plastic cutlery, cups, plates really need to think about waste so much going to landfill. Didn't use the pool as the water didn't look particularly inviting

This was by far one of the best hotels we stayed at during our road trip around the US. The staff were helpful, friendly and accommodated my request of being on the ground floor. The room was large and had a microwave, fridge and coffee machine. Upon arrival they gave us a little complimentary bag with snacks in it, which was a great touch! Free parking was offered and available right outside our room. Free hot breakfast was also offered and had the the largest selection of foods I've seen for free. It included sausages, eggs, muffins, bagels, waffles, juices, yoghurt, cereal and more. They have a seasonal pool which we unfortunately didn't get to use because of the time of year we went, but it looked like a lovely area and they also have free WIFI that works well. The location is great with beautiful views and there is lots around to do. We stayed here to be close by Yosemite National Park but to also stay somewhere affordable, which The Oakhurst Inn was.

Whilst the room was clean, we did unfortunately find a pacifier/dummy under one of the beds which the cleaners must have missed from previous guests, therefore it would be good in future if they made sure they're getting all areas on the floor! It would be great if this place offered laundry equipment with an additional charge for the machines. If the pacifier/dummy had not been there and the laundry equipment was offered, I would easily rate The Oakhurst Inn a 10/10.

The breakfast was great - the waffles were particularly delicious, as was the fresh orange juice! The staff that checked us in was lovely, even if there was an issue when we arrived - Booking.com hadn't sent the request for change to have an extra day to the property, so they thought we were a No-Show. Fortunately, all was resolved quickly and the room we had was great. Sadly, we didn't see those staff members again and we dealt with Dawn who was a little less friendly than her other colleagues. The location was fantastic - Oakhurst is a beautiful town and its proximity to Bass Lake was probably its best amenity.

I remember there was a sign on the reception desk stating that housekeeping didn't clean rooms on the 2nd morning, however by day 3 we had to ask for the room to be tidied. Perhaps there was some miscommunication, however when we returned to the room on the 3rd day the only sign that staff had been in the room was fresh towels. The beds hadn't been made, and nothing else had been touched. We found it odd, but it wasn't an issue in and of itself, but thought it was a little weird.

We stayed here on our visit to Yosemite. The hotel is about 1h 20min from the Valley. Everything was clean. Breakfast was provided every morning with plenty of options. It does get crowded at 7am but they have two people on the spot restocking continuously. There's seating inside and outside for the breakfast. The town is small but nice. You can walk to dinner places or just drive, everything is close by. There is a really good chinese restaurant right in front of the hotel, crossing the street. Pool has a decent size and it is open until 10pm I believe.

Beware the hotel will charge you for your stay before you get there. This goes against their listing on Booking as they state you will be charged when you arrive to the property. When I asked about it, they said they do that because people tend to cancel. People have the right to cancel especially if they booked a free cancelation stay or so which is why I disagree with their practice and thought you should know too.

Our family loved the pool and hot tub. The staff were welcoming and polite. All the basics were met. We’d ha no problem coming back.

The air conditioner would abruptly turn off when we were all asleep and we would awaken to a muggy room. Some like it hot, but we’re a family of polar bears who blast our A/C and expect the same from our hotel. We used the pamphlet/binder in our room to get to know the area, only to find out that certain businesses/restaurants are no longer around (this could be as a result of the pandemic and so we’ll let the hotel slide for not updating their reference material). On our last day, we used the microwave once, only to find out that it was not functioning properly. We made staff aware and they handled our issue quickly and calmly. Our stay was good, not great. But in the end all our needs were basically met :)

The staff was very friendly and the place was very clean. The breakfast buffet was very good varied both days that we were here. It included coffee, some protein (we got omelette and sausages the first day, and bacon and eggs the second day), fresh fruit (oranges the first day and apples the second day), muffins, toast, bagels, yogurt and juice. Very good breakfast to start the day and head out to Yosemite. The location is nice. Very easy to arrive and a convenient way to get into Yosemite. The South Gate entrance (near Mariposa Grove) is only 25 minutes away. Driving to Yosemite Valley might take 1 h 20 min. There's plenty of restaurants around to grab dinner, all within walking distance.

The AC was not easy to operate and it got a bit hot during the night. The window with mosquito screen wouldn't open either. These are minor details, and I would recommend staying here if you're planning to visit Yosemite through the South Gate entrance.

Value for money, visiting Yosemite NP. Big rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast (although a bit chaotic during rush hour due to small space, but you can go sit outside, so not too bad). Distance to the park, entrance Yosemite NP only 30min drive away, however do note to not be disappointed, Yosemite Valley is 1h30 drive away.

Swimming pool/hot tub were quite cold, also was a bit disappointed that the swimmingpool only opened at 9am, so no early morning dip before going hiking.

The room was pretty comfortable. The pool & hot tub were nice as well. Girl who checked us in was really nice... they also had a cool little gift shop in the front selling Yosemite gifts. They had stuff the other stores didn't & I wish I would've bought more. Lol. Overall, really liked the place. Their breakfast was appreciated.

We had issues with the internet. My daughter & I both had issues. I called the front desk & they weren't particularly helpful or sympathetic. That was the only thing that sucked about our stay.

I was sooo surprised from this hotel! Absolutely deserves 10/10, i have been to so many hotels around the world , all kind of price categories, but this one definitely winning in USA! Perfect hot shower, everything clean, big TV, coffee machine with coffee, microwave and fridge in the room. Everything worked well! Bed very comfortable. The staff and all people In Oakhurst were sooo friendly that’s absolutely amazing!😍 And the first hotel ever where i got a Welcome gift bag! Absolutely nailed it! Breakfast very surprising as well! All hotels in the US i been to providing breakfast is just a juice, coffee, tea and sweet and very unhealthy muffins. Breakfast here? Had even scrambled eggs! I couldn’t believe it! I am a coffee lover and the coffee tastes great as well! Breakfast winners as well! I can’t wait to go back when I go to Yosemite again! ❤️
